Hmmm.....

I agree with you. But majority, or almost all of our people going to the UK on study visa claim they have all there Tuition Fees on ground. I don't get it

Treadway:
you see what I was saying. When your countrymen/country keep showing up in the news negatively like this, patterns form, conclusions are made, and repercussions come

First it was highest dependent to student ratio
Then Emdee Tiamiyu
Now cumulatively tens of thousands of Nigerian students across universities being unable to pay up fees

I foresee Nigerian students being shadow-blocked by a good number of UK universities in the very near future.

Not a good look at all.

Good day house pls I need advice for my family friend who is here in the UK with her husband, she needs help from us/ advice/ suggestions. The home office has written to them to leave the UK, because their student route was not successful after the hubby failed on several occasions. Before their visa expired this year January, the lady tried looking for sponsorship, unfortunately she did not get, so a lawyer adviced they apply for PSW on the ground that her hubby will repeat and pass the exams, which they quickly did, but he failed it again and home office refused the application. We are so confused now. They are now overstayers. She is trying to seek asylum. please have anybody gone through this process OR you know any one that has gone through this asylum. Some pple advised to seek asylum in Ireland. Can anybody help us with a good lawyer that can assist. She doesn't have a job now.

Going back home is not the best solution now. pls help we are confused now. Not easy on them. Thank u.

Like how many months did home office give them to write and pass? More light on this.

On the issue of Ireland. They have stationed immigration at Belfast so not an option and secondly Ireland said that a good number of isylum will be deported as majority crossed from UK.
But if u wish, just get to belfast then then uber will take u at night when immigration are off the road to Dublin. But not anyhow uber they are those that does the business.

If they can get to any EU country aside Ireland but again their brp has expired.

If they have enough savings they should come back and set up a business in Nigeria.

Best thing is to come back home. I'm not going to deceive you. It is tough to seek asylum anywhere now - especially as a Nigerian. As an overstayer, it will be very difficult for them to get a job. If they do get a job, it will be very difficult to regularize their stay in the near future. UK is very tough for overstayers now. It is best they come back home and restrategize.

If the asylum route didn’t work, the best bet for her will be to come back home. Living abroad as an illegal immigrant can be very tough and challenging.

The asylum route is not gonna work. Seeking asylum from a country like the UK. It's dead on arrival.

Staying in the UK as a full time worker is not easy not to talk of someone whose brp, share code has expired.

How him and the wife want take rent house? Who go give them job?

The best way is to come home from there plan next move. With time everything will be okay as they heal.

This japa to UK one need to reconsider it right now.

Everything will be okay in Nigeria. Have you been listening to the news or have you tried talking to those in Nigeria currently. Anyway, the UK has always been a useless country. I don't know why anyone will migrate there.

If you understand what it means to be illegal in UK u won't advise ur enemies to try it not alone with a family. If it is In US then fine
Who is going to rent house to them.
Even those with right to work struggle to get job now talk of someone with none.

Are people In Nigeria not eating? Are they not surviving?
Let's stop acting as if Nigeria is death sentence

Bro, there is nothing wrong with returning to Nigeria if the abroad becomes so tough. Life as an illegal immigrant anywhere in the abroad, especially in Europe and Asia, can be so miserable. However, if such persons campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015, I would support them to be illegal migrants. grin

Still surprises me that a thorough interview is held, and UK experience is required for applicants who want to clean floors and toilets.

Damn it! grin grin grin

The mushroom universities would admit easily, but the Russell group of universities would apply extra scrutiny and maybe demand for a blocked account (exclu. scholarship students). It is not easy to say no to Nigerian students. After India and Pakistan, we send the most number of students to the UK. I consider China a different case as the majority are undergraduates and they pay cash. Big people. Too much money. How much is money for Ndi Chinese?

Jokes apart, a cleaning job is one of the easiest and undercover job any unskilled and even illegal migrant should be able to get. It does not need much interviewing - just name and you gree, abi you no gree?

If the cleaning job involves working in a school or care home or even hospital... They classified these areas as vulnerable... So they will take u through lengthy interview. Ask for what they called enhanced DBS.
UK experience for cleaning job no be joke and they meant it as if we no de clean our house.
Another is "do you drive?" if you don't have a car it becomes problem getting jobs

This interview can last anywhere 2 to 3 months on top 20 hours a week job on minimum wage.

All this bottle neck makes getting job not easy.. Although it's because of huge competition....unemployed are way more than the jobs

Agreed. grin grin No wonder they conquered the world.

At least those in Continental Europe make it clear that they don't want black Africans in certain roles.

Good morning Gurus. I'm caught in quite a fix here. I made payment for TLS prime services yesterday morning for Friday. The merchant site for payment stated that the payment was successful and I was debited the said money, but I haven't been sent any email confirming payment for Tls services. Also, my application on my tls portal says I haven't set any appointment, which as a result, makes me unable to upload my documents. Please, I urgently need some advice guys. Thanks in advance.
