Dolapo Badmus Warns School For Reciting Former National Anthem by Newlymarried(f): 5:26am On Jun 02
Former Lagos police PRO, Dolapo Badmus, has called for the arrest of the Proprietor and Head Teacher of a private school for singing the “old” national anthem. In a post she shared on IG, Dolapo said she was passing through the school this morning and heard the pupils singing the old National anthem. She said she has alerted the police to come and arrest them and will ensure they get charged to court.

‘’If, as at today, three days after the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria signed and assented the New National Anthem into law and you are not able to recite it in a whole, then you are a suspect

I just passed through a private school and I could here them singing the old National Anthem! "Arise oh compatriots"! (We are no more arising as compatriots, it is Nigeria we are hailing now). I have called police to come and arrest not only the proprietor but the head teacher inclusive (I will make sure they are charged to court) Don't ask me for what offence? Consult any lawyer to learn more........ Anyone not singing the new national anthem is sabotaging Nigeria , I won't tolerate any unpatriotic attitude....''

What a country!

As Adeola Fayehun said, (rephrased) "If you tell the Nigeria government that you have headache, you'll not get painkillers, you'll get nail-polish. So that you can at least look good while having the headache - or at least have something to argue about."

In a sane country, this would have been opened for public debate. A new national anthem does not make Nigerians more patriotic.
These folks gaslight you about being patriotic with:
- "Buy the Naira to grow the Naira" ... but state governors are probably roundtripping forex with federal allocation.
- "Nigeria is ours to build" ...but they steal our collective wealth and share morsels (with their photo on the pack) to those they stole from
- "A new national anthem will make us more patriotic" ...those niggas can't even sing it!

The most preposterous thing is that we have high tolerance for nonsense from our leaders. In fact, all Nigerian's do is to complain a bit, pray for them (tbh most of our leaders are scoundrels).

- Our leaders do insane things, and we do not demand their resignation. Absolutely no monumental pressures on our leaders.
- One day, we'll wake up with a constitutional change that takes more power off citizens, and nothing will happen!

We all know it's already a law.
Weather we like it or not, we must respect the adopted heritage of Nigeria.

To talk of this, this new adopted national anthem is emotional. I'm always having goosebumps when I hear it... I still don't know why.

Lol dont ask you for what offense?

The arrogance and obvious lack of knowledge speak volumes

All the school needs to do is to claim the arise anthem is the school private anthem

No wonder the police keep losing cases

Of not the bad conditions of nigerian prisons and police cells that make people settle cases fast I doubt the dumb police and nigerian persecution team can win 5% of cases

Truth of the matter is, if you sing the national anthem that is not approved by law then you risk legal sanctions. No sentiments.

Let’s say they arrest them , charge them to court and sentence them to prison. So, what will now be ur gain Dolapo ?

The Nigeria police that could not solve high profile murder cases like Bola Ige’s , Dipo Dina’s, Harry Marshall’s etc is suddenly proactive in arresting people who are not singing the new national anthem 3 days after it was signed into law .

SMH 🤦‍♂️
