Inconsistent Govt policies. The other time it was TBills issue, this week's own, MPR rate palaver... grin

It is not really inconsistent government policy because they already signalled it will happen. It is some oga coming to make it big deal here. The motive na him dem never tell us.The FA of quoted companies has always been the koko when we joined this business many moon ago..why didn't the same monetary policy perform wounders during pmb tenure in the stock market at low rates.
We are told the stock market is a reflection of the macroeconomic of a country .And naija is definitely heading for better days.

You made some valid points here though.

What still baffles me was the correlation btw stock dumping and the measures taking to curb inflation....
I'd thought it should be the other way round......i.e. market is supposed to respond positively to NGX, just like investors will respond positively to other instruments.

I understood many may want to take the funds to more stable instruments but, isn't the rate also a positive one for the economy if we look at it as a means of improving the economy too?

I be newbie and na evening school I go, not a financial student grin

Looks like some big funds are mopping up Bank shares. With the lead in FBNH. Some people may lose out selling cheaply if they are not skilled traders. I think Nigerian banks are still under-priced especially those that can reduce impairment losses in this tough times. Their book values will continue to soar along with their earnings per share. The only con I see is some people bad mouthing Nigeria Bank profits in this current clime. Luckily they are not in leadership positions in Government.

I checked a few minutes ago. All the available offers for OANDO were cleared. Silent mopping (betting) on Oando is ongoing.

OANDO from N9 is sighted back @10.45
Battle for the soul of OANDO.....
Peter will come and tell us how he exited the ones he bought at 10.95 and reloaded @9.

GTB seems to have turned it's back against the bear.......true or false? We'll know as market progresses..... smiley
.

The price fluctuations cycle would repeat itself again in Oando by the 3rd - 4th week of March;

Yesterday was supposed to be the board meeting of NASCON
Any info on the outcome of the meeting?
I am surprised Nascon truly had the meeting yesterday and there was no prior notification .This is a surprise as only prior notification of Dangote sugar was known

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 4:45pm On Feb 29
Actually it held two days ago.
Now the manipulations of Tuesday makes sense... wink

i tell you.

as long as the auditors are human beings who have friends and relatives and the directors have distant relatives and friends unknown to the exchange, they can use them as proxies to manipulate.

So do we infer that what has played out in the past few days was dumping or mopping as regards Nascon??

Something must be brewing in TRANSCORP....
It refused to participate in yesterday's dumping and refuse to close on full offer!
The volume buyers are in market already again....

Meanwhile, ACCESS @18 from 16+!! shocked
UBA now @21.50 from 19+
FBNH @27
TRANSCORP is likely to see N30 in few weeks ahead all things being equal.
