Mike Tyson beat up Andrew Golota so badly that Golota quit in the middle of the fight, leaving the heavyweight legend and the crowd furious. Looking back at Mike Tyson's remarkable boxing career, one of the most bizarre moments occurred in the early 2000s, during his fight against Polish heavyweight Andrew Golota. 'Iron Mike' was on a winning streak at the time, having returned from a 15-month ban related to biting Evander Holyfield. In fact, the fight was expected to be another straightforward victory for Tyson at The Palace arena in Michigan, and he didn't disappoint in the early stages, dominating the opening round. Tyson ultimately asserted his dominance by knocking down Golota with his signature right hand, a strike that rattled the Polish heavyweight. The Olympic bronze medalist managed to stand up, but that powerful hook had inflicted significant damage. Golota appeared shaken in his corner as trainer Al Certo offered encouraging words, but the fighter could be heard pleading, "Stop the fight!" on two occasions. Despite acknowledging his distress, Golota pressed on to face Tyson for a second round. Yet, once again, he found himself unable to cope with Tyson's formidable style. Nevertheless, Golota remained on his feet, and his trainer, Al Certo, maintained a positive attitude in the corner at the conclusion of round two. After enduring such a relentless assault, Golota, a powerfully built heavyweight standing at 6ft 4in with heavy hands, decided it was time to call it quits. Andrew Golota refused to answer the bell for round three, which angered his trainer, Al Certo, so much. Certo could be heard shouting "get out there!" and even attempted to insert his mouthpiece, but the Polish fighter refused, creating a quite remarkable scene. Minutes later, as Golota made his way to the dressing room, angry fans hurled various items at him as he exited the arena. However, his trainer, Al Certo, later issued an apology for criticizing his fighter, Andrew Golota, for not responding to the bell for the third round. He explained that he was unaware of Golota's severe injury at the stoppage, admitting that a fighter's health is always a priority over continuing a fight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxTixeK4rI8
