do4luv14: Armwrestling helped them. They got 41 medals there alone, 8 golds, 19 silvers and 14 bronze..just in arm wrestling alone. It pushed them up. |

lovewins: I asked this question on another thread from those pushing for Amunike. If He is a foreign coach with his CV and record, would they clamour for him to be employed as super eagles coach.? Our indegenous coaches need to be active. Otto Addo was part of the coaching crew at Dortmund, an ex Ghana international, now Ghana Coach. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

opes: The simple reason I am clamoring for Amunike is he is the best when it comes to delivering the possessive offensive philosophy. He understands the modern game and trained fully in it. If we had someone like Addo as a Nigerian I will call for him but we don't. Addo is also sound in the modern game. Has a lot to do with Pep Guardiola's influence on German football. It will be hard for us to pull a foreign coach well versed in the modern game, that is why the clamor for Amunike. It is not just about CV but delivering the philosophy. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Truidstarr: 9:13am On Mar 24 |
TheGoodJoe:Am sure you guys are aware that it takes time to imbue the so called “philosophy” on players of the national team. The coach just has 2 to 3 days to train with the players. The players go back to their clubs to a different system. Till the next international break. It’s in a tournament situation the philosophy will work. Spain did well in the past as most of the squad was from Barcelona and the national team coach did not have a lot of work to do. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:20am On Mar 24 |
Truidstarr: That is even the reason why we need someone who can keep the team learning the philosophy in years. Not viewing it per game. Every time the players are in camp, they keep learning. They keep growing and understanding it. Also it requires players that naturally connect with the system. Just as we saw with Taminu. It is better than getting a coach based on CV that does cut and join process and after years, you will see that the team has not grown. |

TheGoodJoe:mk we hear word abeg. Who get time to dey wait for players to absorb the Philosophy of a coach in international football It can only work when 50% of a team’s players are assemble from a particular club. A good example is Spain’s euro and World Cup winning squad Amuneke should take up a job in any of our local clubs or in the continent to perfect what ever coaching philosophy he believes in rather than sit idle waiting and lobbying for super eagles job when he has done nada to justify that he is good for a job of such magnitude Finidi was considered to be good enough to assist Jpes because of his exploits with Enyimba and currently pencilled down to serve in the same capacity with the next coach as well as head the coaching crew of the Chan eagles. By so doing he is gradually been groomed to take over the post of head coach of the super eagles in the nearest future I bet you that if Finidi happen to do wonders in the super eagles with the incoming coach as well as do well with the chan team he stands a better chance coaching the super eagles in the future than Amuneke who’s presumed philosophy and expertise is only on paper U shared the same classroom with the best graduating student of your set in uni no mean say u sabi book 😏 2 Likes 3 Shares |

AndSunGorilla: I agree. This frankly is what I expect from those who are pro-amuneke. You didn't shy away from his record, but also provided some context to his advantage. Like I said earlier, I used to be very pro Amuneke, a little less today but not anti he becoming the super eagles coach. What I don't expect any of us to do is use different metrics of judgement to access him cause he's our fav. 2 Likes |

lovewins: He should apply for coaching jobs in top Npfl clubs which I believe he will easily get based on his profile as ex Nigerian international. Jobs like that aren’t difficult to get for pple of his status in 9ja What so ever philosophy he has should be put on display for all to see for judgement to be passed if truly he is good enough for the senior national team job Clubs like Akwa United, Rangers even sporting of Lagos and Remo stars will gladly want someone of his caliber around the the club. Coaching profession most times is not by your qualification but achievements which will open doors for big opportunities. They are coaches with the same qualification he has that are finding it difficult to get jobs They are a lot of coaches that shared the same class with him, pep, giggs and others that are yet to make a name in coaching, ex players like Scholes, Gary Neville, Seedolf etc are all certified coaches but couldn’t achieve anything when they got a chance. Neville’s woeful stint with Valencia humble am till date 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Paul Scholes flopped big time as a coach at Oldham Seedolf flopped in laliga with Deportivo, ventured into national team coaching with Cameroon and couldn’t achieve anything Mk Amuneke show workin no be Cho Cho Cho 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 1 Like 1 Share |
