PDP helped Wike as much as Wike helped PDP

After 2015 when they lost and every major PDP power dispersed, It was Wike who held fort even when everyone in this Atiku camp were in PDP including this Atiku, Saraki Dino etc were in APC. I saw Dino attacking Ortom for being against PDP, when Dino himself was one of those who joined to sink PDP in 2015

Wike would have gotten a portfolio with PDP IF Atiku won the same portfolio he got with Tinubu?

The likelihood of PDP winning is even low the moment Obi entered the game with or without G5.

Lets analyze it
Of the G5 Ortom supported Obi,
Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu are inconsequential cos their states was lost to Obi anyway
Wikes Rivers ended 230K APC, 88K PDP, 175K LP. So if Wike had handed over all the APC votes to PDP, It would be PDP320K APC 0. It will be 230K votes gained to cover a deficit of 1.8m. so it will still end with a almost 1.4m margin in favor of APC

What was the margin of Tinubus win over Atiku again? Almost 1.8M votes so how much did the G5 sway?

You said Wike should go and support Atiku, the same people who swindled him, And what was the guarantee that they will even give him a cabinet that Tinubu gave him. When till last minute the people who assured him of votes changed it for him

Wike weighed his options and saw the chances of Tinubu winning was higher than Atikus and decided to join forces with him than support a Betrayer who will still likely lose

The influence of the G5 goes way beyond the G5 states.

They had considerable influence in Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo, Kano, Cross Rivers, Plateau, e.t.c.

There's no way Atiku didn't lose at least 1m votes to that foolishness of ignoring 5 governors with influence in other states without PDP governors.

Which of the G5 governors has influence in Lagos? Makinde?

PDP moved Wike up the ranks from LGA chairman to minister and then governor, I don't think the party as an instrument had beeb unfair to him, and getting blindsided because of over-confidene wasn't the party happening to him.

Wike would most likely have gotten a portfolio in the Atiku government had he chosen to play ball and reel his g-5 crew in and in 8 or even 4 years down the road he'd be making claim for power rotation South with him looking a solid option.

I don't see how his becoming a somewhat unwanted lackey is anything better than what the PDP would have given him, and this is me speaking on Wike's self-interest alone and not some rubbish bobo or not wanting another Northern after Buhari

After that betrayal at the convention and refusal to force Ayu out, you expect him to trust them to give him any portfolio if PDP had won?

He didn't get where he is today by being stupid.

Bode Geroge controls the PDP structure in Lagos. He was a member of the "integrity group" which was an extension of the G5.

Ayu was already seeing his tenure out. If Wike wasn't crying about Ayu, he'd have found another thing to cry about. Wike was not betrayed at the convention, the Tambuwal angle was one he didn't consider or plan properly against.

There's no way you'd dice Wikes move without it looking like he played himself... Man went from being a major political force in the PDP, probably even potential VP or presidential nominee for the party in years down the road, to becoming one of Emi Lokan's boys with zero prospects of getting any federal acceptance.

Dey play.

He still is. You cannot mention 3-5 most influential politicians in Nigeria of today without Wike.

How did Atikus swindle Wike? Wike spending for the party doesn't automatically give him right of refusal to the party's presidential ticket...the convention was a game of numbers and the process was made clear and transparent (no BVAS wahala)... It wasn't Atikus fault that Wike couldn't make the alliances needed to take him over the finish line, and for a first time run, he did well.

Voting dynamics are not simply a +/- thing, I still think Peter Obi wouldn't have swept traditional PDP strongholds as well as he did if PDP didn't have to deal with all the infighting...And as for Atiku appreciating Wike post election, its one of those things we might never know, but judging by precedents, odds were he'd have been, and would just have been if not more relevant than the Emi lokan singer he's become.

Nothing gives anyone the right but Wike who waited with a party in the lean times has a bigger argument compared to Atiku who flees anytime he its convenient

Which of the states wont Obi win with or without G5?

So Atiku who doesnt care about anyone except himself will care about giving him a ministry?

Bode Geroge kor, Bode lawyer ni grin

What did PDP score in Lagos at the presidential election?

Maybe u don't know that as far as Lagos is concerned PDP is a dead party, they don't even have any structure whatsoever. All Bode George is anytime an election is coming he collects money from as many people that want to contest under the dead party, do one yeye primary, field the candidate and lose scandalously eventually. The next election cycle rinse and repeat.

I've always maintained here and outside this forum that if PDP wants to have any chance at unseating APC in Lagos, they need to put in work 2-3 years before the election; not the nonsense they do every election cycle in which they will just start pasting poster 9-12 months before an election without proper grassroots mobilization.

Every week APC hold ward meetings whether it is off election season or during election season. They don't just wake few months to election wasting money on posters and advert.

Bode George just dey run gullible people streets, PDP is dead in Lagos.

Lol, then you were not following. The betrayal was all about Ayu not even Tambuwal.

Ayu was brought to Wike by Ortom. The governors led by Wike ensured that there was little to no resistance to Ayus emergence. Wike was even the one who funded his campaign.

The plan was to make it easier for Wike to emerge as presidential candidate from the South considering that North had gotten the chairman.

Ayu not only betrayed him by supporting Atiku, he publicly hailed Tambuwal as the hero of the convention.

Infact, it was Ayu who prevailed on Atiku not to choose Wike as Vice. Atiku was going to go with the recommendation of the committee he set up.

That was why Wike demanded Ayus head. He wanted his pound of flesh.

And which tenure was Ayu seeing out? Ayu was elected in October 2021. He had a tenure of 4 years.

In Cross Rivers, their governorship candidate was a close ally of Wike. His structure worked against Atiku and supported Obi.

In Ondo, Mimiko is the leader of the party. His structure worked against Atiku and supported Tinubu

In Ekiti, you have Fayose and his men. Also a strong ally of Wike.

These are people that could easily have given Atiku some decent amount of votes in their respective states.

Infact, everything that happened at that convention including Tambuwal stepping down was masterminded by Ayu.

How was Wike meant to react? Smile, laugh and dance with Ayu and Atiku so they can give him a better portfolio than what APC has given him.
