National anthem is on the list...you guys dont like reading at all.

They can never implement the most important recommendations like number 15, because of individual political advancement and greed.

That is the real Nigerian issue, not national anthem

Hmmm.

The agreement from the confab are so explicit and reasonable.

That would really help the country.

If Tinubu implements the confab completely.

He will be seen as a reasonable human being even though he is not.

Your own reasonable fa.ther is a non entity

They should add that families of political office holders shouldn't school abroad or go for medical treatment abroad.

I just wish these recommendations can be implemented, it will take us a thousand steps forward

14. Local Government Autonomy

Local Government will no longer be the third tier of government. The federal and states are now to be the only tiers of government. States can now create as many local governments as they want.

The Joint State/Local Government Account be scrapped and in its place the establishment of a State RMAFC with representatives of LG and a Chairman nominated by the Governor.

The Constitution should fix the tenure for Local Government Councils at three years. Conference recommends the scrapping of State Independent Electoral Commission, SIECs.

I totally disagree with this, Absolute nonsense. This governor's na serious wahala and their emblezzement no be here💯

The only thing lacking here for me is resource control

States should control their resources and pay 50% or 10 billion ( which ever is higher) monthly to the federal government

States who cant meet up should merge with who they want but shall lose federal legislative and ministerial slot ( yes do not have am opinion when you don't contribute)
ur last statement will undermine sovereignty....blacks easily cry of marginalization before u know it the quarantined state will begin to see herself and being independent and with that they will want to control all their resources alone and forget ministerial representation.....who tht one help
Re: Summary Of The National CONFAB 2014 Recommendations by yeshuasfootstep(m): 8:10am On May 31
These are the things holding a people down.

And their representatives think picking out only the national anthem (wrongly, because a modified better version by a citizen would have been better)will do the magic.

Let's be watching.
Re: Summary Of The National CONFAB 2014 Recommendations by efemena5050(m): 8:11am On May 31
Based on my analysis of this preposition
Number 20,17,15,5,10,3 are the best while
Number 11 is the most useless of it

And tht one that creat room for the governor to be in position of the local govt in all ramifications while the federal government still allocate money to the local govt .....
Who recommended this part above is very daft unintelligent and useless......

GEJ did well to organize one of the best confab. He should have been reelected to implement it instead of Buhari, the undisputed heavyweight champion of incompetence

Jonathan spent almost two years in office after the confab. Why didn't he implement the report?

Only the NA has the power to change the constitution. Jonathan was only playing to the gallery.

The confab was a complete waste of money and time.
We don't need any confab to change the constitution.

There are some bad recommendations here, giving too much power to governor's, the least viable post to be elected is State House of Assembly. This deprive the citizens of grassroot involvement in politics since the local government chairmen will be selected be governors

Why are you Africans scared of people leaving your country and forming their own

If there is an advantage to being Nigeria why should they leave?

All other recommendations are fair except the ones that suggest creating more states for whatever reason, I do not see the need for any new state. If possible sef, the qualification to be a state should have a minimum land mass.

Don't worry. Before Tinubu leaves office, you will see a true confab.

Jonathan wasted our money and people's time.

The problem of Nigeria is not economy but system that is not allowing the economy to work

Is it only national anthem that is reverted?
Something is about to happen!
Re: Summary Of The National CONFAB 2014 Recommendations by CaptainGo: 8:47am On May 31
100% bullshit.

What rubbish is this? undecided

That confab was a waste of time and resources if this is what they arrived at.

Apart from two recommendations the rest are apt. We should have gone far by now into prosperity.

It will not be well with APC and Buhari and Tinubu that stole power and jettisoned this beautiful ideas

Good but some contradictions

10. Fiscal Sharing Formula and 14. Local Government Autonomy

In one breath, sharing was alloted to LG, and then advocating that LG should be scrapped as a tier of government, with state having the autonomy to create LG.

They should have increase State fiscal sharing, and allot the LG certain percentage from the state revenue, like 50-60%
Lol you saw what I saw. I was wondering if I am the one that didn't understand it.
