that's why government cannot ban importation of petroleum under any circumstances like they did for cement.

Dangote should compete with imported product for a fair price.

Imported diesel can NEVER be cheaper than locally produced diesel.

1. You act like Dangote is government owned. It is not.

2. It was PDP that actually laid the policy framework for private refineries to be possible.

3. Those in power today condemned PMS at 145 and diesel at 400, but today are celebtating PMS at almost 700 and diesel at 1,300.

pdp had 16 years and all they had up show was frame work.
16 fucking years o?

I'm not here to defend any party, but trust me when I say, apc is not your problem but politicians.

I'm not here to defend apc but don't put pdp in the same sentence as apc when it comes to success and failure.

While pdp had 16 years and all they delivered were frame work, apc actually delivered projects after projects.

Dangote refinery is there and it has competition in state own refineries like pH refineries that the military and pdp like obasanjo said it will never work.

Gej commissioned photo of 2nd niger bridge while apc pretty much started and delivered the project.

Obj played politics with lagos ibadan Express road, apc delivered it. And don't get me started on rail projects o.

These are strategic infrastructural projects that all pdp had to show for it in 16 years is looting and framework.

And you are buying petrol for 700 today because the failure of pdp to make refinery work because they were busy looting and dropping framework.
But I'm guessing you know that but you are too biased to admit it.

Anyways, enjoy.

may be or may be not.

But it should be there, people will buy the one that is cheaper.

Not that they will ban it outrightly.

Elementary economics will teach you what importation does to a country' s economy.

The major bulk of the pressure on the dollar that increases the need for dollar in Nigeria is the importation of petroleum products. Now that a private refinery is taking off and another Govt refinery is in the horizon, you are still clamouring for the importation of petroleum products.

What to do actually want? Or maybe I should ask, what do you know?

basic comprehension skill will let you kmow that I'm asking government to not let dangote monopolize the petroleum sector by banning importation of petrol like they did with cement.

Let dangote compete with international market price instead of allowing him to pull price from his butthole because there is no competition.

Supply petrol May to dealers at N1,225/litre? 😭😭

He hasn't even supplied the crazily expensive diesel and people are already jubilating? Ahhhh!

What's the idea behind the "humiliating" comments on this thread? I don't get it. Do you people think that you and your households will still be able to afford the pump price?

One reason the country remains backward is because of the number of people waiting to celebrate stup!dity.

Where did you see in the report that petrol will be supplied at N1225/litre? And also where did you see them state that diesel is yet to be supplied by Dangote?

Are you sure you read the report at all?

Clearly not. Most people don't read the actual article the headline is based on and rush to make comments. I must confess I have done so a few times myself.

Still bought 1700 this morning in Jos, these pple re only interested in being at Forbes list, that’s how bua promised cement at 3500 , nobody bought at that price , only to take it to 11k in 2months, only Allen Onyema has been fair to Nigerians, air lifting stranded Nigerians in troubled countries free of charge, few days ago he crashed Lagos -London flight to 1.2m from 3m and 5m from virgin Atlantic and British Airways, dangote and bua must learn from these man

A filling station directly opposite Guru Marahji in Ibadan was selling it N1,420 on Monday the 1st of April 2024.

Nipco at Ibafo was selling at N1,400 that same day.

The price will keep coming down, as supply circulates and marketers buy more volume. Some of them have not been buying at all. Only a few are still buying from him, due to the fact that they are perfecting their registration with either Dangote or with a major marketer or they still have old stock in their tanks.

We shouldn’t forget that when PH refinery adds its own, a few quids could drop off it.

Before August, production cost should be dropping for manufacturers and logistics costs too would drop and drive down prices of commodities.

And which blueprint was apc using to work when people started holding them to account?

I agree that politicians all a terrible bunch, but indices today clearly show nigeria was better off under pdp than apc.

Pdp built over 7 power plants.

Built rail lines

Opened up the telecom sector

Ensured stability of exchange rate

Ensured stability in food prices and so many other things.

The only biased people are those who condemned a fuel price of 140 and are today celebrating a fuel price of 600

Why do you need blue print to build roads or rail projects that everyone knows since the independence of the country that the country needs?

I'm sure if they fix power problem today, you will still refer to some imaginary blueprint or framework.

Like seriously?
Stability of exchange rate, pdp met dollar at 22 naira and left it at 212 naira.
Stability Una. Thats over 1000% increament compared to 500% of apc

Did pdp build state own network or something? They privatized the sector and technology took care of the rest.

The likes of atiku was busy selling state owned telecommunications company (nitel) that could have made data and calling cheap today based on existing infrastructure for peanut and collecting kick backs.

Now the rest of the world is enjoying unlimited LAN data based on old technology that nitel had while Nigerians are stuck with thieves like mtn and Airtel

Pdp hardly did anything right for the horrible 16 years.

I had to quote all of you on Front page capping dust
President Tinubu met the fuel price at 169,he took it up to around 700 and now brought it down to 540
The dollar was 700, when he got there, he almost tripled it. Now it is around 1200.
A bag of rice.... You know that pitiful story.

I just need to update you guys that, before you people start capping nonsense, tell President Tinubu that he should at least put these necessities to the prices they were at before.
Then If he truly can be a good "PRESIDENT",
He can then bring down the prices from there.
Otherwise, all of you are cappers saying rubbish.

Let prices of things come down and the ₦ appreciates further,at least even if to the ₦650 BAT met it.
The way people on all sides of the Nigerian divide lie with full chest, particularly on nairaland,is astounding.

They want people to rejoice for diesel selling (at wholesale price by the way, minimum of 1m liters) for 1300 meanwhile, when they came in it was 550, that's almost triple the price. Smh

So what was the essence of apc condemning the pdp if it was just going to be worse than the pdp it criticised?

Every nation needs a blueprint or else you end up building rail lines to maradi when your country's own rally links are underdeveloped.

The exchange rate as at 1999 was about 90 to a dollar, I don't know where you got your N22 from.

Atiku and emefile, who is worse?

Bottom line is that Nigerias were better off under the pdp than they are today.

It is ridiculous that what people condemned under the pdp is now acceptable.
