Where are the stupids Nafdac.
Someone complain about a product and instead of the complaint to be investigated, the person was arrested.

Nigeria judiciary system is a failure.
Police no get sense all they know is bribe.
Everything just wrong in Nigeria.

Senseless country.

You lie! What is a fake review? If I buy a samasung phone and write a review saying this phone is of low quality, I don't recommend it, is it fake?

The story about a man going to jail for fake reviews is not as you paint it. The man sold his service to businesses to help them post reviews as though it was by a real person that visited the business. That is a crime to mislead the public.

Most of the foods you consume in Nigeria are not actually fit for consumption. I also don't trust NAFDAC anymore. I would appreciate if you could share the link to the nafdac review. Most of the tomato paste sold in Nigeria has been stripped of its nutrient and what you have is coloring and lots of sugar. I would rely on an independent organization evaluating this tomato company's product than nafdac
Goodvibes007:

After all these while, it's yet to hunt him. The man does not send.

Those were are biggest problem. The woke generation kept telling her to fight on.

Nafdac actually verified and said there was nothing wrong with the product.

She gave a fake review which is different from good or bad reviews. Even Amazon and many other businesses warn customers against giving fake reviews as there could be legal consequences. People have gone to jail in Italy, UK and many places for false/fake reviews.

I feel at this point, the girl's family better go the Nigerian way to beg the company to drop it's law suit.

What most people are implying here is, when a product is bad, don't say anything.....
Erisco food should have warned her and if she still went on to defame without evidence then should be arrested
That's what is happening. What she bought is different from what she's criticizing. The man demanded for an apology which she did and was released. The Lawyer wanted them to make money off the man and asked her to go and withdraw the apology publicly which she did then boasted online that she has succeeded in destroying the man's business.
She wants to fight, so let's see her strength.

She looks like the type that won't listen to her husband lol --- just joking o ...some women can be stubborn --- true statement...some not all. I think the husband signed an apology letter, but she refused to sign it or was advised not to. Why can't she just come out and apologize? See the Kano Deputy Gov...he accused Ribadu wrongly, and when he was warned a lawsuit was coming, he came out and apologized.... case closed. This lady followed AriseNews...hope they will send her money for legal representation now

Recall that the CEO of Erisco Foods, Eric Omeofia, had alleged in 2023 that a negative product review by a customer, Chioma Egodi, negatively impacted his business when she claimed that the Nagiko Tomato Mix she bought had too much sugar.

Okoli’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, told the court that his client suffered miscarriage in the course of the case and eventually lost her baby.

Okoli is standing bordering on conspiracy and cyberstalking leveled against her.

O pari.

This erisco tomato paste matter should not have escalated to this extent in my opinion. The extent it has gone now is not helpful for an amicable resolution at all.

This is a lesson to everyone to be careful about the advice people give to you, especially if it's a legal opinion.

If you post a comment or say something the other party consider as offensive to his or her brand ,if your comment is a well-intentioned advice but ,unfortunately, taken wrongly, please just delete the comment(s), apologize to the one who took your feedback in a wrong way and move on with your life. If you're right, you will eventually be justified by posterity and one day the person who feels wronged today will credit you as the one who gave a truly sincere feedback yet you apologized for peace to reign. You become the bigger and more matured party eventually.

I will encourage her husband, family and lawyer to help her out of the current predicament. Let all the parties please explore amicable resolution options if it's not too late yet. It's good that she's being given the opportunity to defend herself so that justice can prevail.

Very wise saying. But it goes both ways. Erisco should have allowed this matter to die a natural death. Nigerians with very short memory wouldn't have remembered her review the next hour or day after her review. But Erisco brought up, made it alive and kept it at the frontburner.

Awesome comments.

Sadly, the foolish girl thought she had become Voltron, because she was repeatedly spurred on by the CHILDREN OF HATE on social media.

Shockingly, she didn’t realise that all those that the CHILDREN OF HATE back usually end up in trouble and then, when they look back, they see that those who led them by the nose have abandoned them.

Bad reviews are a norm in any market.

Go the website of any brand you know and go check least rating reviews. They get lambasted often and don’t get people arrested.

Even if she lied with malice I don't see how this is a criminal case.

Nigeria Judiciary keeps sinking by the hour. If it was a magistrate court I won't talk much, but how a full federal court takes up this non case and won't dismiss it instantly surprises me.

The way I see this issue,it won't end well for the Erisco brand!

At the initial stage, there were reasonable and profitable suggestions made to the CEO of erisco!
This matter at it's early stage could have been an opportunity to use Chioma as a means to differentiate products of Erisco food and possibly market his products by making her a brand ambassador!
Erisco could have been a popular brand by now!

Unfortunately,as it's always the case with accidental millionaires with zero logic and doing everything for themselves,he reacted wrongly and illogically to a simple review on his product which he could have ignored since there was little or no engagement on the review but instead decided to use the security as it's always customary with people who cannot handle negative comments!

At the end whether,Okoli finally goes to jail or not,Erisco business will not only suffer but go into oblivion!

Nigerians love an underdog story and will do everything within their power to knock down every oppressor!

The best erisco can do for now to salvage the little left of his drowning company reputation is to outrightly withdraw the case and walk away.....it's still not late to do this!
I hope he listens!

I wonder what he will gain if he jails this woman. People will focus on the sentiment of the matter and see the man as mean than on any crime, if so committed by the lady.

Proving himself right and publishing the result without all these would have been a more credible option.
