Good afternoon everyone, Does anyone know the month available now for the US visa appointment? Thanks! |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by JohnZak: 4:03pm On May 18, 2024 |
I scheduled my mum's IW appointment this week. I submitted the appointment request on Tuesday and was approved to schedule the next day. The earliest available IW date in Lagos as at Wednesday of this week was October 31, 2024. Again, this is for IW appointments and not visa appointments that require a physical interview. adenikeO: 1 Like |

Thank you so much. This worked. Unfortunately, I've encountered another problem with scheduling an appointment. After creating a new profile on traveldocs and filling out the necessary information, I can't get past the “verify that you are human”. It just keeps re-loading even when it gives a prompt “verification successful”. I've used different network connections but still have the same issue. Please assist. I've paid my visa application fees for some days now. Thanks you so much.

flourishing247: What about Abuja? Is there any available date? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 11:50am On May 19, 2024 |
Tamison: Hey 🤠 * USA embassy does not joke with timeline because they have lot and lot of applicants to attend to. * Your mom's visa has not expired, hence she is not qualify for the 48 months and she should have waited till 31st of May before she attempted to renew, hence she is not yet qualify to renew b4 3-months of visa expiration as well. * With your drop-off date of July 1st in Abuja, Mama has shortchanged the USA embassy 2 weeks and few days of their work- time. * There wont be much issue because the USA embassy understands that most applicants does not really know how to calculate those timeline. * No one can determine the timeframe for the re-issue but i have the 75% inclination that Mama might receive 221g. This should be your worry. 1. Most important is Mama's travel history to the USA. When did she last travel to America ? Is it within the last 3- months of her VISA expiration? If the answer is yes then she has good chances of straight renewal. 2. If Mama's travel history is not consistent to the USA ie, Mama got 5 yrs B1/B2 multiple entry and the last time she travelled to the USA is 3 years ago, then her VISA renewal might call for 221g slip. Some people might dispute this. 3. In the above scenario, the embassy may want to recapture Mama's biometric once again, then in the form (221g) it will be tick marked and she can reappear at the embassy according to instructions. 4. But If they want a fresh interview for Mama, then also the 221g form will be issued with a tick mark in the interview option. However, this is a tricky and red zone situation. Best Wishes🙏 |

Good afternoon everyone. I am trying to get an IW appointment. I chose Lagos when I filled my DS160, I got the email to schedule an appointment, but I don't want to wait till October. I have not picked a date yet. How do I change location to Abuja? Thank you. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by 76ta: 4:00pm On May 19, 2024 |
Hello everyone, please what does this mean ?? ...... "are any dependents associated with your profile? please note that having dependents associated to your profile may lead to either delay or denial of your appointment request?" DOES THAT MEAN I CAN'T ADD MY SPOUSE? WE HAVE TO SUBMIT DIFFERENTLY? |

Good evening all, Please I want to ask some questions with respect to US Visa application for B1/B2 type. 1. If I apply for visa application next week, is it possible to get closer date like December 2024? 2. Also, as a fresh applicant, can I apply now and wait for closest interview appointment date? 3. Is it compulsory to book for flight before Visa interview date or leave it blank on their site. Thank you for your help in anticipation. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 10:54pm On May 19, 2024 |
Shofat4real: Hey 🤠 1. Yes it is possible to get closer date like December 2024 but you must request for that appointment under Business or Medical Emergency. 2. Yes you can apply now and keep waiting for closest interview appointment date (as a 1st timer ) via reschedule option but you may wait till next year. Your last resort is very likely to be the emergency application. 3. It is not compulsory to book for flight before your interview. You may however input your travel itinerary as well as airline name (still optional). Best Wishes🙏 |

thediva: Start the process from beginning. Fill a new ds160. Change the code on your profile. Then go ahead and book. I think Abuja is in August or so. Lagos is currently November. 1 Like |

Hello, please I need help with practice mock interview questions for B1/B2. My aged parents going for vacation. Dad is a senior lawyer and mom has businesses with over 30 employees. They frequently visit the UK and Australia. Please what questions should they expect for their interview? This is their first time. Thank you |

For those who recently did dropbox and have gotten their passports back, how long was the process from submission to pick up. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by puffmama: 2:16pm On May 21, 2024 |
It doesn't take 2 months . It's usually between 3 days - 2 months . Majority are out between 3-4 weeks . On the issue of 3 months before expiry date . I personally know 2 people that submitted before the 3 months expiration and their passports were returned and they were asked to book a fresh interview . I would advise you use send a message through the feedback link and ask for the implication of cancelling your appointment and then making a fresh request when it's less than 3 months or exactly 3 months . quote author=Tamison post=129951247]Good evening everyone. Please I need clarification on US Visa interview waiver. The website says one is eligible if a visa expired 48 months ago or in the next 3 months. Now, my mom's visa expires on the 31st of July, I just got a drop-off date of July 1 in Abuja. On the confirmation print out, it only says visas expired not more than 48 months ago and not the 3 months. Do you think there will be an issue with the renewal because of this? We usually use Lagos but I went with Abuja this time because of availability of dates. Has anyone successfully renewed in Abuja using the interview waiver? Does it really take 2 months? I hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you. [/quote] |

Soludonido: Hey 🤠 1. Your dad is a senior lawyer and mom has business with over 30 employees while they have been to the UK and Australia is a personal story that doesn't shake the USA embassy. 2. When you are ready to tell Nairalanders their missions in the USA or who is inviting them as well as their age ranges then a genuine responder can guide you. 3. If anyone answer you based on your unclear question then that individual is just generalising. 4. @Soludonido. I ate 3 types of foods at 8.am today and by 1.pm noon I had slight stomach upset. Can you tell me the food that caused the slight stomach upset ? Best Wishes 🙏 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Soludonido: 3:20pm On May 21, 2024 |
OyoTunjiUSA: Hmmm all I did was provide their travel history and occupation because I felt the responders might ask about it. They are coming for summer vacation and certainly visit their children. 2 of the children with families in USA. Dad is 64 years old and mom is 55 years old. For accommodation, we provided the details of their hotel in the DS160 application. Thanks you |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by fkj950ax(m): 4:09pm On May 21, 2024 |
Soludonido:That is all they need to know and prepare for. A. The decision is based on what you fill in your DS160. B. The DS160 is based on their profile over the years and intended trip details. Funding (senior lawyer, business owner with 30+ employees). Home Ties (got a lot going in NG - insert funding points - and have always come back home on the other trips). Purpose of visit (vacation and sightseeing or buckelist). Children drawn up an itinerary for them. Majorly bonding with children and grand children Profile (children - those in the US legal status etc). Accommodation (Both at their children's homes and also Hotel in order to have their own time alone on the trip). Rule out any health issues so there is no intention to seek healthcare while in the US... Seniors with children in the US easily get healthcare runs done while visiting, so they should not create or dispel that inference. And as usual, avoid long explanations that lead to other questions. But detailed and concise answers important. 3 Likes |
