damosky12:Reasonable? There is nothing reasonable about aby of what you have said so far though. Nor is it reasonable to claim unfermented juice remains without alcohol when left over 3 days in the elements. Try it yourself. Put a bottle of juice in your cold fridge for a month, then try to drink it. You will find the taste has changed. Why? Fermentation. Back in Judea, there were no refrigerators and so within hours of harvest, even without going through the wine press, alcohol content was no longer zero in the fruits. Again, your claim that Jesus Christ never drank wine is ludicrous considering he served wine, made wine, and was even accused of being a drunk by those who were around him. |

Kobojunkie: I went to a Jewish university, so I can lecture you. Jews have grapes in their backyard. Gardening is a culture that civilization has stolen from us, and it is killing us. If we had gardens, we wouldn't have modern sicknesses like high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune diseases, etc. So, fresh grape juice from the vine to the cup is not uncommon. They don't need to have a refrigerator. Refrigeration is the onset of our predicament. People of old eat fresh food. Straight from the garden. Fresh soup/stew daily. You can't eat fresh food straight from the garden and prepare it within minutes and get sick. Lol. It is civilization that has made you think it is not possible. There won't be herpes, covid, staph or whatever it is. Business men selling drugs are the ones responsible for this situation. If you start eating fresh organic food, you will never want food from the refrigerator. Trust me. It always have an "after taste" that is so unpleasant to anyone who eats only fresh organic food. I started eating fresh organic food some months back, and there is this infection that is common in Lagos in Feb. It starts with a sour throat, and within 12 to 24 hours one will be down with fever, and a serious dry cough will take over. It is a killer viral infection. The first time I battled with it, my doctor gave me erythromycin. Guy, for a good 2 weeks, I was knocked out. If not for a drug (I don't want to mention it here), that cough would wound me. But then, my doctor got the right drug for it (Cefuroxime) another time that I had it. I know the symptoms, so I am always ready for it around December to March. To cut the story short, I started feeling sour throat 5 days ago, and I just forgot about the infection. It was just yesterday I called my doctor, and he reminded me that it is this period when the infection is in the air. I said...wait ooo. It is true oo. I went inside and I saw all my medications and I smiled. I said I wouldn't touch them. So, I opted for taking natural spices - cloves, turmeric with black pepper, baobab drink, ginger and garlic. The slight fever is gone and the sour throat is almost gone. Here is my point, I believe the good organic food I have been eating has built my immune system and can fight the infection. I only felt a sour throat and a slight fever. So, in those days when our parent felt slight headaches and sour throats, it was their body that fought infections. I believe there wouldn't be herpes, gonorrhoea, and many other STDs too. Oga, do not think the people of old live recklessly like us. They do not need a fridge oooo. In fact, in my house, I don't have a fridge or freezer again. I am telling you. I found out that I don't need either cos I eat fresh food. I am planning to buy like 100 plots and build my house there. And then build a food forest for myself there. I am looking towards Mowe side of Lagos/Ogun or Atan close to Ota. That Atan, I am thinking of it more cos it is close to Agbara. I am still looking at the railway from Agbara to CMS. If I see that the standard remains ok, I will go for Atan. You don't need a refrigerator when you have a garden. God bless you. |

Kobojunkie: Are you saying that there is alcohol in fresh juiced grapes? Oga, dem don wound you. Civilization has made you think a fridge is a necessity. City man. People in villages eat fresh grapes. Get that into your skull. Only in your world that can't exist. They don't need to wait for 6 hours to drink their fresh grape juice. Guy, if it doesn't exist, there won't be a need to say unfermented grapefruit exists. See eh...I laugh at your ignorance. Sorry! And I laugh harder cos you are defending a very stupid ideology. Was it not you who was writing rubbish the other time that the msg in Maggi is natural and you brought some useless research papers? Cancer is near you. Dont worry. I don't have time to argue with ignorance. |

I don't want to quote the guy called kobo-junkie cos there is something about his posts that spam bots always pick. He is just an unusual person. Please, let us use common sense when quoting research papers. He posted a paper that says there is alcohol in some food. Lol. And then another paper says that grapes will contain alcohol after 6 hours if not refrigerated. Lol. Therefore, since there was no refrigerator in those days, Jesus took alcohol. Lol. My response Not everyone who posts on NL has common sense and no wonder they say common sense is uncommon. First, would you consider pineapple that has stayed 6 hrs without refrigerating an alcoholic drink? Even if it stays for a day and it starts fermenting to the extent of having some percentage of alcohol, do you not eat it? Do you call it an alcoholic drink? Make una dey use common sense na. Now let's go into modern science. Have you eaten pineapple, grapes, fruits, strawberries, tomatoes etc that were produced in the 70s to 90s? Well, as an ecology lover, I know that all seeds have been re-engineered to have a higher brix level. We call olden days fruits wild varieties. Lol. These news breeds are diabetes partners. Lol. Pineapple, grapes, oranges, and mangoes of the old are not sweet like the ones we have now. So, if our modern fruits ferment into some percentage of alcohol within 6 hours, I believe it will take more than 7 times that for the wild fruits. Also, chemicals and fertilizers used to grow our food make us comsume less quality nutrients. Apart from the above reason, since everyone had a garden in those days, did they need to have refrigerators? Nope. Even in 2024, I don't have a freezer and a refrigerator anymore cos I don't need either again. My freezer is open 24/7. I retained it cos of party periods. In the olden days, they did not leave fresh grapes for even an hour if they wanted to consume them fresh. That civilization has erased common sense from many does not mean we are all the same. Guys, do yourself a favour, please. Go buy a land, fence it, and install a borehole there. Produce organic food, please. You will never need a refrigerator. I am telling you the truth. I have a friend who keeps grass cutters and goats. The ones he cannot eat same day he processes them, he has a special oven for drying them. Simple. You don't need a refrigerator. I don't eat anything that comes out of refrigerators anymore cos since I started eating fresh organic food, food kept on ice tastes somehow. I don't know how to explain it. A beg...make una dey use common sense ooo. No one has proved that Jesus drank alcohol or did not, so, let us allow this issue to rest |

