What you get when cheating runs in the blood of many. Wage and salary earners are the worst hits by this madness as they can't increase their pay easily unlike traders. 138 Likes 9 Shares |

That's what happens when a trade is oversaturated. Instead of 100 mega stores selling groceries, 1000 road side stalls are, and everyone wants to make enough to cover their needs. They have to hike prices of goods they sell. The reasonable thing will be for some of the hands doing retailing to move closer to the wholesale and production part of the whole product life cycle. Instead of risking going into farming and start making reasonable amount of money, they form a union, regulate prices and continue with their lives. The end users suffer the cost. 50 Likes 4 Shares |

Damnnn niggar Though I'm ardent hater of tinubu But Nigerians are wicked and wants to take advantage of every situations to enrich themselves And do you know another funny thing We Nigerians are actually not angry about corruption we are just pretending to be angry because we are not the ones carrying out the corruption Should I add more? We Nigerians are not angry about the way our government is treating us we are just pretending to be angry because it is not our tribesmen or religion persona in power That is to say or if we sum it up Nigerians are hypocrites, tribalistic, wicked and fake 215 Likes 19 Shares |

They are. Once they heard price of dollar has increased, these folks will automatically increase the prices of items. I keep wondering if Naira is Nigeria currency or dollar. The one I can't fathom till date is garri. No part of garri processing involves dollar, but the price keeps skyrocketing. When I entered Lagos 2018, a paint rubber of garri was sold N400. How it becomes N2500 today I don't understand. 94 Likes 6 Shares |

Nigeria is the only country wey be say prices of things dey go up but can never come down. That's why we're all scared of increase in prices. The thing be say Nigerians are wicked by default and are full-time hypocrites. We deserve the kind of leaders wey we dey get. No matter how the economy good reach, the already increased prices of goods won't come down. An evil country with evil leaders and evil citizens. I get so angry discussing the situation of this country. What do I even know sef aside enlightening my fellow men nationwide. Are you just coming to Nigeria for the first time. If they don't blame Petrol, they will blame tax, if they don't blame tax they will blame Dollar.. Once price goes up it never comes down, if only useless Agencies like SON and Fccpc are doing their jobs. There is no scarcity of food in Nigeria because, despite the skyrocketing prices, goods are still available to buy. I just feel Nigerians like to take advantage of bad situations to increase prices. However, what goes around comes around. 36 Likes 3 Shares |

There is a need to build a price regulatory body at the local level. The deliberate hike in price of commodity is coming directly from those men in the villages and markets selling farm products. The people are the problem and not entirely the government See this thread below https://www.nairaland.com/7994221/major-reason-why-food-other#128344421 16 Likes |

We Nigerians are very terrible people. Look at the recent increase in cement which is wholely produced in Nigeria, no justification for it whatsoever. We take advantage of ourselves then turn around to blame the government. To buy even Bitterkola now, you will hear Dollar don rise 19 Likes 2 Shares |

Yes! Most traders are liars, selfish and greedy. You'll find them pretending to be loving but wickedness and selfcenterdness has built skyscraper in their minds. They join others to blame the politicians, whereas they are more devilish 25 Likes 3 Shares |

Yes I saw plenty of sachet water from a woman close to me, I bought #50 own she gave me 2sachets only for me to come back the following day, wanted to buy same water I bought yesterday, she gave me 1sachet for #50. I said madam, wetin happen? She said pure water don add money! for the same water wey you buy plenty yesterday wey never nearly finish I just collected it and leave. Told myself instead of me to buy sachet water 50 naira for one, I'd rather buy bottle water. And almost everyone in my area sells 2 for #50. When she realized that people no longer go to buy from her shop again, she has to adjust to normal price. She saw me yesterday and told me, my pikin water na 2 for #50 now 56 Likes 4 Shares |

Yes! Nigerians are the most wicked people on earth. The masses take advantage of every opportunity to punish themselves, traders will never tell you when prices of commodities drop. What you always hear them say is "e don cost o"....... What you bought N300 could increase to N600 the next minute. Las las na Tinubu dem go blame. Demons! 18 Likes 2 Shares |

To some extent; Yes But those still selling at an exorbitant price of a commodity, are still doing so, because those stocks were purchased before the fall of dollar rate. 1 Like 1 Share |

To be sincere, Nigerians in general are worse than evil. We only complain about the government whereas individual people of this country are doing more harm than good. The increment of price of goods and commodity always start from the retailers. When the suppliers find out about the new price in market, they also increase their price and then the manufacturer end up doing the same. The circle continues this way. Last year when I went to market to buy things, the price I heard was way too higher than the usual price. The market women told me that there is an increase in general in the price. I left her and went to another shop. You won't believe that I bought it the same price I bought it last. Things like this occur among artisans, transporters and all other businesses you could think about. Until we all start changing our ways, things will never get better in this country. 18 Likes 1 Share |
