socialmediaman:
It's grammatically correct but doesn't give full context. "She" could be referring to the mother or the daughter.

The correct way to express it is something like:

"A mother beats up her daughter because she (the mother) was drunk".

"A mother beats up her daughter because she (the daughter) was drunk".

"A mother beats up her daughter because she, the daughter, was drunk".

"A mother beats up her daughter because she, the mother, was drunk".

Update:

Even better ways to provide clarity:

“A mother beats up her daughter, who was drunk”.

“A mother, who was drunk, beats up her daughter”.

The mother beats up her daughter because the daughter was drunk.
The mother beats up her daughter because the mother was drunk.
Without additional context or clarification, it's impossible to determine which interpretation is correct.

The action drunk could be drawn to either of the two - the subject or object.

The subject ( mother) could also out of drunkenness beat the subject ( daughter) up

True, if the mother was the one that was drunk, the word used will not be because, it will be after or when she was drunk.

This is one of the incorrect use of pronouns. A sentence must be clear and free from ambiguity. Pls, find attached the screenshot from the book "English Grammar for the Utterly Confused".
You can download the book free online.

You must rewrite the sentence: ... because she (the daughter) was drunk.

You can rewrite it in other ways to avoid ambiguity.

It could go either way because the pronoun "she" could refer to anyone of them since they are both she's.

The reason for the action

The correct way to express it is something like:

"A mother beats up her daughter because she (the mother) was drunk".

"A mother beats up her daughter because she (the daughter) was drunk".

"A mother beats up her daughter because she, the daughter, was drunk".

"A mother beats up her daughter because she, the mother, was drunk".

The statement doesn't break with a comma sign, so the drunk person is actually the daughter.

No straight answer to this

The mother MAY be drunk and beat the daughter cos she's intoxicated, or due to anger, alcohol bring out the worst in humans

The daughter MAY be underage so can't drink alcohol

The daughter MAY be drunk which made the mother beat her.
they can as well both be drunk

You can also rewrite it as this:

A drunken mother beat her daughter.

OR

A mother beat her drunken daughter.

A good writer must avoid ambiguity while writing.
Re: English Gurus Pls What Is The Answer To This ?? by Ojoabidemi9(m): 3:53pm On May 02
Context will help you to know which one of them is drunk.

A mother is the subject, her daughter is the object, because = is the emphasis, she was drunk was the reason for the action.

Her daughter was drunk.

He threw the fruit away because it was bad.
it is actually an ambiguous expression which could be interpreted either way. It is not the same as your example which has a pronoun 'it' representing the object (fruit)

In the case of the OP's sentence, we have a 'she' that could be referring to either the subject (mother) or the object (daughter).
