patrickmuf: Normally I don't like to chook mouth in this kind talk, but on this one I would like to share my opinion. Firstly I agree with izzou on the fact that we need to cultivate the habit of voting out a party if they failed or didn't meet up to our expectation even if it's just to send a message to those people who populate the party at that point in time. To buttress my point, I will use the Fulani Herdsmen crisis as a case study. Yes I'm aware Fulani Herdsmen-Farmers crisis has been a re-occurring issue in this country, but it never became as serious as it was under Buhari's 8 years. Yes there are rumors that the Fulanis who are terrorizing people across the country were actually foreign mercenaries brought in by APC to force Jonathan's hand if he had plans not to concede defeat in 2015. I won't dwell much on the rumor since there's no way to confirm its genuineness, but the body language of Buhari and APC as a party over the past 8 years has shown they don't have what it takes to stem the tide in the escalation of these Fulani herdsmen attacks. Yes I'm a Yoruba boy but I served in the North West at a time the entire north viewed Jonathan as a Southerner who didn't care about the boko Haram insecurity issue in the North East that time. The South and the entire North (North west, North Central and North East) agreed it was the right thing to send PDP being led by Jonathan parking because he has not shown enough grit to nip the Boko Haram issue in the bud and they voted the party out. In fact some of those in PDP with Jonathan who agreed with that viewpoint left PDP and moved elsewhere. Now fast Forward to 2023; Boko Haram did not only refuse to die in the hands of APC, but so many other insecurity issues grew exponentially under them including the Militarization of the Herders-Farmers crisis where herders now carry automatic weapons resorting to killing people and burning down villages/farmlands, different non-state actors in the Southeast and Southwest engaging in kidnapping for ransom/killings and even Banditry in the North West. It makes absolutely no sense to me that people will know all of these aforementioned facts and then still look at APC as the party that will solve these myriads of problems that grew under their watch for 8 years when majority of those who formed the party are still there . E no just make sense to me. 1 Like |

BlueRayDick:If membership of a political party is founded on sound ideology then, I'd accept the argument that a party that fails should be voted out but that is not the case. Amaechi, Saraki and other PDP stalwarts jumped ship and were placed in exalted positions in the APC yet they still lampooned the PDP for being a failure, a party they formed a core of its fulcrum... What happened to the PDP in the lead-up to the 2015 elections where Amechi and his crew decamped should have happened to the APC but the PDP missed the opportunity by handing over its ticket to Atiku. It just did not make sense that Atiku who is a Fulani man would succeed Buhari, another Fulani man, that move was a recipe for disaster and that is what prevented a lot of disillusioned politicians in the APC from leaving the party. Obi and the LP on the other hand were not an option for these political heaveweights with influence and deep pockets, no thanks to the hate for the Igbo man. Truth be told, most people who did not support Obi in the North did so because of that seed of distrust planted in their minds and secondly, the LP did not have the political machinery to penetrate some of those places which would not have been the case if Obi had flown the flag of the PDP. So, for me, I think the victory of the APC was more or less made easier by the miscalculations of the opposition... 1 Like |

You look at Doyin Okupe and his reason for leaving the LP and you realise that of truth people just jump ship looking for any vehicle (party) that will provide a platform to drive their political ambition. Otherwise, how will someone who was the erstwhile presidential campaign DG of the party say he left the party because of ideological differences...It goes to show you that regardless of the party at the centre, these politicians will shamelessly jump ship... 9 Likes 1 Share |

Roland17:The state has been captured by these politicians, most especially these APC guys. Prior to now, people could protest freely. But that is not the case anymore. These parties have ideologies. The ideology of APC is hardship and retrogression. I hate the party so much that if my father buys an APC form I'll campaign against him. So yes, party matters. 4 Likes |

patrickmuf: The bold is where our foolishness lies. Where did the hate land us? If ur kinsmen has been president for 8 years and even in his home town kidnapping still happens does it make any sense to keep voting for him and whoever he endorses? Obasanjo was president for 8 years and his people in Ogun state kept voting against him cos they didn't feel the impact of his governance in their state. What a reasonable and logical person is expected to do is distance himself/herself from anything Buhari endorses in 2023 because of how disastrous APC's 8 years rule was under Buhari. But I guess Bonhoeffer's theory of stupidity is right afterall that : "This is much certain, stupidity is in essence not an intellectual defect but a moral one. There are human beings who are remarkably agile intellectually yet stupid and others who are intellectually dull yet anything but stupid" |

See the people controlling naira ππ But why can't Cardi B, set up like three to four merchants, supply them enough dollars and use them to control the rate. Those three merchants can be selling 1$=1000, those niggars will be forced to sell at that rate. 5 Likes 1 Share

I expect our foolish government to borrow billions to force rate down. A reasonable government should set the exchange rate to be at the level where they can defend it. The billions wasted to force the exchange rate down from 1,300 to 900 some months ago could have been used to defend it at that 1300 for a relatively long time. A stable exchange rate for 7 months will have greater impact in our economy than trying to force exchange rate down which will only last a very short while. 1 Like |

patrickmuf: Okay let's punish PDP for example the other options in 2015 was APC Yet Saraki Dogara Akpabio Amaechi who we are punishing are in the savior APC we want to punish PDP for Obi Okupe GRV all former PDP goons are in Labor Say APC failed, Kogi people want to punish Smart Adeyemi in next election, they get to the ballot paper meet the same Smart Adeyemi on PDP Edo people want to punish APC for what Obaseki did to them in his first term, they get to ballot box to vote the alternative PDP, they meet the same Obaseki they are running away from Kwara people in 2015 wanted to punish PDP by voting APC, they reach ballot met the same people they wanted to punish in PDP contesting as APC Kano people want to punish Kwankwanso for PDP fuckupp in 2013 and vote APC, 2015 poll they meet him in APC, let's punish him in 2019, by 2019 poll they meet his name back in PDP, 2023 they meet his name in NNPP Let's punish APC but any APC politician who lose favor quickly jump to the next party like Alex Otti who left APC for LP By 2027 if anti APC sentiments increase and politicians see that APC will likely lose, the same APC people we are looking to punish will go to the alternative and you will end up voting for those you are seeking to punish How do we punish Wike for example? By voting APC or by voting PDP? https://www.nairaland.com/7986739/obaseki-moves-mend-fences-wike Unless na the Alphabet offend us not the politician 4 Likes |
