Valto:Thanks. About to order for 4pcs 435w as I already have 24v cc, inverter and charger. BUT, everyone says 48v system is best so maybe I should just get the 550w(x2) instead? That way I will be future-proof, but will 2x550w pv work well with a 24v system(for now)? |

jidobaba: Check the max input for your charge controller input. If your PV is far away from you charge controller then it is best to use higher voltage (or series connection of your PVs) since thicker cables would be very expensive. All these is to minimize your I squared R losses. The 48volts they are talking about is for your battery bank. With 48v your system would have less losses mainly then the inverter would be cooler since the higher the voltage the less the current. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good evening bosses. Please is there an alternative to top balance new lifepo4 cells? Or how can I top balance without buying a bench dc charger as I cannot afford that for now. If there is an alternative, I'll be very happy to hear it. |

lovediehatelive:Been charging with similar CC for 3 years. Excellent for one phone connected. With 2 phones, it simply shares the current to the 2 phones - slower charging. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 6:54pm On Mar 05 |
Danibestguy: Charge in series with your regular charger until battery is full. Remove charger and parallel your LiFePo4 batteries. Get a cheap DC-DC adjustable converter and you are good to go. Use your regular 12v or 24v external charger as input. Add a small fan if the converter runs hot. 1 Like

Can the balancer work as well as the traditional way? Also, do I use the batteries while the balancer is working or I let it do it's thing first before usage? brightk: |

Pls bosses in the house, Does the inscription on this AGM battery mean it can be charged at 80Amps??

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Danibestguy: 7:54pm On Mar 05 |
mctfopt: Do you mean when the highest charged battery Is full? And how does the converter work? Does it transfer charges from the highest to the lowest? Also for the converter connection, is the inverter/external charger going to be connected directly to the converter or to the battery? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 9:01pm On Mar 05 |
Danibestguy: If you don't, have basic knowledge of DIY, you may need someone that does, for this. Lemme still explain how this should work. To top balance batteries means to charge batteries in such a way that all the batteries are equally charged to the same voltage. To make this happen, you'll have to connect all the cells in parallel and charge till the charging current goes to zero. To connect this DC -DC converter, your charger is the input, and the output (after adjusting voltage to 3.4v) goes to the cells you want to balance. Find attached the LiFePo4 cells being connected in parallel pending top balancing. Please do not attempt any of this stuff by yourself if you don't have the basic knowledge of batteries connection and electricity. 1 Like
