Minimum Wage Negotiations Will Be Tough - Atedo Peterside by References1: 6:53pm On Jun 03 |
The Nigerian minimum wage negotiations were going to be unnecessarily difficult because FG "poisoned" the atmosphere for responsible negotiations by approving a reckless N90bn Hajj Subsidy, Luxury SUVs for Legislators etc thereby creating the false impression that FG was rich Atedo Peterside 77 Likes 12 Shares

My only problem with this minimum wage issue is that it only favours civil servants. Those of us in the private sector, and those who have no sector are suffering the hardship brought by the strike. Ones labour get what they want they'll move on. 75 Likes 6 Shares |

Leave the reckless spending Government. When they were spending all those monies they considered politics more vital than the workforce 43 Likes 2 Shares |

One actually needs to go hard on the Nigerian government if he or she intends to achieve a positive result. The politicians are so wicked, cruel, barbaric, and inhumane. What exactly do the senators do to warrant the ridiculous allowances and wages they allocate to themselves? 50 Likes 3 Shares |

Good. Anything to give this useless and careless government headache is welcome. Any minimum wage less than 100 dollars is unacceptable. 18 Likes 2 Shares |

When it comes to the masses, FG and inflation becomes topics for discussion. But when it's time to approve bogus allowances for politicians, they do it swiftly and quietly 36 Likes 3 Shares |

We are too emotional and sentimental in this country. Y'all shouting bogus allocation for lawmakers, what is the percentage of their money in our national income to what workers are taking every month? You can't even compare the ratio. Political office holders throughout the country don't even make up to 3 percent of total government workers in the country. Only heavy workers wages can sink the country into unrecoverable debt and total collapse, politicians take home is too megre to achieve similar purpose. Let it be long. This is what you get when you have Governors that have not even started implementing 30k minimum wage as members of the negotiation Committee. Why didn't they make Obaseki the leader of the Federal government's delegation? 3 Likes |

Subsidising Hajj is not what the Nigerian government should even bother itself with. Even though it's a crucial pillar in Islam, it's done ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE THE MEANS to do so. The irresponsible government spending hugely to subsidize Hajj for people who already can afford it. Nigeria should think of having a vision that all Nigerians should know about even when they are awakened from slumber 4 Likes 1 Share |
