Though this news is from mischief makers, it's baseless. Lagos can't stand alone for many reasons . Land mass small, agriculture comes to mind. Other western states have coast line, seaport sure. Many south western states divert their resources to western region. Lastly, Lagos and Ogun state borders are envelope together. Like ogijo lkorudu, Berger iisheri. Sango OTA just to mention afew. 8 Likes |

kettykin: Lagos state was carved out of western region. All the industrial estates in Lagos was created by the western region. You cannot covet what you created. What is going to be left of Lagos state if all the parts carved out of Western region was returned? Think about it. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Christistruth00: Well, if they demand for the Original areas that were the Colony of Lagos to be carved out for them separately, I see nothing bad in it. They may have their reasons for desiring to be separated. Personally, I feel it has to do with their Saro history. 1 Like |

Volksfuhrer: That is the spirit. Just like Igbos are not worrying about having Calabar or Uyo in their geopolitical zone. Yorubas have enough in the remaining states and human resources, to still be bigger and greater than Lagos, but people like Tinubu must be kept out of leading Yorubas for Yorubas to achieve their full potential. Even if Port-Harcourt and Ikwerres refuse to join Igbo and opt to team up with Ijaws and other minorities, the Igbo geo-political zone will grow and become much greater than the region that Port-Harcourt is a part of, once full restructuring takes place. 10 Likes |

ALCOHOLKILLS: A former Lagos governor knows he can never be chosen to lead the SW in a regional government So he's the one behind it. He knows the wealth he stole in Lagos will eventually be confiscated by a SW regional government. He will continue to sponsor groups left and right to fight off regionalism from Lagos 2 Likes |

Lagos is a Yoruba state, simple . no one can remove Lagos from Yoruba land, I can only think of just one greedy person instigating this idea because he has looted Lagos to coma and now that DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF YORUBA is about to begin her own government, he's planning to cut it off. Lagos has been existing before you were born and you cant come out from your hole and says Lagos isn't Yoruba state. Who born am. 4 Likes |

Actually they are 9, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Kwara and part of Kogi . Kwara and that part of kogi are the old Oyo empire, but if merged becomes 8 states. BROTHER MAKE UNA READ HISTORY SMALL O. Go and follow River Niger to the left till it enters into the lagoon, that's Yoruba land. for proper understanding study the map from 1800 before independence till today 2024, you will be shocked how much land the North has stolen from Yoruba .
