What about Anambra and Abia towers? The home of developers. How come the so called brown roof region has most towers in Nigeria? These towers must have been built and owned by the developers from SE. |

uuzba: To a great extent, you are right. Needed structural infrastructure is required to enable the effectiveness of skyscrapers. Nigeria's poor economic growth has resulted in fewer firms, anaemic wealth creation and growth of poor people. The country needs a GDP growth rate of at least 10% for ten consecutive years to ensure wealth is generated. Through that, businesses and individuals can afford skyscrapers. But for a country to maintain GDP growth rate of 10%, constant electricity supply is mandatory. As it is, logically based on land mass and economics, Lagos is the only place where a super-tall building makes sense. Anywhere else is a misnomer. 3 Likes |

uuzba: Tall buildings are more efficent than an equivalent sqm space of buildings spread out over an area. Saves fuel, saves utility expenses, helps thousands of businesses stay together in a general area. If you did economics in school you will understand how important agglomeration is in a large scale economy. There's a reason major towns and cities naturally develop an overcrowded business area. |
