Don't mind the Erisco man, and I use to admire the man for his entrepreneurial and Nigerian spirit. He us letting his overblown ego get the better of him. What does he exactly hope to gain by jailing the woman? Will jailing the woman be a good advertisement for the tomato product he claims he is trying to protect? Will jailing the woman increase confidence and thus sales of this tomato products? How much exactly is he ready to lose in order to prove the point that he is very powerful and should never be messed with?
I wonder, this move will not help his business atall! In developed countries the media will pile up on him, secretly investigate and expose his business, tax histories, banks transactions, fund spendings and products. their reasons would be why waste time and money chasing after this woman? woman who has already lost her pregnancy as a result of the case, woman who is using human right lawyers to defend herself. What is he trying to hide, gain or prove?

I bet you $100 he is probarbly regretting his actions on this nothing case now. He is an ignorant businessman.

What she did is entirely different from"freedom of speech" that you talked about.

She formally agreed to apologize but declined and dare Erisco to go to court. Both NAFDAC and SON confirmed that Erisco tomatoes is good and edible. Who will defend her now?

Criticizing a product is not a crime. Nowhere in the world. And her first agreement to apologize was under severe durress.

Making a false claim that someone's product is killing people is not freedom of speech. It is a crime!

It may be libel, but certainly not a crime.

Bros! Before you approach court in a case involving influential people be sure you come with equity and no where you violated the law. Even if she has a case of human rights abuse, the fact she was found wanting on cyber stalking and other liable offences should have made her tow the peaceful resolution. Her case on fundamental rights abuse won't stop the same court in convicting her for her offences. There's a reason the popular say that the law is an ass. Where your rights stop is where someone else started, she doesn't need the drag, she has ran out of money hence her lawyer pleading for crowd funding, she has lost a baby in the process, her peace of mind has eluded her, her husband and family will be watching there movement because police is even against them. Is this all worth the "strong head" of not apologizing. Had it been he is influential and have someone close to BAT you might have a case. Infact bring you ear make I whisper you "Nigeria judiciary is for big men with big influence cos matter go tey and lawyers go chop" so if you don't have the wherewithal and influence to fight till the end you better answer coward while pointing to the grave of a strong man. I am sad to say this but the court will make mince of her and even if she got pardoned she will have few months in jail. I really don't think that's what she bargained for when she made the post on Facebook.

Nigeria is bad, Nigeria is bad. Nigeria is not bad, we’re the ones that are bad.
Stop defending oppressors.
Ask Germany how their story started and ended.
If we have nothing good to contribute, the least any of us can do is not to stand with the oppressors in blaming the oppressed. That’s about the lowest bar.
All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. Here’s someone doing something and we still stand in her way. Issokay. We’ll wait till they come for us all, then we’ll have sense.

What most people are implying here is, when a product is bad, don't say anything.....
Erisco food should have warned her and if she still went on to defame without evidence then should be arrested

You are free to report a bad product as long as the said product is bad and you must prove that the product is actually bad.
The lady went out of review, she had intention of killing the company through defamation since her claims were not proven.

This is where you are wrong. NAFDAC and Lagos State government independently tested the product she attacked and they certified it for consumption. Will you say Eriscos bribed both the state government and NAFDAC too? She should have apologized after these findings but she still refused... Can't you see the flaw in her plan?

That's why I'm saying you are too emotional as a man and it's disappointing.

At the bolded. Nobody really like the way the country is going but the truth is Nigeria is "currently" a shithole and if you are still living in the shithole you have to be wise. No matter how I wish for her to defend her oppressors the reality is she can never. Look at how the case is going do you really think this is what she bargained for. Who is going to fight for her now? Do you really think peoples sentiments is going to sway the judge? No matter how you look at it or the support you expected from people the country ineptitude will rub badly on her that's why she should have tow the line of peace.

As for Germany you mentioned, she should have waited to Japa to Germany before dragging a corporate organisation. Her case has appeared in foreign media, civil society have staged protests, Nigerians have even Wade in and contribute money yet she is still been dragged. Tell me what else anyone can do to fight her case.

Yes, she has lost a lot as you pointed out,but what of Erisco himself and his company, how much have they lost. Can you quantify the loss in monetary terms. Even Erisco, his staff and family would suffer some psychological stress as a result of dragging by the public. The longer this case persists the worse for the image of his company and thus his sales. Remember he invested billions in the tomato product, which he is yet to recoup.

Yes the company has suffered losses but not to the extent you elaborated. She is suffering more. As at today, the product is still in market selling, the NAFDAC has confirmed it's a good product, his credit line with investors were not affected, infact I can argue it made him more popular because prior to the case I never know the company exist. Recently I saw their products in the market. Let me shock you, more than 60% of Nigerians don't live their lives on social media hence many didn't know about case and once they go to market they buy it as long it's cheaper after all Nigeria no funny again. it's only the elites will cancel his product but that will be little fraction of the populace. As for staffs, psychological stress? As long as he meets their financial obligations they will keep working when you get tired you resign and some one will take up the job, let Erisco put a job opening publication, thousands if not millions will apply. Where you see job for Naija when you go dey play with the one you have? his only loss is reputational risk which if court grants his request he will start mitigating against that

Her proof is a matter of opinion. In her own view it's too sugary. Nothing wrong in her expressing her opinion. However, I personally think she took it too far with the part that says "it's killing people".

Anyway, I think there's more to this case that meet the eyes. It's sad enough that she's had miscarriage. May God heal her pain.

If she wins this case, mhennnn, Umeofia may be sued for damages that could take him out of businesses.

Also, the "over my dead body" comment from Eric is too deep. I pray he hasn't speak/ill-wish himself to past. The man is too loud mouthed for my liking. Ordinarily, he should have just allowed the company's media or customer relations to handle the issue.
