Any proof?
She made comments based on her taste and what she noticed after cooking.

You people are just in love with your oppressors, period.
You need to shut dafuq up and check out what she said.

She said 'they are killing people'. That's different from it's too sugary or whatever. What proof did she have of people being dead from eating that tomato paste? None!!

Your emotions are clouding your logic and if you can be as sentimental like this as a man, you are already fûcked!!!

Where should she be? Has she proven that the tomatoe paste killed people? You don’t know you can go to jail over a fake review?
She should be home while the case is still in court.

She does not need to prove the tomato killed people, she only need to genuinely believe that sugar in the tomato kills people.

Show me examples of where people are jailed for fake reviews in Nigetia or any other country in the world.

Even if its a false review, does that elevate the issue to a criminal offence, whereby someone is locked up for more than 6 months without trial?

How many reviews from people that claimed cause cancer or explode and kills people? Just Google the term "Samsung factory cause cancer", you will see tones of claimed just because one factory worker died of cancer. It hebooves on the responsible inspection agency to investigate the claims. No one went to Jail for these claims.

Then you have no business getting hear public office. Jonathan, Buhari and even Tinubu is being insulted daily on social media and they go on with their lives. You and Erisco are lilly livered and have very thin skin.
Blame her time in custody on the court, and if Samsung decide to take legal actions against these "false claims", it's within their right to do so.
True, I have no desire for public office, but I will not tolerate false claims against me or my business.
funny, then Ribadu, Ay, Emoney, Gbajabiamila and that actress must be lilly livered as well.
Dey play.

I tried reading Chioma comments, it wasn't a crime, she used and the product and gave her opinion, it's basic reaction! I don't know how going after her correct anything cos presently I can't even bring myself to buy that product after reading she lost her baby cos my wife had passed through such.

As for me, I don't think this is right in any way
You are another sentimental nigga who should know better.

There is bad reviews and defamatory review. There is a difference between 'this paste has too much sugar' and 'this tomato paste is killing people' and insisting that it is true...where is the evidence that people died from using the paste?

You aren't being logical bro...Haba!!

No one says its pleasant. But should the reaction be jail for that person in a society where there is supposed to be freedom of speech, thought and conscience?

Mind you, there is the option of suing that person for damages.

Making a false claim that someone's product is killing people is not freedom of speech. It is a crime!

Nigeria deserve her leaders, there's oppressive spirit in all Nigerians, some even promise to kill the lady, " she should die in jail", bla bla bla.

In this kind of mess, there is always no Victor or Vanquished, Erisco has changed name, trying to rebrand and he's most likely not going to be flying g to most countries ever, Chioma has lost her pregnancy, she's in a difficult place right name, the police have tainted her already down trodden reputation even in global space. Global watchers of justice will downgrade the Nigerian Judicial system more. Nobody wins here! But Erisco and Chioma looses and then we as a people loose too, our reputation is smeared globally.

N.B:- if a product is injurious to Nigerian health, shouldn't govt. even through NAFDAC check out the claims. Must she be put in prison; if as they claim we are not under tyranny ( I know you don't understand the full implications of this word; Indomie generation who never witnessed Abacha and Babangida)?

Can't she be sued, and the case fought in court till logical conclusion? Must she be thrown into prison since last year, if this is not a slave country?

Uhuhn. Good attempt. I understand what you're trying to say, however:

Saying vipers and demons is a figure of speech meant to convey a different meaning within a certain context. You didn't actually start looking for vipers or demons.
It's killing people obviously has to be interpreted within proper context. Was she talking about people dying or was it a figure of speech meant to convey a different meaning.

Who was she talking to, and what led to what? Proving defamation is so incredibly difficult even when the intent is clear, much less here when you have to dig into the comment section to find one line that's paraded without proper context.

Again, who here doesn't do hyperbole when the conversation gets heated. Should you go to jail everytime that happens.

If you're an incredible jerk who thinks this is worth ruining someone's life over, it's very well within your right to try, but you'll be pushing that boulder up a very steep hill. In s normal trial, the lady will win and even have him pay for harassing her. How do you arrest someone on a civil accusation? No conviction and you have the civil liberty violated.

Summary: any which way you twist this, the man is a toxic stew of hatred and abuse. The lady should maybe be a bit mindful of comments but no more than the rest of us.
This is rubbish!!!

Recall that the CEO of Erisco Foods, Eric Omeofia, had alleged in 2023 that a negative product review by a customer, Chioma Egodi, negatively impacted his business when she claimed that the Nagiko Tomato Mix she bought had too much sugar.

Okoli’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, told the court that his client suffered miscarriage in the course of the case and eventually lost her baby.

Okoli is standing bordering on conspiracy and cyberstalking leveled against her.

O pari.

This erisco tomato paste matter should not have escalated to this extent in my opinion. The extent it has gone now is not helpful for an amicable resolution at all.

This is a lesson to everyone to be careful about the advice people give to you, especially if it's a legal opinion.

If you post a comment or say something the other party consider as offensive to his or her brand ,if your comment is a well-intentioned advice but ,unfortunately, taken wrongly, please just delete the comment(s), apologize to the one who took your feedback in a wrong way and move on with your life. If you're right, you will eventually be justified by posterity and one day the person who feels wronged today will credit you as the one who gave a truly sincere feedback yet you apologized for peace to reign. You become the bigger and more matured party eventually.

I will encourage her husband, family and lawyer to help her out of the current predicament. Let all the parties please explore amicable resolution options if it's not too late yet. It's good that she's being given the opportunity to defend herself so that justice can prevail.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
silly and cowardly advice.

The business man is throwing his money around. How does a cyber stalking case not get bail immediately?

And how has her comment made criminal over her opinion ? How dif the police determine if what she said was false?

The very worse the man could have done was instigate a civil suit. There's a thin line between between false information and citizen's right to air their opinion and this matter is proving to be just that and Nigeria police should be ashamed of themselves.

Why should she apologise when if that is her honest opinion? According to the constitution there is freedom of belief and opinion. People insult governors and even the president all the time, does that warrant arrest and being locked up for months? Unless Erisco can prove that she had malicious intent , it would be impossible to prove a crime. Remember the threshold for a crime is extremely high, you have to prove premeditation and intent beyond all reasonable doubt.

Why would the other 2 not run? Remember this is Nigeria where the rich and powerful control the justice system. They know they would be locked up indefinitely without trial.

Both NAFDAC and SON confirmed that Erisco tomatoes is good and edible; who then will defend her?

Freedom of speech is entirely different from what she did, there are records ok. She agreed to apologize but later decline and dare Erisco to go to Court.

Court will not pass judgement base on sentiment and emotion; she had the opportunity to free herself but she was headstrong and this is the reason why we all are still here, thank you.

Not relevant. You can’t talk about how she was accused of breaking the law and not talk about her accuser who actually broke the law.

It’s okay to file a lawsuit if you feel wronged! It’s not lawful to first arrest them for insult she’s yet to be convicted for.

Stop defending the people who are taking away your rights. If they came for her over this nonsense and you’re backing the tyrant, you’re writing a check for them to do that with impunity anytime they see fit.
