It's wrong what she did. She can be sued. If your tenant is owing there's also a provision for it in the law. There's a way you go about it and it's the court that will come break open his door and move his things and after done some time if he fails to pay up his things will be sold off in an auction and the proceeds given to the landlord whether up to the money owed or not |

BigYash: Stop encouraging tenants, they pay their rents, if you can't pay pack out, the owner of the house do have responsibilities, it's not good living in someone's house and not paying rent. You de talk about law, na law the landlady go eat. Or na court build house for the landlady, you guys should encourage them to pay their rents if they can't afford it move out. 1 Like |

LagosG: Very good point. You'll be battling with the nuisance constituted by government on one hand yet the citizens constitute the nuisance more. Extremely foolish people dwelling in Nigeria. You don't have any excuse to owe rent. Rent an apartment you can afford and pay your rent as at when due or go stay in your village. It's evil to be eating 3 square meals while owing rent. Don't stay where you can't afford. 1 Like |

She may end up in jail and regret if the tenant knows her legal right. She ought to have seek legal redress. The tenant will move out or get his or her things properly accounted for and evacuated by a court bailiff on the instructions of the honourable court. But now she played into the tenant's trap.. it is well |

Blakjewelry: Those laws favour tenants that's why they abuse such privilege in Nija, you can't have issues of rent with your landlord when you are abroad, you must pay,but for Nija,it's a useless law that protects only the tenant and that's why we always hear issues of landlord tenant in Nigeria, that useless law is been ABUSED ruthlessly by troublesome tenants,it needs to be reviewed. 1 Like |

Jennyclay: I still wonder why most people don't like to pay their rent until they are embarrassed. It is sheer wickedness by most tenants. When you do the calculation by dividing your rent by numbers of days in a year you will be very surprised how so cheap rents are compared to the amount you spend on USELESS things daily. If you are paying for example #30,000 a year, that is just #82 a day not up to a hundred. If you are paying #150,000 a year that is #410 per day. If #500,000 per year, that is #1370 per day. If #1,000,000 per year, that is only #2,720 daily. People spend this on a daily basis on things they can't even account for because it is chicken change. You will find a person who makes thousands of Naira a day but will still be dragging with their landlord to pay their rent of #30,000 which is just #82 per day. It's just sheer wickedness by most tenants. Why won't you want to pay for being sheltered. You will see them kneeling down begging when the want to rent. After the pack in, they become devils. |

Oghene86:Bros I didn't encourage them not to pay. But breaking into a tenants house is a no for me. Use police and your lawyer instead. My people talk say if you no catch thief well, the thief fit turn around to catch you and call you thief.. Na why in everything you do,ensure you follow the right procedure. |
