This is where you are wrong. NAFDAC and Lagos State government independently tested the product she attacked and they certified it for consumption. Will you say Eriscos bribed both the state government and NAFDAC too? She should have apologized after these findings but she still refused... Can't you see the flaw in her plan?

That's why I'm saying you are too emotional as a man and it's disappointing.
NAFDAC tests for pathogens and other harmful substances and not the nutritional value of food products, else coca cola, Pepsi, bigi, and other sugary products would not be given NAFDAC approvals.

No be all of us go be mumu wey dem go give sweet poison in the name of food. If erisco sure say him product na beta one make him let expert carry out test on the particular product.

I remember a case in the 90s when a man bought a bottle of coke cola, he found sediments in the bottle and he immediately reported that coke is now poisonous to drink. If you see the way coke take handle the matter(dem quickly call the man, apologiize and pay for damage), no be like this one wey erisco dey do so. Coke no let am escalate because e go give them bad reputation.

Yes, NAFDAC did and her claims were false so let her come forth with a prove

In the said tomato review, she mentioned two of her preferred tomato brands which made the whole thing look like she was paid to play the devil's advocate.

At the bolded. Nobody really like the way the country is going but the truth is Nigeria is "currently" a shithole and if you are still living in the shithole you have to be wise. No matter how I wish for her to defend her oppressors the reality is she can never. Look at how the case is going do you really think this is what she bargained for. Who is going to fight for her now? Do you really think peoples sentiments is going to sway the judge? No matter how you look at it or the support you expected from people the country ineptitude will rub badly on her that's why she should have tow the line of peace.

As for Germany you mentioned, she should have waited to Japa to Germany before dragging a corporate organisation. Her case has appeared in foreign media, civil society have staged protests, Nigerians have even Wade in and contribute money yet she is still been dragged. Tell me what else anyone can do to fight her case.

When my day comes I hope I have the courage to stand for what's right. She could have towed the line, she chose to stand against all odds. It's a shame that we are widening the gap for her.

Why are the oppressed defending their oppressors? This... This is why I don't see much hope for us. Maybe we can't do much but we have power in numbers. Labor party demonstrated that much, as much as I don't have any allegiance to them.

If everybody says it is sweet, let them come and arrest everybody.
Yes, it is too sweet and yes sweet things are killing us. Let's all go to court and fight that out. Let it be the people vs Erisco. But because we're divided, they can single someone out and scapegoat them.

I understand you tbh. After a while one gets desensitised to the terrible abuse carried out day to day.

Sorry to say this, but Chioma Egodi is a dark soul, if anything was wrong with the product, she should have gone to NAFDAC, or any regulatory agency, she seems feet to address the concerns. Going to Facebook was to destroy and malign Erisco products. Do you know the billions spent in there, initially they asked her to apologize she refused (because of a VERY VERY DARK HEART & PULL HIM DOWN SYNDROME) . If I was Erisco , I will pull string behind. Since she refused to back her claims. SOME HUMANS HER DEMONS.

Where should she be? Has she proven that the tomatoe paste killed people? You don’t know you can go to jail over a fake review?

Yes the company has suffered losses but not to the extent you elaborated. She is suffering more. As at today, the product is still in market selling, the NAFDAC has confirmed it's a good product, his credit line with investors were not affected, infact I can argue it made him more popular because prior to the case I never know the company exist. Recently I saw their products in the market. Let me shock you, more than 60% of Nigerians don't live their lives on social media hence many didn't know about case and once they go to market they buy it as long it's cheaper after all Nigeria no funny again. it's only the elites will cancel his product but that will be little fraction of the populace. As for staffs, psychological stress? As long as he meets their financial obligations they will keep working when you get tired you resign and some one will take up the job, let Erisco put a job opening publication, thousands if not millions will apply. Where you see job for Naija when you go dey play with the one you have? his only loss is reputational risk which if court grants his request he will start mitigating against that

You Erisco defenders are contradicting yourselves. In one breath you say Chioma Okoli's post on Facebook was so bad that it ruined the reputation of Erisco's tomato paste and the company, so she needs to be punished. In the same breath you now say more than 60% of Nigerians don't live their lives on social media hence many didn't know about case. So if Erisco feels that many Nigerians are not bothered with social media, why expend so much energy and capital pursuing a harmless Facebook post?

You said Erisco has not suffered losses to the extent I elaborated, but the company itself contradicted your claims.

She said 'they are killing people'. That's different from it's too sugary or whatever. What proof did she have of people being dead from eating that tomato paste? None!!

Your emotions are clouding your logic and if you can be as sentimental like this as a man, you are already fûcked!!!
Rubbish! there are thousands of people on social media claming that Tifnubu's government's poor policies are "killing people' how many of these people have being arrested and taken to court for making such claims?

demarketing what? Which public product either automobile, beverages, detergents and household won't face public scrutiny.

The man has demarketed his own product more by his actions than that careless woman ever did. (Yes I believe she did it for attention). The Erico man should have milked the attention the lady gave his product

Uhuhn. Good attempt. I understand what you're trying to say, however:

Saying vipers and demons is a figure of speech meant to convey a different meaning within a certain context. You didn't actually start looking for vipers or demons.
It's killing people obviously has to be interpreted within proper context. Was she talking about people dying or was it a figure of speech meant to convey a different meaning.

Who was she talking to, and what led to what? Proving defamation is so incredibly difficult even when the intent is clear, much less here when you have to dig into the comment section to find one line that's paraded without proper context.

Again, who here doesn't do hyperbole when the conversation gets heated. Should you go to jail everytime that happens.

If you're an incredible jerk who thinks this is worth ruining someone's life over, it's very well within your right to try, but you'll be pushing that boulder up a very steep hill. In s normal trial, the lady will win and even have him pay for harassing her. How do you arrest someone on a civil accusation? No conviction and you have the civil liberty violated.

Summary: any which way you twist this, the man is a toxic stew of hatred and abuse. The lady should maybe be a bit mindful of comments but no more than the rest of us.

Be civil a bit.

If anyone feels aggrieved in dispute, the right thing to do is to approach the court. The judiciary will do their job. For me, I really don't care who wins. What is important is the lessons companies and the consumer public would take away from the saga.

Frankly I careless about the case hence I am not defending anyone just an objective analysis, throw the bias opinion that I am defending away. The man and company needs to claim damages hence they will be no case against the lady. Like I said he suffered losses but not to the extent you elaborated. The most significant loss would have been to shut the company down and cancel their products. But NAFDAC approving it mitigated the significant loss. Definitely the company's image was badly affected but as long as many Nigerians are still using the product it won't be significant irrespective of what the owner is saying.

The Chairman just wants to make a scapegoat out of her because she renege on the agreement with the police hence expending energy on the case otherwise the case would have ended and forgotten.

The company can claim damages because the post inherently is bad to their reputation but it doesn't necessarily mean actual damage is done. Corporate entities have different risks and once any damage is done to any of the risk they can claim damages even if they fail to suffer damage.

Like I said as long as the products is still in the market and people still buying the product even if the company puts out statement is still insignificant.
