bomsyvic: Exactly but the return visa stuff is actually a new requirement. This was confirmed from qatar head office. Even while at the brazilian airport, the person met other nigerians seeking asylum in brazil. |
Re: Memoirs From Chile by bomsyvic: 2:56am On Jun 03 |
tensazangetsu20:The person should book sky airline ticket from Brazil to Chile. They only need to snap the visa and send to the national Migration service in Chile for confirmation before approval to board can be made. I don't know the kind of jobs those seeking asylum in Brazil want to do especially when you don't speak Portuguese |
Re: Memoirs From Chile by tensazangetsu20(m): 3:02am On Jun 03 |
bomsyvic: He was allowed to board but he missed his first flight. The connecting flight is LATAM airways and imagine them saying they don't know how to verify his visa. LATAM airways is Chilean owned and their headquarters is in Santiago Chile. Dude was just discriminated against. 1 Like |
Re: Memoirs From Chile by bomsyvic: 3:08am On Jun 03 |
tensazangetsu20: That is why I said the person should use sky. Getting to Chile from Nigeria is very hectic and the national Migration service don't have email to contact them if anything goes wrong. |

tensazangetsu20: Don't come back yet o if not you will need a transit visa to go back. Is it possible to convert the e-visa to a sticker visa? The worst part we don't have Chilean embassy in Nigeria and the consulate in Ghana are not helping matters |
Re: Memoirs From Chile by tensazangetsu20(m): 3:19am On Jun 03 |
bomsyvic: I have a residency card now. So I don't need a sticker visa but I can't risk coming to Nigeria with what I heard today. God forbid. 3 Likes |

tensazangetsu20: Good for you. Plan well if you want to visit Nigeria. My Kenyan friend travelled through Paris without transit visa. I don't know if it's because of our passport. |

To enter Chile from Nigeria now is very hard. I didn't have any of these issues I am hearing about. Things have changed drastically and it's not even a year . This is even after getting a visa o. Chei 1 Like |

Re: Memoirs From Chile by tensazangetsu20(m): 11:13am On Jun 03 |
Kaczynski: Dey play. Chileans only need two years of residency in Spain to secure EU passport how many of them are going there likewise other Spanish speaking countries plus even the worst country like venezuela doesn't need visa to Europe. Whos going there. UK is literally the best country in Europe. Which countries are better than UK, Sweden, Denmark or what . Which work dey there? 1 Like |

Re: Memoirs From Chile by Lordbinsmar: 1:42pm On Jun 03 |
tensazangetsu20: Don't be a novice man. Their lot of South American migrate to the west, especially Spain. I lived in Spain for more than a year and the South Americans have very large communities in Spain. They have one of the largest communities in Spain apart form the Native Spanish. All of my South American classmate and seniors did not return to South America after graduation, they all stayed back in Europe. I don't get where your claim that South Americans don't migrate to Europe is coming from. Also don't be naive by comparing Scandinavian countries with UK. Apart from language barrier, their are more opportunities in Scandinavian countries compared to UK. Chile is a good place for you, but don't compare the standard of living in the South America to Europe. They are miles apart. Chile of course is a very good country compared to Nigeria and whatever Country someone lives doesn't matter so much. Knowing how to tap into opportunities is the most important thing in this digital age. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Memoirs From Chile by tensazangetsu20(m): 1:53pm On Jun 03 |
Lordbinsmar: This is the koko. Honestly, if you are a professional Chile is a much better deal. I am not a senior level programmer. I am more mid level and I have gotten offers equivalent to 4000 usd here in Chile. Tax here is just 15 percent. In Europe to get what you are getting here as net with the crazy taxes, you need to be earning like 80000 euros. How many jobs in Europe pay that. People work for years and only get like 50000 euros annually. The only thing I will say is that Chile isn't an ideal place to do hustle jobs as those pay minimum wage. 1 Like |

tensazangetsu20: I say again man, you are very exposed and I respect you a lot man. But don't shit on other Countries just because you live in a particular Country. I'm living in my 4th European Country in 2 years and I tell you man, nothing special in living in o particular geographical location of the world. All humans no matter the location they are all huzzling for money. So to me its no big deal. I won't hide the fact that living in some geographical location of the world opens door for more opportunities but you can make it in life no matter the location and migration is not particular to any tribe or race. Europeans, American and Asians migrate also to Nigeria to exploit our resources and economy so its no big deal, every body in this world is huzzling for money in one way or the other. You saying there are no jobs paying 4k dollars to people in Europe shows is either you are naive or biase about salary in Europe, especially considering the fact that you are into tech. Also let me ask you what is the median salary of people living in Chile? So everybody living in Chile will have the opportunity to be paid 4K dollars per month. It all depends on how skilled you are man, if you are well skilled you will make money regardless of your geographical location in the world. Most of the best guys from my set in OAU are into software and they are all balling. Just of recent one of my classmate in Ife got promoted to a Senior Software engineer role in a US based company. Although I don't know how much he would be paid but maybe he will be paid more than 4K dollars and he is based in Nigeria. So what are we talking about.? Its a know fact that software engineering is one of the highest paid profession in the world, so it has nothing to do with Chile or what so ever. Also make your research well man, I can say it anywhere that after for the US, Europe is the next region of the world that pays professional well for their skills. And also don't compare Scandinavian countries to UK again ooo. please don't be naive. 5 Likes |

Lordbinsmar: The same scandinavian countries that people are complaining they cant see cleaning jobs to do right here on nairaland. I did interview with some european companies while living here and honestly what they were offering was much lower than what you would get working for a local chilean company. The highest offers were from US companies and Chilean companies. 3 Likes |

tensazangetsu20: You don't need work to survive in an EU country Some EU countries allocate individuals universal basic income (UBI) Most EU countries are forking comfortable to live , regardless of work or not , how many south american countries are comfortable to live in without working?? In a south American country,if you don't work , you're gonna starve to death |
Re: Memoirs From Chile by tensazangetsu20(m): 5:34pm On Jun 03 |
Kaczynski: UBI is for citizens and permanent residents and not immigrants. |
