Nope.
It's because the solar panel energy is oversized and the Grid has been made the last option to draw energy from.
So the inverter draws as much power as possible from the panels, Charges Battery if the SOC is less than 60%, Powers up the smartLaod interface which is where Water heaters and ACs are connected. With one ACs connected to the UPS Load interface.
If at night time and the battery SOC drops to 40%, the SmartLaod Interface shuts off, and if the Battery SOC drops further to 20% and the sun is not up, Grid interface is turned on to handle the energy demands till sun up.
Take a look at the attached picture. It's 10Am and am grabbed more than 6Kw from the panels already.
It goes up to like 15kw sometimes.

What is ur pv capacity and type of inverter?

What is ur pv capacity and type of inverter?

The picture has all the details. But since you asked.

PV is 15KWp (16x 600w Canadian Solar Panels. 10x 540w Felicity Solar Panels)
Inverter is Deye 8KW EU Model x2 in parallel
Battery is Felicity 15KW x4 in parallel though capacity test topped off at 13.5KW. So I have 54KW Battery literally.

This is 90% of total capacity which is quite fair.

Did you use SPD for the inverter AC Output?

it depends, my friend has a private student hostel in Uyo, generator is banned, he installed solar and installed prepaid meter in every room...When we last spoke he was selling at about 200 naira per kwh.. And you can't draw more than 150 watts at once, the guy no de ever get vacant room..... But at the moment, i am discussing with another company to come and do the same for me in UNN nsukka for a private student hostel, meanwhile the same company have given me there rate, its 100 naira from 8am to 4pm (when its sunny), and 158 naira from 4pm to 8am the next day.
I was equally working on the cost of installation, considering the high cost of materials and how long it would take to get back the invested cash.
Many of us are looking for short term business. grin grin

Oga TechGeek777,
Please come and do this business analysis for us.
If 9m is used for the installation, how long will It take us to get our money back at the selling rate of #200 per kWh?

Boss, you want set me up abi?

I fit try help small shall.

Kindly tell me these params:

How many individuals will be using your service(Energy)?

How many KWh will they require per hour at least?

What's your total Energy supply capability?

Nope.
SPDs are attached to the PV inputs and AC input only.
AC inputs and Outputs, PV inputs and Batteries all have breakers respectively.

Would you have advised otherwise?

in a good hotel you can raise the rates higher, 500 naira per Kwh sef is nothing. they have customers that cannot stay one second without AC... And thats premium if you ask me... Plenty hotels nowadays they only on gen in the evening... Upon say e cost...

Open box Sachet inverter up for sale.

Specs:
2000W 24V

Reason for selling:
Couldn't be used for the project I planned on using it for. Had to settle for a transformer based inverter.

Duration of use:
Not used at all. Just tested for some minutes. It was waybilled to me by @valto and I took delivery of it 2 days ago (23rd March 2024) . Installation was attempted today (25th March 2024).

Asking price:
87k

Hit me up if you are interested.

Honestly, I keep asking myself this same question "why do people still buy tubular"? I saw a new project some days ago, the tech guy arranged about 20 tubular batteries for the client. I just shake my head and pass

what u seek is almost impossible to find as a single unit...48v 1500w, minimum 48v i have seen is 3.2kw
only option is to buy separate 48v charger and satchet inverter 48v

It's not impossible, you can import it from china

Just buy 2 more pcs and go on 3S2P connection. Otherwise, 2S2P is your best shot and you can't get the best out of it.

Please clarify your comment and fix typos.. I currently have 4pcs 400w so adding 2 to it would be 6pcs so how it the connection going to be for maximum results? Also, why did you say I can't get the best out of it??

24v 100ah for 518k.
12v 280ah for 778k
12v 160ah for 445k

The 160ah is how many kWh?

2s2p is your best shot

Thanks for your input.. I eventually connected the 4pcs of 400w panels 2s2p and this image attached is the average result I get on a daily (2days monitoring).

Is this good enough or improvement is required to charge 2units of 12v 200ah.. Meanwhile I use a 5kva 24v inverter if that's necessary to know..

All inputs are highly appreciated

There was no typo in my response.
From the Panel Datasheet you attached your VOC is 46.5V per panel. You have a CC with System voltage of 150V.
A series connection will give you 186V. So you can't do a series connection of the 4 panels.
A system that have a max voltage of 150V will have a starting voltage from around 80V or more.
Doing a 2 series and 2 parallel connection will give you 93V which is not going to optimize your yields.
Thus my recommendation for a 6 panels of 3 in series and 2 parallel which will give you a 139.5V and way above your Starting Voltage.
The implications of this is that your system will start yielding as soon as the sun comes up in the sky.
Otherwise you'll have to wait for intense sun to start yielding.
