Good evening everyone,

Please I am about to restart my Canadian journey and I have couple of questions.

Let me just delve right into it.

I am a Software developer with more than 3 years of experience

I am aged 31 going to 32 on 1st of April

My qualification is HND

I am currently running my HND conversion which I will be rounding up end of this year.

I have evaluated my HND with WES sometimes in the past(2022) and WES evaluated it to be 3 years diploma and a year Post graduate.

Here is my real question

Does it mean I am having 2 Two certs, meaning "my level of education" will be Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years?

Thanks all, please I await your reply and advise soon.

Is the HND conversion to a BSc?
And are you planning on using the BSc for express entry?

Note that your HND, evaluated as 2 or more certificate gives you more point than your BSc.

Ok, if it is higher, then I will just go for IELTS because they will just be about the same price.

And I will prefer IELTS because I am familiar with it, but I heard CELPIP is easier though.

Yes it's higher. On the basis of familiarity, IELTS sounds more plausible.
The price of IELTS increases from February though.

Hello house,

I have receieved NOI from OINP for French.

So my questions are:
1)What are the next steps?
2)What documents need i supply?
3)Can i pay for the fees using someone else’s card as mine only has the exact amount required for POF.
4)Is biodata page of passport enough for identification or do i also need birth certificate?
5)My spouse did not do WES or IELTS, will that be a problem as i qualified for the draw even without his WES and IELTS
6)How long does the processing take?
7)I changed my job and now using a different NOC code with a different TEER (before was teer 1 and now TEER 3) will that be a problem? Note that the qualifying requirements are french nclc 7 and teer 0,1,2 or 3.
8.)Lastly i had submitted SINP, NB virtual recruitment and Quebec Arimma profile. I know that i must withdraw all applications but at what point do i do this? Before applying for OINP or after receiving nomination?
9) I have simultaneously received interest from Quebec, i assume the Quebec process is more complex with regards to ECA, i dont know how to go about it. Please advise if i should select accept OINP and withdraw from Arimma or maintain Arimma and leave OINP as the application fee is hefty.
10) Can i use pension fund contributions as part of POF? If yes must i keep it in the fund and use LOE or must i transfer to my account and again use LOE to explain the lumpsum amount.
11) The draw was conducted as I was inbetween my former job and my new job. Does that make me ineligible? If I submit with the new job and different tree. Will OINP consider my eligibility at the time of draw or at the time of submission of application? (For better clarity I was in my former job for 5yrs and then was sacked and now I have a new job for which I am to start on 22nd Jan and draw was conducted on 18th Jan at which time I had not yet signed the new contract. )

I would like the least complicated route (between OINP or Quebec) and i am also humbly requesting assistance/guidance for OINP application. If someone could direct me where to find the guidelines or a support group for OINP, i would be grateful. Regardless of all my preferences, i am open to all advice. Thanks in advance

Express entry or studies.

Since you studied law and are yet to serve, I’m assuming you have maybe 1 year of experience. If you’re less than 30 years and you max IELTS (LRWS / 8.5,8,7.5,7.5), your maximum score will be 456.

If you have 3 years experience, max IELTS and still under 30, your score jumps to 481.

However, if you dedicate this year to learning French and you score a B2, your score jumps to 518, which is a good score but still lower than the recent general draws. However, you qualify for the French draw. The last general draw was 546 while the last French draw was 470.

Alternatively, you can try the study route. It doesn’t have to be an MSc or LLM. With a 2 years diploma from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), you get a 3 years post graduate work permit.

But note that going via the study route is way more expensive, sometimes more than 3 times what you would have spent for express entry, and it still does not guarantee you permanent residency.

Thanks boss

Hi guys, I am asking on behalf of my friend who is not sure if he should declare that he overstayed his visa in Namibia. This was about 5 years ago when he visited there once. It was the only place he ever traveled to. Now he has a new passport which doesn't mention that he ever had an old passport. Can he leave his overstay in Namibia out?

Hello Abercrome, it's great you landed safely and are adjusting well.

I sent a PM, can you kindly take a look?

Thanks.
Abercrome:

Yes, I landed safely and I’m adjusting well. My husband got $2k from his bank (FCMB) through the PTA route. We supplemented this by buying CAD from the black market. My brother helped me with this one but I can ask him what the black market process is. We also still had quite a lot of NGN when we landed and will be looking to convert this soon. Have you tried PTA?

