Hello bro,
Sorry for the refusal. Do t give up. Re-apply.

In my case I tried to appeal but VFS told me I would pay appeal fees which was almost equal to new application, so I did not appeal again. Luckily for me the day February 6 2024, I got my refusal, VFS Abuja portal was open, I was able to book again against March 21 ,2024 so I have enough time to gather extra support documents and also, i wanted to reapply in Lagos to avoid spending air fare and hotel Costa to Abuja. However from that Feb 6 till date , I have not heard of VFS open for appointment in Lagos or Abuja. So I ended up travelling again to Abuja on March 20, did VFS application on March 21 and returned to Lagos on March 21. This week is the third week since I applied, so I am optimistic. My first refusal came in 6 days from application, today is 18 days from my second application.

I noticed when I first applied, most of the people attending to clients were new trainees. I knew because they kept moving them from desk to desk and I over heard a supervisor telling them that one someone will come and train them in another room and some of the girls at the desk said, " Thank God" , meaning they were not ready in confidence on what they were expected to do. What annoyed was that the experienced lady who attended to me first time removed some of my docs like past UK, France and Portugal visas and said its not necessary, that Portugal embassy has my records . I also think my letter my not have been good enough.
In my second application, nothing was removed, the woman who attended to me did not remove anything.

Check your PCC , if it is not expired, reapply if you can get appointment, but VFS now has become something else to get appointment date. I was lucky I booked the Abuja date for appointment as I was thinking if I get Lagos date, I will ignore the Abuja appointment, but I have not been able to get Lagos appointment. Even someone who was willing to exchange or sell her appointment to me, VFS said appointment was not transferable, so I went to Abuja. I am hoping for the best

Please I sent you a PM, kindly respond sir, I have something I want to ask you about Portugal JSV.

Good day everyone, please if i may ask for someone that is married, is it a must to submit marriage certificate, though it isn't part of their requirements on the vfs portals. And for those asking for documents required, go to vfs global type job seeker visa for portugal and you'll be able to see everything you need. People can post it for you but you should also do your findings to confirm everything sent to you.

Please can I dm you. My cousin just got denied and she wants to appeal

Please can I dm you. My cousin just got denied and she wants to appeal
When did she apply?
What was the reason for denial?
How tight was her SOP?
What was her SOA balance?
List other supporting documents she sent?
What was the correlation with her current job to the field she field in her IEFP form?
Does she have any travel history?
How long did the visa process last before the denial?

Answer this questions carefully and you will find answers on how to tackle your appeal.
NB: Appeal has a 85% possibility of success.

Your intention wasn't strong enough , it wasn't convincing enough that you will return home if you failed to secure a job in Portugal

No idea. My certificate was not legalized by embassy. just the PCC
As to how long Ministry of Education (MoE) will take to authenticate your certificate, it depends on how long your school registrar takes to confirm to MoE by email

Please I have a question, I don't have my original certificate yet, but my school agreed to send me the original copy to my email

My question is can I print, and can I authenticate that copy, or I need to submit the original certificate for authentication.

The issue is I have to travel down to pick up the original copy which will cost me nothing less than 300k including flight cost etc.

So I'm looking for other alternatives.

Thank you.

You do not need to choose the cancellation, because your application Is not cancelled by them .you will need to choose other options and specify your reasons, then the cancellation letter is not needed

Is not that expensive! Try and contact or visit some of the insurance companies in your area e.g AIICO , AXA Mansard, Custodian, Lead way etc
Re: Portugal Job Seekers Visa by hunee: 3:57pm On Jun 04
Please for clarity, Health Insurance or Travel Insurance. I believe they are not same. You only pay for Health insurance after visa approval as i am told for portugal.

if it's job seeker visa. You don't need to worry. Even statement of result will do. It's the photocopy you are to submit. Just make sure you write a good cover letter and a good statement of purpose

I really don't understand your question. You have to pay for health insurance before applying for visa. It's one of the criteria. I used axa mansard. And make sure it covers the duration of travel

This Jobseeker and Job seeker wey I dey hear everywhere .... Una dey try to ask the people wey don enter Portugal with this visa, HOW FAR?

This visa is a TRAP, making life very difficult for those already on the ground.

From No JOBS to bringing a PERMIT and not Recognizing your JOBSEEKER visa .... Many things are happening inside.

Don't forget that getting the Job is not even the toughest, The TAX (3-6 months), as Portuguese employers don't file your tax for you, You have to pay a lawyer or accountant to file your invincible TAXES.

Make your inquiries oo, apart from say the Visa Rejection rate sef LOUD.
I really appreciate it that you are looking out for people. But it's not that bad.
1.You don't need lawyer for Job seeker visa. Maybe those that used the tourist visa do. But for jobseeker visa you don't need a lawyer
2. Once you get a job every other thing is settled.
Although getting a job can be a VERY difficult but if u have a skill and basic knowledge of portugese you are good to go. A friend got a plumbing job in two weeks. I got mine a little later. Some people get jobs some don't. You never know till you try. Everyone has different grace. But trust me the job seeker visa is the best path to getting your residency. If all goes well in less than 6 months you have your card. But like I said getting the job is most important
3. The language. Please and please learn before you come. It makes your lire easier... I wish I did. It would even help get a job speedily
4.please come with enough money to sustain you till you get a job. U don't want to sleep outside o. Come with money. Lol

Are you replying to me based on what you heard or are you in Portugal?

No one, No Jobseeker Gets Residency in 6months..... none!

The only and fastest way to Residency is tru Study for 6 Months maximum if you meet the requirements.

Job seeker is another Manifestation of Interest but a Faster approach.

You get a job and go for your appointment, with your job contract, Then for the next 3 months, your TAX is reviewed.

This is where it gets tricky, A Portuguese employer doesn't file Taxes for you because they pay you by hand, ( they are also beating the system).

How then do you file your Taxes? You approach a lawyer and he/she uses the minimum wage to arrange your taxes and help you document them, this is also expensive.

If you get an Employer who will pay you by Your Tax account, you will earn less because he will also pay direct taxes for you than some who pays you by hand, this person who pays you by hand will pay you more.

I am in Portugal..the appointment comes automatically with the job seeker visa.
When you get a job that comes with a contract your tax will be automatically deducted and settled. You don't need a lawyer. You don't need a manifestation of interest, we already did that when applying for the visa and that is why the visa came with appointment for SEF.
The most important and difficult part is to get a job.
This problem you are explaining applies to those who came with tourist visa.

With the availability of the tourist visa/Schengen visa on the VFS webpage, is it possible to change it to work visa or study visa on getting to Portugal?
