I do not support it but Europeans teams or clubs don't do that to their players?

Most of them commenting under that Tunde Ednut post don't know ball. They are only good at insults.

What has Tinubu gotten right in these past eight months that would encourage any sane individual to give him more time?

Do you know governance more than Tinubu? Do you want us to be on the verge of bankruptcy?

The times are hard and we know. Let's give him time.

You can't count any policy Tinubu has made that's causing hardship, so please how did we get here then?..

At what point do you think it will get better?

This quote is the future of Nigeria.

You are not producing anything. The more the naira weakens, the more it becomes difficult to produce anything.

How we still need to give time again is what only me in this country doesn't understand

Itsrm:

I share your pessimism. If you bought dollar when Tinubu came on board, your money would have doubled. Do you know how crazy that is? Like what's the incentive to produce? What's the incentive to set up a company and employ people when you can just leave your money in a domiciliary account and double it. No taxes, no omo onile, no agbero, no diesel and petrol headache. How will any country grow this way?

And things will only get worse. Even Cardoso has thrown in the towel. With the full free float, he's essentially saying that if the dollar gets to 5000 to a Naira, so be it.

If i had a $1000 dollars, i would rather keep it in an account and watch it climb from 1.5 million to 1.6 million in days.

Instead of starting a business that i will struggle every single minute to survive, this is the only option.

That is why i said the scarcity is not because of hoarding. It is because nobody is willing to invest in anything

We are hitting ground zero in a matter of months.

The goal is to stabilise the Naira. They should just do anything they can to stabilise the Naira. We need brains in that CBN office. Officially I think our balance of trade is ok.

Tinubu don't really want us to go the way of SriLanka. I think those guys are coming out of their economic crises slowly. What the new guy did was to remove all subsides.

Tackling exchange rate should be the focus. Bringing down inflation should be the focus for now.

It's not by writing goals. How do you stabilise the naira?

How do you bring down inflation, when all the metrics are against it?

We used to believe we were 90% dependent on importation, but that's a lie. We are 247% dependent, and everything has been exposed when the floating started.

Let us keep waiting for the tackle until bread turns 3,000. Then maybe, just maybe, those who feel we need to give time would understand the unrepairable damage we have gotten into.

That's what the CBN governor is trying to do with the foreign remittance stuff. They are the experts. I want an Economist there but Tinubu gave us Cardoso and he should do all he can to stabilise the Naira.

let me tell you what will happen..

As cbn has directed all exchanges to use their own rate as they desire.. this is what will happen

The price of naira to dollar will shoot up to2500#/$ and by #3000/$, the cbn will step in again and start subsidizing naira again.. rinse and repeat and before tinubu 4 years, naira would be 5k/$.. then tinubu will win second tenure and then thay will be when naira will finally trade at 10k/$ after tinubu 8 years tenure..

I don't think there's any country in the world where their currency is freely floated. One way or the other the government will come in. I think CBN is now collecting receipt of NNPC sells, this will hugely be helpful in accountability. I believe with time the dollars will come into the system.

I talk this thing on May 29th 2023 while people were on this same thread justifying the removal o

BlueRayDick:

The funny thing is most people wonโ€™t understand the effect until coming days when transport costs will go high up, cost of powering households go up, productions costs go up and general costs of running businesses go up in the absence of stable electricity .

Iโ€™m interested in what labour leaders will do about the matter sha .

Don't get your hopes up about the incoming BAT government, bro. If it's actually true BAT has removed the petrol subsidy without even giving Nigerians some time to prepare for the tough times ahead, then people will wish Buhari was still the president as woeful as the outgoing administration is.

I hope it's not true BAT will remove the subsidy in this manner even after NUPENG warned him not to take that step hurriedly.

Make una see person wey una dey argue with

monerozi5590:
Tinubu just confirmed subsidy has been removed.

Tinubu tried in his speech. Na man you be.

I think Tinubu is the first president since 1999 that has reaffirmed his promises after election.

God bless Tinubu.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Government is not coming in when it is 1500

It is when it is 5,000 they want to come in.

Masterclass move, I must confess