In a 2016 study published in the Journal of Analytical Toxicology, researchers found that orange, apple, and grape juices all contain small amounts of ethanol. While that may sound concerning, ethanol — or ethyl alcohol — is a "Generally Recognized As Safe" ingredient, per the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.https://www.tastingtable.com/1038120/the-scientific-reason-some-fruit-juices-contain-alcoholCommon sense would be to educate yourself on the facts and not to build a web of lies around yourself in other to placate your mind in what is foolishness. Alcohol was never deemed sin by the God of Israel and there was absolutely nothing that stopped Jesus Christ from freely imbibing in the liquor as much as He desired. These silly lies you lot wrap yourselves in only serve to reveal how disconnected from God you all in fact are. |

AntiChristian:Animal sacrifice was never required for salvation purposes. Neither was there any such upgrade to human sacrifice as you pretend. There was absolutely no change made to the Old Law of Moses, not by any man, not even by Jesus Christ. So, you would need to be specific where exactly you got these tales from. The problem with you lot is you take your token from the mouths of ignorant religious men without in fact investigating to make sure what is written aligns with that your religious overlords spew at you. |

Common sense is uncommon - A case study on Junkie 1. Common sense should tell him to state categorically the type of food that was used for the experiment to find that ethanol is in the fresh food. Is 2010 to 2024 food same as the ones in Jesus' time? 2. Common sense should tell him that the research was done in 2010 upward or so and that the seeds are different from seeds used in Jesus' time. 3. Common sense should tell him that if modern fresh food contains alcohol, then, reactions are going in there. And could that be a reason for having sicknesses? This is why we told him that msg is bad. He was still arguing. Lol. This is why we advise you to eat only organic food. Lol. Why is cancer around now? No common sense. 4. Common sense should tell him to try to find seeds grown during Jesus' days to test if you will get alcohol from the fresh grapes. 5. If he doesn't do the above, and he relies on 2010 to 2024 research based on recent seeds that have been re-engineered and he still insists he is right, then, common sense is far away from him. Guys...that guy called kobo-junkie...please, don't take him seriously at all. Common sense is far from him. He wants to prove that drinking alcohol is not a sin which I am not ready to go into. My point is that no one has ever proven that Jesus took alcohol or did not. So, if I will take his papers seriously, it will be Jesus' time similar grape seeds that must be used for such research. Don't use 2010 to 2016 breeds that have been re-engineered and then say it has the same characteristics as the grapes available during Jesus' time. If he had common sense, he wouldn't use a research conducted over 1,000 years after Jesus and apply it to His days. Ha ba! What kind of sense is that? You want to use the result of plants in 2016 to Jesus' time. Is that not stupi.dity? It means the fellow is a quack, and he accepts all papers thrown at him. Mehn! What kind of sense is that? In these bio-tech days...you are saying the plants we have now have the same attributes with those of Jesus' days. Here is a typical example of educated illiterate. A beg...common sense is seriously uncommon. |

AntiChristian: Jewish are/were alcoholic is not the subject, but if it is, does it equate to Jesus drinking alcohol? OMG! I am just seeing how Nigerians reason logically. Russians drink tea without milk. Does it translate to Putin drinking tea without milk? British drink tea with milk. Does it translate to a British born by Russian parents in the UK drinking tea with milk? Look at the two statements. Can you see the complications there? If you can't see it, I cannot discuss it with you cos I don't have time to discuss it with kobo-junkie kind of person. Based on your comment, here is what you are going to do: 1. Prove beyond reasonable doubt that Jewish were (note...past tense ooo) alcoholic. You will prove that they were alcoholics during Jesus' days. 2. Prove beyond reasonable doubt that Jesus took alcohol, and the evidence must be in the Bible because you wrote that he did according to my Bible. Let me tell you my stand again: This is a debate that is older than a century and no one has been able to prove or disprove that Jesus took alcohol or did not. Even Aristotle tried, but couldn't. Please, do not ask me for my proof because I have written it in this thread. If you don't know, then you are careless in rushing things. So, I encourage you to check my posts in this thread. If you cannot prove the two above, then, you are wasting your time. You will need to really sit down and examine your life as an anti-Christ if it is really worth it. I am not admonishing you to be a pro-Christ. Nope. I don't have a problem with atheists...infact, they are my good friends. I just need you to have something upstairs and have common sense like I do if we are to discuss. Don't be like kobo-junkie who decided to use a 2016 research study to back up his claim about what happened over 2,000 years ago. Who does that? Common sense no dey there at all. A kindergarten kid will even shake his or her head in disbelief. |

You can easily spot a Religious man by the way he spews logical fallacies with abandon. Alcohol was never a sin in the land of Israel. God of Israel promotes the drinking of alcohol in the land. Jesus Christ Himself an israelite made bold that He did only the will of His Father, the God of Israel. Jesus Christ never once condemned the drinking of Alcohol, and was knowing to eat and drink with even the sinners in the land. Jesus Christ was even accused of being a glutton and a drunk by the religious among the people who had issue with his conduct. |
