Passengers travelling through the Port Harcourt International Airport on Wednesday were stranded as major flights were disrupted due to an ongoing protest by residents of Omagwa and Ipo communities in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The protest, which took place at the entrance to the airport, was fueled by grievances over the lack of power and other essential services in the communities hosting the international airport.

The demonstrators, numbering in large crowds and gathering as early as 7 am, barricaded the airport entrance, leading to a halt in flight operations.

As a result, passengers were left stranded, and traffic congestion extended from the Airport Road to nearby towns.

The protesters voiced their frustration, citing a lack of compensation despite enduring regular noise pollution from the airport.

Oki, one of the protesters, lamented the neglect of their communities by airport authorities.

“We in Omagwa and Ipo don’t have light for over 10 years. We want compensation for the noise pollution coming from the airport every day. We are tired. That is why we are here,” she said.

I love the caliber of the people protesting, they're all youths! Goverment should as a matter of urgency restore light to that community hosting the airport.

I left..!

LETS SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES TO HEAR KEYAMO'S VOICE THIS TIME.

ANOTHER SLEEPING MINISTER.

AIRPORT SHOULD BE DESIGNATED FEDERAL BUILDINGS, ANYONE MISBEHAVING INSIDE AN AIRPORT SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

AIRPORTS SHOULD BE 100% OFF LIMITS TO ANY KIND OF PROTEST. (SET A 2 MILE RADIUS)

WE HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF NEAR MISSES, EVEN THE OBEDIENT GUY INSIDE THE PLANE.

ITS TIME FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO SET A FEW EXAMPLES SO PEOPLE KNOW, YOU DONT MESS AROUND IN THE AIRPORT.

DRUGS,ARMS,PROTESTS SHOULD ALL CARRY STIFF FEDERAL PENALTIES.

WE DONT HAVE TO WAIT FOR A DISASTER TO PUT IN PLACE MEASURES TO GUARD AGAINST IT.

Do they have Electricity office in the airport arena? Or are they expecting the airport to power their community? They should go to their representative.

Why should both the state and federal government wait for protest by citizens for them to do the needful. Ten years, a community hosting such a big international airport has no light and these big men are not ashamed.

Here is a story about a math teacher sleeping with students for grades who eventually gets one pregnant, and the students set a trap for him. Relax and enjoy the story.

It was just another day at Chrisland Secondary School in Lagos, Nigeria. The students were bustling through the hallways, eager to get to their next class. For some, that meant math with Mr. Adamu.

Mr. Adamu was a tall, slender man in his late 30s. He had been teaching at Chrisland for over 5 years and was considered one of the better math instructors. However, rumors had been swirling for a while about his unethical behavior with female students....

Normally, all the oil producing states in Nigeria supposed to have at least 20 hrs of light/power everyday because they are the economic power of this country. This is not a rocket science if not corrupti00n, tribalism and nepotism in Nigeria.
