Cybercrime act of 2015, the darling of both the government and the people. It has now literally replaced suing for libel and defamation because Nigerians love instant gratification. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Ofunaofu: In what way are journalists being harassed? Any journalist that creates and spreads fake stories will be arrested and that is the law all over the world |

journalist being detained isn't good for democracy and if a crime is alleged to have been committed then there is a due process. 1 Like |

Where was the coalition and other civil society organizations when the bill was being considered before it becomes law?? Were they on the table eating with politicians then or would they deny they were not aware of the bill becoming law to be used against anyone wanting to widely expose corruption?? They better approach their friend's-enemy again to amend the law and allow a just reportage of corruption with persecution. |

stuffs2002: The law says the Police cannot hold you for more than 24 hours without charging you to Court. It is harassment and illegality when the Police holds a journalist based on purported crime and refuse to charge him to court after 24 hours. You cannot claim to be law abiding when you choose to obey only the laws that suit your purpose. |
