Uyo doesn't look like capital of large volume oil producing state. It's look like village.
From the pictures you can see there's a large volume of poverty in this capital city. you can imagine the poverty in other locagovernment.

Village looking capital city. Africa standard.

Village looking capital city. Africa standard.
The same village capital is infrastructurally more developed than the village capital of your state.
I am sure Uyo dwarfs the capital of your state by every standard.

Akwa-Ibom, Beautiful state. They made good use of their Oil money. Huge money with very little people.

Uyo is actually Nigeria's best kept secret.

But they should do more by bringing their people out of poverty. They have one of the poorest people in southern Nigeria.

Infrastructures alone do not build people, Human Capital Development does.

Akwa-Ibom Ayaya!

What is the primary duty of any government? The answer to this question answers the question as to if Nigeria is doomed or not.
Bandits, terrorists, fulani herdsmen, kidnappers etc are all holding Nigeria hostage, yet you believe that Nigeria is not doomed.
We can all agree that the high level of insecurity has contributed to the hardship that Nigerians are experiencing right.
We can continue to be economical with the true, even when the truth is starib at us in the face.

Uyo people should look for something that works for them, because waiting for government, is like waiting for them to pay 500k minimum wage.
People used to ignorantly mock Owerri as having only hotels.... today, it's not only the most beautiful city, but destination choice for estate developers, individuals, expatriates etc.

Modern houses have started sprouting in Uyo. The day Akwa Ibom will fix its human development issues, that's the day we will beat even cities like Cape Town.

I wish Umo Eno can open up another part of the state like Ibeno or Abak, build infrastructure to make them good towns

Paracetamol01:
I am from akwa ibom...akwa ibom is too slow in development like river state were every local government is growing rapidly

There's no single basis to compare Aks with Rivers. Aks is just 37 years while Rivers is over 57 years.

Aks is trying to put everything in the state from it's purse, Rivers State is the work of both FG and State.

Mention just one thing FG has built in Aks and I can mention 100s being built in Rivers.

Trust me, the state is growing year after year and when human development is done, it will become a destination of choice.

You should compare Rivers to Lagos or Abj, then compare Lagos to Johannesburg.
