Even though it would benefit my state(Port Harcourt) if it was possible. People shouting coastal highway have never been to the water front areas,

If you have ever been to Lagos and you know third mainland bridge. That's the kind of bridge you would need that will cut across the stretch of Delta State, Bayelsa and Port Harcourt talkless of Akwa Ibom.

These areas are creeks and mangroves sea.

For me what I understand it's going on here is that Chagoury man wants to use coastal highway tactics to claim Lagos water front. That's why his company started sand filling wether anyone like it or not.

The first picture below is Delta State area alone. To fund the high bridge that will cross these areas America, Chinese and Europeans will have to come together to fund it for us.

Third mainland bridge is like a dot compared to the bridge that you would need to cut across these areas. And I can assure you that federal government know it's impossible.

Chagoury is the one funding this whole madness. And we have Nigerian politicians that would destroy their citizens homes and livelihoods for a foreigner to benefit

They know it's highly impossible..

Tinubu will build only Lagos side, then promise SS that he will complete it if they vote him in 2027, since his Northern Masters have started forsaken him..

The unrealistic project is all about siphoning of public fund and 2027 election plans ...

Smart people know what Tinubu is up to..
Very mischievous clown!.

If Tinubu is been truthful to himself and cares about the interest of Niger Delta like he claims, he should restructure Nigeria now he's in charge, so that Niger Delta can take in charge of their destiny, because restructuring has been Tinubu's anthem since time immemorial just to capture power which he was using to deceive the gullible ones...

Fraudulent man !!

The said they will build tunnels instead of bridges at those areas grin

If the president of Nigeria isn't a Yoruba man, I pity what the likes of Tinubu, FFK and the rest could have done to his image.

Before Peter Obi ever criticised that road, I did first. My argument was that those trillions of naira (they said the FG will pay 50% of 15 trillion which is about 7.5 trillion) should be invested in agriculture and power. Prices of foodstuff are becoming alarming and a country of 200 million people doesn't distribute up to 5000 megawatts of power; almost the whole economy runs on generators.

However, APC members and their foot soldiers are now deploying tribal politics to the whole argument that this road isn't a priority. So, I want to appeal to my Igbo brothers to halt all arguments concerning this road because they are now inciting the South South people against us.

This is the only thing APC knows how to do best - divide and rule. It has worked so well in Lagos guber elections and they have brought it to national politics. Unfortunately, they keep taking Nigeria backwards because facts and figures don't lie.

A lot of people don't know the terrain. Even in Delta state, some communities don't have bridges due to the large presence of creeks

The whole of VI was once a swamp

Where the Dangote Refinery is located was once a swampy area

Construction work for the Lagos calabar road is ongoing at Eleko, where the road will pass through at Eleko is a swampy area, go there and check how it's been built up

Swampy area is not a big deal

Go and makw research about the bonny bodo road

Op you are not being truthful, you haven't been to the creeks they only need bridges when crossing a river, the swampy areas are usually sand filled.

Check on the road being constructed by the bayelsa State govt that is heading to the Atlantic ocean

Igbos have been always denied their identity whenever they want to make a bad remark they usually hide under the south south people to carryout their evil habits. Like this op claiming port Harcourt. He forgot that average Niger delta will rather channel their energy on something that will more productive.

The useless being forget that the whole of lagos island even part of surulere and some part of ikoyi even the whole of Eko Atlantic and part of oworo were ocean and they sand filling it to be habitable for people.

The project that have been in place for over 30 years no administration's ever talk about it and each administration stolen trillion of naira even if not dollars self? If those money stolen by this individual can be channel to this project would the project will still be there?
Some of you are just criticizing without constructive even including your boss peter obi but you guys from that region really get empty brain spits on your head bro.

Naysayers who are quick to tell us how Dubai or Singapore built wonderful and near impossible infrastructure, yet cannot even believe their own country could build a coastal road because of swamps?

What you guys are doing is wicked to the bone

Niger Delta is the goose that Lays Nigeria's Golden eggs and after 40years FG wants to do something Substantial for them by building them a Coastal Highway and you are now fighting against it

You no Shame?

Yet You saw Buhari building Railway for his People even to Niger using the Niger Delta's resources

Don't you know that at least Half of what was used to build Abuja was supposed to have gone to the Niger Delta as infrastructure for the sake of Fairness and non exploitation?

FG has Cheated Niger Delta so badly for decades to the extent that they don't even argue about it again they only give them fake promises to improve their behavior towards the Niger Delta and because of a Single Road you are here fighting

Lagos from Lagos Island all the Way to Abule Egba was full of Creeks, and Swamps
Crocodiles used to live in those Swamps
Ilaje and Awori Fishermen used to kill them and sell them as meat

Despite the years, and roll over of adminstrations it took to complete the second niger bridge- a bridge of less than 2km, and not to forget the overly- bloated and inefficiency with which government runs project; you still think those critizing the reality of running a 700kms of road project within 8 years don't have solid reasons for doing so.

Only fools believe that road will be a reality. That road will end in Ibeju and that's it.

They think they are dealing with illiterates when it's not financially possible to build long bridges far bigger than 3rd mainland bridge to connect those south south states whose sea fronts are facing those mangrove swamps in Niger Delta populated with elephants , chimpanzees and gorillas. Tinubu is a shameless thief, he doesn't even steal with sense
