P.O.S in Islam by Adek65: 11:05pm On May 29 |
Asalam Alaikun waramatullah wabarakatul,my question is is it permissible to withdraw money through agents? The agent will charge certain percentage like #100 for 5,000,or #200 for #10,000, If you want #5000 you may asked them to deduct #5100 from your account so they give you #5000 cash, or you may give them #100 cash and they remove exactly #5000 from your account. And what is the permissibility of using conventional banks here in Nigeria, where finding Islamic Bank is rare and not that common like conventional banks, because I don't even think there is one with any physical presence here in my area. Lastly is it permissible to be this kind agent? jazakalah khairan. 4 Likes 1 Share

Adek65: Well, it's a business that has to do with exchanging value. As a POS agent, you help people get their money from their accounts and give them the equivalent value. To facilitate this, you pay some fee including 0.5% to the Terminal issuer and this is part of the ₦100 or so you charge. Stamp fee and all. To me, it's simply provision of service for people which I see no sin in but I'd let the Islamic scholar give hadith and Sunnah perspective. Allahu A'lam 25 Likes |

Of course ! There are some things that shouldn't even be debated or discussed. Give unto Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar. It is their job and they need to earn an income. They provide solution to your financial/cash challenges just as we provide solution to all your IELTS/Travel needs. Check below if you are tired of scoring low band scores in IELTS. Salam’! But What has POS got to do with religion? It’s just one of the few means of transactions either crediting or withdrawals. The charges are also necessary because 1- it saves time( you can imagine the queue in the bank) 2- A POS stand is almost visible everywhere right now 3- in cases of emergency, accessing cash isn’t a problem and so many more importance. Just as the conventional banks charges for ATM machine withdrawals , so the POS chargers too( tho higher ) because 1- The built or bought the POS stand 2- they buy cash too in order to be able to give out for withdrawals 3- The pay for the rented space that the stand is located 4- they employ staffs 5- they will have to make profit too! It’s a business 10 Likes |

Chevrolet076:You don't need a scholar to tell you what is explicitly clear. It's a business where customers are charged for service rendered. If you question POS charges, it's be ideal you' question bank charges and 9f course market charges and all that. 5 Likes |

Adek65:The bolded is a sign of Arabic colonialism. You want to write in English but you first have to greeting your audience in Arabic. Your brain has been programmed that greeting in Arabic makes you a proper Muslim. To the question. Did Muhammad use POS in his time? You have your answer!! 19 Likes 3 Shares |

Is this an example of islamic cleaning up? It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said: "It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you perform Wudu' from the well into which the bodies of dogs, menstrual rags and garbage are thrown?' He said: 'Water is pure and it is not made impure by anything.'" The ₦100 is like a riba, so it's a sin to collect riba. Okpokpo09: Well, islamic banking system is a good banking system,, just know that you are also benefiting from the banking system of islamic banking, most especially the SUKUK being collected by the governors of your states to construct roads, so these loans are interest free loans. 4 Likes |