Dear Nairalanders, I seek your advice. My wife's M.Sc certificate carries her father's surname, but her international passport is under my surname. When evaluating with WES, should I use my surname or her father's?

Greetings house, please can someone help me? I’ve been asking this question for long.🙏🏽🙏🏽

I did JUPEB in Unizik before I gained admission, now I’m trying to do my WES evaluation and they’re requesting for the JUPEB transcript and certificate to evaluate; I contacted the headquarters and they said they don’t issue transcripts.
Please if you’ve done WES evaluation here with JUPEB or you have any idea of how to go about it, please I need your help🙏🏽🙏🏽; it’s been 2 months already and I’m still stuck there.

She should use her current name.

But she’ll have to upload her marriage certificate or change of name document.

In the WES report, what you’ll see is
Her First Name, Atomiq (nee Maiden name)

Goodmorning all, so happy i stumble on this group.

Please i have some questions as am ready to register for the express entry stuff now.

First i have a bsc in linguistic and also French delf cert from alliance. ( I've not work before, am a jumia vendor).

My husband has 2 diploma cert and he's working.

Please can we both register separately or 1 person register and use the other documents as backing?

If am to register do i need to evaluate my French delf cert too and in place of work experience what do i choose?

Please i need a step by step guide too on how to even start the process as ive read so many things online and its confusing.

Thank you so much for your response and input ill be so greatful

Yes, it is a conversion to Bsc, but I will be using my HND as it gives more point for express entry.

I've always known I didn't want to stay in Nigeria and I was hoping to use Masters to japa after my undergraduate degree but Buhari became President and funds dried up, so I moved on.

But it just kept coming up in my head that I'm wasting my time here because career wise, I wasn't progressing. My mum had told me to try this thing but it seemed difficult and I knew the money wasn't exactly there so I didn't want to stress myself.

One day I reconnected with a childhood friend in PH. We hung out and everything was fine but one week later I had a call from an international number. (Oga had japad to Canada)

We talked for almost five hours on the process etc. This was the turning point for me. (November 2019) I started doing my research on nairaland and by February 2020, I paid for IELTS but then covid happened and everywhere shut down so I relaxed. Didn't write that IELTS until December that year. Everything was going well and I was confident ITA was coming because my CRS was 471 but alas draws stopped happening and I lost hope again.

My IELTS expired and I refused to rewrite because checking the projections, it was a waste of money since my score was not that high plus my birthday was around the corner but I kept seeing people getting PPR then the category draws were announced and my sister advised me to check Healthcare since my noc was closely matched with some professions there.

That's how I wrote another IELTS and less than two weeks after my results were out, I had gotten ITA with the Healthcare draw(my crs was 468, the cutoff was 463).
And that was the beginning of a stressful but fulfilling journey.

On November 28th I got my PPR, almost three months after I submitted my application. God is indeed good
It has ended in praise.

Hello house,

I have receieved NOI from OINP for French.

All the documents required for submission are available on the OINP website.

Also, there's a Telegram group for OINP (I can add you to the main group then you would have to message one of the admins so they can add you to the OINP group. You'd have to show proof of getting the NOI to be added.)

Send an email so I can add you to the main group.

Hiiii everyone I’m new here.I have some few questions
I am a newly qualified pharmacist from Ghana and I want to relocate using the express entry route.Do I stand a chance of getting it even though I don’t have experience (I only have 1 year experience of working for the government) Can that be used to show work experience? I need your input about how to go about my application so I can actually relocate through express entry.Or should I wait and gain experience before entering the express entry? I’m turning 26 this year…Please help 🙏🙏

Was the one year work experience with the Government as a Pharmacist?

If yes, then you can immigrate as a Pharmacy Assistant through Express Entry, and specifically through the Healthcare targeted draws.
And the good thing is that what you need is 6 months of experience.

Evaluate your credentials using the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) - https://pebc.ca/pharmacists/document-evaluation/applying-for-document-evaluation/#Express

It will be evaluated as a BSc in Pharmacy, and equivalent to a Professional degree.
https://www.nairaland.com/4212543/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/142#64074188

If you score a minimum of 8,7,7,7 (LRSW) in IELTS, your score should be 444. The last healthcare draw was 431

Also because your worked with the ‘Government’ you’ll most likely get an ADR, which is not an issue.

Still do your research online.

All the best.
