Enugu and the South East in general is made up mostly of small businesses, than farmers and farms. So your argument holds no water because you haven't even considered bad roads, modes of transportation, and other factors between Benue and Enugu. This is why Abuja has the advantage because it has several major agric centered states nearby not just one but about four all around.

If not the likes of ondo state which is also a civil servant state and a closer state to osun state will also be having a cheaper access to food, Enugu is closer to the food basket of the nation ( benue state )and so is anambra , in this state , food are more expensive than edo state that it is not closer to the food nation. You can also called Edo state a civil servant state. Ozuor . Even benue state also share border with cross river state ( another state with high food inflation in Nigeria ).

Benue state to Enugu is five times closer than benue to Abuja regardless of any circumstances. I am sure you don't know benue and Enugu share a border to the west. They are just stone away .


What determines food prices is largely living standard and not accessibility in many occasions . Food are likely to be more cheaper in poorer state than in rich state .
