raumdeuter: Raumdeuter I remember u asked me the above question about conflict of interest while we were discussing Tunji-Ojo and his complicity in the Betta Edu. See what EFCC is saying about Emefiele's wife & in-law getting a contract from CBN while he was CBN governor Furthermore, Emefiele was accused of conferring corrupt advantage on his wife, Omoile Margret, and brother In-law, Omoile Macombo, by allegedly awarding a contract for the renovation of a portion of the CBN Governor’s residence in Lagos to the tune of N99.8m. |

BlueRayDick: You work in corporate Nigeria na. This one na standard. I remeber my oga at the top having to dance around oga patapatas wife at one time and brother at another time when they took renovation project. The man simply carried the same attitude to cbn. You can be sure his fam got some renovation contracts. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:28am On Jan 19 |
GloriousGbola: Yeah, I know . Raumdeuter was asking if a company u have interest in but not running directly got a contract from a government agency u are overseeing ; does it make u corrupt ? The answer to that is contained in EFCC’s charge against Emefiele . |

Ibime:This man get bad mouth. Arsenal came close to winning the league last season for the first time in a long while, and the buzz and interest in Arsenal-related stuff spiked. It makes plenty of sense. They even got a shoutout from Drake and 21 Savage on their joint album. |

BlueRayDick:They shouldn't have waited up until there's a disaster to do the right thing...Explosives should be properly stored. I doubt the state government is not aware of the mining activities in the state or the presence of these miners... |

BlueRayDick:The corruption in this country is mind-blowing. I only got to know that there's gold in Obanliku LGA and the Chinese are there mining. The state government is aware but it is kept under wraps because they're benefitting from it. How did I know? I had a neighbour who works with the Military Intelligence but Baba lied that he was working for the Red Cross in a bid to stay undercover. I wasn't sure so, I deliberately arranged a sitting with my folks from the Red Cross and invited him and just as suspected, it turned out that they didn't know him. It was only then he opened up to me. He used to lead combined team of military personnel to raid the mining sites. A lot of shady things are happening... 4 Likes 1 Share |

patrickmuf: The state government is aware, they just do not want to accept their complicity in the tragic event. Below was what the security adviser to the governor of Oyo State said when he was on Channels TV: Owoseni said, “For the past two years, the Oyo State governor has been engaging the federal government with regards to mining. We’ve discovered that there is an illegal mining market, gemstone market in Ibadan around Ojoo and populated by foreigners. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 11:33am On Jan 19 |
patrickmuf: Can u imagine ? I believe the reason why states and LGA's allow such illegal mining/exploration to go on with their blessing is due to the law that says everything beneath the ground belongs to FG. They prefer tapping those resources illegally without losing a large chunk of the proceeds to FG who will only give them whatever minute percentage is stated in the constitution as derivatives. They prefer having greedy & unscrupulous foreigners mine it and remit sizeable part of the proceeds to them. U will be surprised that after some successful raids on those illegal gold mining site by ur neighbor and his team, those financing the illegal mining might either bring him in to arrange for his settlement or they silence him 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by patrickmuf(m): 11:36am On Jan 19 |
BlueRayDick:I do not get why the solid minerals we have are left to the hands of illegal miners when the government should be raking in billions of dollars from the sale of these minerals. I reckon the money we get from crude oil exploration is not comparable to what we'd get from the vast mineral resources around the country. Maybe the politicians have decided that the oil money is for the country but the money from solid minerals is for their pockets alone because I don't understand why the government will sit and watch so-called illegal miners doing their thing. |

BlueRayDick:I did not want to add the bolded but it is the fact. They are released almost immediately. He stopped working with the police because most times, the miners somehow get wind of their planned sting operation and evacuate before they get there... |
