Who is talking about when coup started in those countries? mumu

Those countries were having their issues but never considered breaking away from Ecowas. They were doing just okay until lokoja monkey became the President of Ecowas and nonsense happened

So Burkina Faso and Mali experienced coup under the leadership of Tinubu? I now know how shallow minded you're.

What do Burkina Faso, Mali and Nigeria brings to the table? They're the poorest in West Africa.

What did you expect when they choose an old man with 12 year old brain to be the leader of ECOWAS.

Everything was fine until mumu became the leader. You remember I told you nigeria army can never defeat Niger army? those cowards retreated even before the war could start

Tinubu did not only bring shame upon ECOWAS, he also succeeded in breaking the Unity that once was enjoyed in the Region.

Giant of Africa my foot
The only Giant they can be is Giant of population nothing else grin grin grin grin

Nigeria can't fight Niger. Are you okay?

Is it going to be Nigeria vs Niger/Mali/Burkina Faso or ECOWAS vs Niger/Mali/Burkina Faso? shocked

Moreover, is Niger stronger than Chad Nigeria defeated?

I swear down. Then Chad with their arrogant leader Idris had just dealt a huge blow to Muhammad Ghadafi's Libya. Rather than cool their asses down, they took the fight to Nigeria by ceasing some areas of Borno state.

The then General Muhammed Buhari who seemed to be the military leader controlling that area then took hundreds of his men against that Chadian invading army.

The rest is history. In the first battle, they lost just 9 men but killed over 76 chadians. They pushed the chadians out, not just into Chad but all the way to their capital.

The democratic leader then, Shehu Shagari, was furious with Buhari. He told Buhari to just push them away from Nigerian soil but Buhari pushed them as far as their capital and continued the fight. He had to pull back due to Shagari's adamant insistence that he halts the campaign.

It was alleged in some quarters that this supposed weakness from Shagari in the eyes of then Nigerian military may have been a major reason the military removed him.

Ask your parents what it looked like and I don't think you'll like it.

Can you work for years without pay and a promise that your children will live in a better country?

Those are some of the sacrifices Singaporeans had to made to build such a country

See lies, when did Singaporeans had to work for years without pay? Tell us which year was that?

Even if they did whatever capital they raised will not be upto 10% of whatever resource Ghana had then... so whats our(Ghana's) excuse?

Again why should Ghanaians have to go through austerity to help build the country when the leaders are living lavishly. Why must ordinary citizens always be the ones to sacrifies and not the leaders.

Singaporean leaders were in the ditch with their people, working hard to salvage their situation. The same can not be said of Ghana leaders. You keep making excuses for your misleaders. If the leaders can show us their own sacrifies, the ordinal citizen will find no problem also sacrificing.

Today I blame Obasanjo mainly for the current state of our military. It began with him in 1999. The old generals he sacked, new ones he corrupted with oil money to take their eyes off politics.
This was how we went from an Abacha who sent some of his new recruits to North Korea for special training to the Obasanjo's and Jonathan's who could care less.

Let me help you. ....one of the largest bauxite reserve in Africa, one of the largest mangenese reserve in Africa, very large diamond deposite, huge iron ore deposite, vast arable land both thick rain forest and savana, boundless ocean, salt, largest man-made lake etc you name it. And guess what we will soon become the largest lithium producer in west africa, if not Africa and we are repeating the same mistakes we did with the other previous resources. The same old plan-find an investor to mine and export it in its raw form, he gives you peanuts he takes lion share, repatriate the profit back home, rinse and repeat. No clear strategy to own and dominate the lithium industry even in Ghana.

The truth is Ghana has failed big time. I'm a Ghanaian, and its so painful saying this.
I am not the type to tickle myself and laugh.

Ghana had a very good start in its early years, at one time we had a higher literacy rate, more phd holders and scientists etc than most African countries. We have failed woefully. The earlier we as Ghanaians know this and do something about it the better for us all.

I know my fellow Ghanaians will come for my head, but I'm ok with that. If you go to tarkwa, obuasi, bibiani etc and all the mining towns and you don't feel sorry for Ghana then its either you are not a Ghanaian or you are being delusional. I refuse to be my oppressor's praisesinger.

They never contributed much to the organization besides screwing it over in the name of France. They were super backwards French puppet states under moderate siege by terrorist.

Now there super backwards dictatorships under heavy siege by terrorist with Russians slithering around.

If your blaming Tinubu for these countries rightfully wanting to break away from parasitic France your an even bigger low IQ primate than I ever could have imagined.

It started with Kuffour and Akuffo Addo have come to continue. All the problems Ghana had faced over the last 30 years stems from Kuffour.

What do you mean? Can you give examples of this lack of trust in board room agreements?

Also, ECO was to include the Francophone countries and both of us agree it was sabotaged.

Aside that, there are also economic reasons. The fact that as you said all of these countries have been poor in management of their resources. That is the main reason there is no ECO today at least from a Nigerian perspective and what Nigerian economists were saying then. They rarely talk about France as the major problem. The economic side is more important.
