Ofodirinwa:Nobody believes this data wholly except you easterners. Just look at Niger state too. For your information.the subsisting firms in Ogun state are more than all the firms in the SE. One will really like to see the breakdown of the data because one of your people was saying that Anambra and Imo came up because of the service sector. I just hope it is not fake like the WAEC fake data that SE has been spreading all over the place for more than 11 years now until WAEC said it is fake. Probably from Ipob bureau of fake statistics. SE can be very deceitful. 1 Like |

ANSMEDIA: Before throwing up this stupid list, did you even check it to see that Edo is almost double that of Anambra? You have no problem showing how Edo is far ahead of Anambra in money deposit as long as it gives you something to latch on against Imo state? When will you guys grow up and stop being so petty and childish? What a shame. |

proeast:You should know better nothing like being childish base on non oil economy Akwa-Ibom and Imo doesn't come close to Anambra there are more business activities and opportunities in Anambra when you join both states together, Akwa-Ibom and Imo are formal economy, fact that FG and state government benefiting from the oil and gas proceed, than the citizens unlike informal economy in Anambra state which benefits the citizens more than the government. Anambra is oil producing state but still ranked very low when compare with Imo and Akwa-Ibom. |

ANSMEDIA: Nah I don't think so, this stat was indicated around 2022 Q4 before gas exploration coys rolled out their products, exception of the modular refinery, so in essence, oil and gas as at when the figures came about has little to do with the performance of Imo state. The service sectors via hospitality I believe had more quota as we speak more than 100 hotels are nearing completion within owerri axis alone, talk more of the entire state, however agriculture is equally doing fine in the state, especially in the likes of cassava, cashew, oil palm, rubber, plantain, rice, yam, fishery, livestock (chicken, goat,) Then factor in the robust growth of pharmaceutical industry, today she has about 12 of them. Trade and commerce in the last decade is equally on a steady expansion in the last decade with high end malls, plazas and open markets springing up state-wide. Not to mention Aviation and other sectors. I want to appeal to the site management to kindly desist from mining the data of forumites when they try to post. 1 Like |

You are the one that’s pathetic. Anambra is by far richer than imo state. Just Nnewi alone has bigger economy than imo state, not to talk of Onitsha. I don’t care what others think but the fact must be stated winterfell007: |
Re: Nigeria's Richest States ranked By GDP (See List) by NwekereNdokl: 11:27am On May 24, 2024 |
You are an ediot . How can you confuse ashawo business in Owerri with hospitality? There’s nothing like hospitality in imo state but gang of commercial sex hawkers and brotheks. How can you explain that most imo indigenes that are in SW either live in Anambra or Enugu states? How come most Igbos from other state want to live in imo state, but you claimed the state is rich? Wealthy states attract people, imo state doesn’t attract anyone. Putting imo before Delta and Anambra has discredited the list , so shut up if you have no defence winterfell007: |

Mensamusa:You are being economical with truth, do you know the business activities in Onitsha metropolis alone which is the largest city in Southeast, majority of business men in Imo buy their goods from Onitsha and Nnewi, Onitsha and Nnewi markets feed many markets across Nigeria, there are more business opportunities in Anambra state when compare to any state in Southeast, Anambra have three vibrant cities, two cities Onitsha metro and Nnewi for industries and commerce, hotels Awka is second to Owerri in Southeast, almost all the towns in Anambra have hotel, oil production Imo is by far when compare to Anambra. It's only oil economy that gave Akwa-Ibom and Imo edge over Anambra state you should know better |
Re: Nigeria's Richest States ranked By GDP (See List) by ANSMEDIA: 11:48am On May 24, 2024 |
Mensamusa:Agriculture Anambra is doing credible well, Anambra is major rice producing states with four standard rice mills plants, Anambra host the biggest industrial layouts in Southeast go to Ogbaru, Nnewi, Ozubulu and feed your eyes, industries are dotted in many towns in Anambra state Just one of the industrial layouts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDcs2mFyo1I?si=sp2E-WQmw1yEKqyP |

ANSMEDIA: Nigeria has 36 states, but you guys always limit yourselves to unnecessary dik measuring with SE. What sort of local champion mentality is that? You brought a list that showed Edo having almost double of Anambra figures yet you brought it as exhibit. Does it then mean that Edo economy is twice that of Anambra since they have almost double the deposits? Isn’t that what your logic is about? 1 Like |

ANSMEDIA: Diokpa, kedu ife ilo,Abukwam onye ogbe, awka beanyi adibago OK nezia. IMO business men spread tentacles not just in OSHA n Nnewi, but also Aba,Portharcout etc benefitting from those other markets lends credence to the growth of her commercial sector owing to the central positioning of the state in the geopolitical zone. Orlu metro is equally expanding exponentially and blending with onitsha and nnewi, axis coming to that of Owerri,do not let google old measurement become your yardstick, Owerri is expanding astronomically into other LGAs into ngorokpala, mbaitolu, aboh mbaise,ohaji-egbema,ikeduru apart from Owerri north, Owerri west,Owerri municipal. There is no gain saying that IMO is equally doing good with diaspora remittance and burgeoning real estate sector since the dualization of the airport road about 5 real estate coys kick started within that corridor. We must broaden our horizon of understanding that imo is well positioned to have one of the most diversified economy in the country. Remember stat was taken by Q4 2022. |

ANSMEDIA: The mistake you people are making is thinking that economy starts and ends with buying and selling. Owerri/Imo has something that Anambra does not have, and that’s packaging and creating an economy that attracts elites. 9 out of 10 educated Anambra people won’t like to stay in the state if they can help it. Aside Abuja, Lagos and to an extent P.H, no city in Nigeria attracts elites than Owerri and that’s a fact. Do you know how much those elites that are always in Owerri spend in those hotels, clubs, bars etc? Can you build luxury businesses in Anambra? No! But you can build luxury businesses in Owerri and it will thrive. For a city to have so many big hotels, bars, restaurants and malls yet they are all thriving at the same time, what do you think it’s the reason? Imo state has always been the largest economy in the SE even before the onset of massive gas exploitation. You’re the one deceiving yourself. 2 Likes |

ANSMEDIA: IMO is equally doing quintessentially in industrialization, it might interest you to know that there are so many industries scattered all over and crisscrossing the length and breadth of the state. That you don't know about them doesn't mean ,they are nonexistent, in addition ngorkpala ,ohaji egbema Oguta have been designated as industrial zones and orashi FTZ, apart from Owerri-naze,owerri-onitsha industrial zone ANOH Alone covers about 84hecters,Victoria integrated farms covers about 3o hecters, waltersmith petroman is currently floating an industrial zone with first phase of 85 hecters getting set, they have fenced up to 40% of the land preparatory to erection of petrochemical/ancillary industries with dedicated IPP and access roads, and feedstock for gas off takers in the future with expansion in view, about 64 coys on stand by. I want to take this timeout to implore every intending investor prospecting guaranteed ROI to head towards that axis. Invest in IMO. 1 Like |
