dvkot: Some point in the war, Russia was running low on stockpiles, that's the reason they had to switch from peace time economy to war time economy and focus on production. The statement by the German have certain functions, one is to garner more support for UKraine and the other is to garner support from Germans to be able to allocate more funds to their defence industry. 1 Like |

Tiopii:And so what aspects is Nigeria better?? A Guy posted a video about North Korea somewhere, I'm sure most of you still arguing on this topic do not have simple data to go watch it. We'll be surprise those saying the truth here have benefited more on Nigeria's weakness more and are doing well than those defending it, if we check further we'll find out, most here are unemployed, they do not have good roof over their heads, access to clean water aside the boreholes/well in every compound, cannot afford two good square meal, they defecate in the open, no presentable clothing and above all not even up to N20,000 in their accounts. So why the noise about Nigeria that the leaders themselves are not proud of? A country that's on life support despite the huge natural and borrowed resources. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Balogunodua: According to your link Access to electricity (Nk) - 52.6 Access to electricity (NG) - 59.5 Access to electricity in rural areas - unavailable data. So I don't know where you saw your non-existent rural power. Other notable data to take note of. 55% of households in North Korea have access to cheap solar systems (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-solar-feature/cheap-solar-panels-power-consumer-appliance-boom-in-north-korea-idUSKCN1RT2P1/) Increased power generation by private companies has resulted to North Korea having 22 hours daily electricity (https://english.hani.co/arti/english_edition/e_northkorea/878329.html) Meanwhile in Nigeria, they will count me that has 2 hours electricity every 4 days as having access to electricity. Go to Ibedc Twitter page and see people complaining everyday of not having light for weeks. Those ones too will be classified as having access to electricity. As a student, I was posted to do my IT in Isaga-orile near Abeokuta, Ogun state. I spent one year in that place. I only saw light once in that town for just 10 minutes. 10 minutes in a year will also be classified as having access to electricity. Like the Yoruba adage says, Ti won ba n tan e, ma tan ra re. Make we no dey deceive ourselves. Btw, see attached image. An electricity distribution company had the audacity to release to the public that it supplies people with 0 and 1 hours electricity daily. I'm sure you'll classify those ones too as having access to electricity. 5 Likes

Tiopii: 1-5% of protesters chanting negative utterances doesn't make a protest violent unless you want to tell me that all protests are violent. And I've never heard of any school of thought on democracy stating that peaceful protests that go against national interest can be thwarted, given that national interest is a subjective concept. There's also no proof that anybody is sponsoring the protests. Protests also go beyond just sending a message. They can persist until action or compromise is taken by the government. And assuming you are right, what do you have to say about Western governments condemning crackdown on protesters in other countries? Do you agree that they are hypocrites? 3 Likes |

FoolishBoy419: 1-5% is it accurate or your personal opinion?. Negative utterances from this same minority has lead to violent protests or reactions. You shouldn't be supporting this esp if they are calling to arm. National interests are determined by the Govt in power, that's the power you give up when you elect or recognize them as your representatives. On the idea of sponsor, we usually don't have he level of information as the Govt does. certain protest started peaceful but turned violent. For any protest to be successful, it needs the support of the majority. All govts including Western are hypocrites. What protest are you talking bout? 2 Likes |

Tiopii: It's my estimate based on all of the videos I have seen, and based on the fact that many Jewish pro-Palestinian protesters have denied allegations of antisemitism. The feminist movement, the anti Ghaddafi movement, the anti-Assad movement, The Civil Rights movement, the Endsars protest, the anti-military rule student protests in Nigeria, the anti-Apartheid movements, the anti-Netanyahu protests, and a gazillion others all had some bad eggs. Essentially, you are saying that protests are wrong in general. If you say national interests are determined by the government in power then I agree with you, but I need to know what makes it right for them to use force against peaceful protesters to defend the said interest under a democratic setting. Any dictator can use this logic you are using. People are protesting against their taxes being used fund an ongoing genocide thousands of miles away from their home while homeless people are dying of starvation and college debts are enslaving them. They are protesting against illegal settlements in Palestinian lands and the mass starvation and dehumanization strategy against Palestinians. Even if the protests are being sponsored, the government shout find a way to cut the head of the snake rather than doing what they have been condemning every other country for doing. Like I have said before, this is what I have been hoping for. I know that no amount of protests would make USA change its relations with Israel so it's best that the World's biggest vendor of democracy is seen beating and harassing protesters. Interesting days are coming 1 Like |

FoolishBoy419: You shouldn't be making any estimate based on videos you've seen. I don't like discussing the Israel/Palestine matter cos of it's complicated nature. Would you expect Palestine to accept being anti semic or the Israel to accept the genocide claim? There's no place I said Protest is wrong and I feel like if I continue to express my opinion you'd intensionally misquote me. Govt determines the extremes of protests, once it gets to a certain threshold as determined by the Govt they would use force. People can protest and they can also change the govt, atleast democracy allows for that. what other system of govt allows for dissenting views? There's no perfect democracy in the World. I think the US condemns when the protests leads to deaths as a result of govt high-handedness. Parents beat their children, but sometimes when they witness how other parents beat their own children they condemn them. If you protest you're still alot safer compared to other non democratic countries. Share a link, so I can read what exactly happened in the protest you're taking about. There's no perfect system of govt, but so far democracy is the most inclusive govt 1 Like |
