Ibime:I too find it hard to believe, SLS with all his education and exposure would be in the midst of that? Notwithstanding the fact FFK is a known waffler. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 1:05pm On Jun 01 |
GloriousGbola:It didn't take much actually, especially when you consider Sanusi always wanting to give his opinion on things he's not okay with. But then, would be nice to know what led to him bolting, and the truth on the Gideon Akaluka story....I'm sure newspaper clippings from that era would have helped. |

I just found out Yinka Odumakin wrote about it years ago. And he himself accused Sanusi of it. The Tribune article: https://www.nairaland.com/7159017/beheaded-gideon-akaluka-yinka-odumakin https://tribuneonlineng.com/who-beheaded-akaluka/ Premium Times referenced FFK's post but refused to mention SLS: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/534544-nigeria-when-men-were-courageous-and-decisive-by-femi-fani-kayode.html?tztc=1 Here's a 1996 article about it but one needs to subscribe to read it indepth: https://www.ecoi.net/en/document/1239503.html . |

Ibime:Lol, won't put it past FFK to pull a lie out of nowhere, if FFK is truly the origin of the story I'd have a hard time believing it. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:10pm On Jun 01 |
Ibime: FFk was one of the chief apc is janja--weed noisemakers back then anyone with beef with gej was promptly smeared with stories of being some sort of enemy of state. some were even making stories of sanusi being a boko haram sponsor this may be why there is now a fierce pushback against all these made up stories. because 5 or ten years from now, what was clearly an absurd , ridiculous and made up story will be accepted as an obscure but true fact 7 Likes 1 Share |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:13pm On Jun 01 |
Theflint1: everthing about gideons death speaks to his being beheaded by a mob . if there was any substance to this story, you can rest assured ganduje would have used it to slam the final nail in sanusi's coffin. lets even say Sanusi is an extremist - the wealthy are NEVER at the forefront of mob action. they can incite it, they can promote it, but if you really think a prince with future ambitions in a country like nigeria would be the one getting his hands dirty, wielding a machete and beheading a person and carrying his head. it is even more absurd when you realize sanusi was 34 years old at the time. a career banker left work to lead a mob to commit a lynchng? 7 Likes 1 Share |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 1:16pm On Jun 01 |
WhoDeyHause: The news piece was silent on whether the Muiz guy has been arrested or not, but I want to believe he was still a staff when the fraud was discovered so heās most likely to have been arrested . He just put some other innocent people in trouble . I think the last paragraph of the news says some of the funds was used to buy USDT from some online traders ; all those ones have had their accounts frozen by the authorities now. Those ones will be running heater skelter to get the freeze on their account lifted through court order . |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 1:17pm On Jun 01 |
GloriousGbola:Yea, it's clear it was a mob, but the issue is whether Sanusi was a part of the mob? |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by WhoDeyHause: 1:26pm On Jun 01 |
BlueRayDick:Ok I thought he was still on the run. Yes their accounts have been frozen according to the report, bad luck. I just pity first bank customers especially with bank charges since the bank must recover their money one way or the other. 40 billion from a bank not even government treasury. This man bad o. and is also dumb cause he must have believed it'll have taken long before he will be caught despite the huge amount. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by WhoDeyHause: 1:28pm On Jun 01 |
Theflint1:Not even part of the mob, but the one who beheaded Gideon. I don't believe it even if he's an extremist. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:28pm On Jun 01 |
BlueRayDick: i have told the story before, but this is also how a guy running game like this got our then CFO sacked the CFO was very casual with token and password, and had always been the overly trusting type - i remember the CFO years ago as an officer, falling for a common 'you have won phone send money to collect it' scam. basically gave the guy token and password to run company forex transactions |

Theflint1: Sanusi was jailed for taking part in MKO protest But I won't be surprised if Abacha would also try to wipe out anyone associated with Sharia sha. Anything that was contrary to his military rule was a target 3 Likes |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:37pm On Jun 01 |
Ibime: even that has kleg because according to sanusis wikipedia page, he returned to nigeria in 1997 He left the bank in 1991, when he travelled to Sudan, to pursue studies in Arabic and Islamic studies at the International University of Africa in Khartoum.[17] In 1997, he returned to Nigeria and joined the United Bank for Africa working in the credit and risk management division ā he rose through the ranks to the position of general manager.[18] In 2005, Sanusi became a board member and executive director in charge of risk Abacha died 8 June 1998 anyone with beef with him was dead, in the gulag or in exile |

GloriousGbola: He went to Khartoum in 1991 and ran away again in 1996 after release from jail, finally returning in 1997 He said with his own mouth he was sent to a jail in Sokoto from June 1995 to June 1996 and I read a piece by his daughter saying it was for taking part in the MKO protests |

liveLongNprospa:So exportation is what is causing our food crisis not insecurity with herdsmen and bandits killing farmers or forcefully collecting taxes from them before they can step on their farm, not cost of seedlings or transportation of their crops to the market for sale cause of the hike in our currency due to inflation. I no even know where them carry this one come from. 1 Like |

WhoDeyHause: 2 years is a long time o. In fact heās lucky people had not been complaining of not getting transaction reversal . If people had complained much earlier , he wouldnāt have been able to make that much . I know of a case in of the old generation banks; the same format this guy was running . When people transfer money and the transaction failed but their get debited , they go to the bank and complain after which the customer care will forward complain to the e-process units for them to process reversal . That guy was also pushing the reversal to a third party account which he solely controls . That guy didnāt get more than a little above 100m before he was nabbed and handed over to EFCC after customers came to complain of not getting reversal despite the bankās system showing the reversal has been pushed . |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 1:55pm On Jun 01 |
GloriousGbola: That CFO was not smart and donāt deserve the seat. A CFO is supposed to be the most cautious person in an organization . Person wey Dey control the finance of an organization no supposed Dey allow anybody near his workstation at all. Even if IT wan run anything on his system it should be under close supervision na. If person don Dey reach those kind level there should be some high level of awareness one just needs to develop |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:58pm On Jun 01 |
BlueRayDick: i actually agree with you on that i never saw that particular cfo as a smart person, way back when the person was a finance officer so ibime - how paranoid are you |
