This is not true. Airline will only be fine if the passenger doesn’t have the necessary documents to enter into the country.

Can you define what is considered necessary documentation when a person is deemed unfit to enter a country despite having a visa and is turned back at the point of entry? I think the issue most of us are having is that we don’t see the problems created by our people using visitor visas to claim asylum en masse, but we rush to condemn the airline. Let me tell you, if the airline asks you for any documentation and you try to argue, they will pass you to the head, usually a white guy. He will contact the Canadian embassy, and don't be surprised if your visa gets cancelled, and there’s nothing you can do. You have to accept or reject it. I have seen that happen.

Create account here if you don't already . you will see the activities showing they received the webform you sent.

Sorry to hear about the refusal , I would reapply again and do you have any travel history? are you self employed ? Sometimes is not about the balance in your account.

I just checked the tracker, I don’t see anywhere in the activities log where they acknowledged receiving my webform.

I am not self employed, I work with a US company and I have been to the UK and many African countries

Your valid, unexpired passport, visa, and airline ticket are what a passenger needs to check in for a flight.
When the passenger arrives at his or her final destination, the immigration officers of that country can allow or disallow the passenger to enter at their discretion.

The new rules that some passengers have to show invitation letters or hotel reservations are not set by the airlines but by those agents at the airport to make money for themselves. We are our own problem because we like to take advantage of others.

We all know that they will let you go eventually if you pay their price, but I asked my brother not to do that. I called a friend to write the letter and sent it to my brother.

In 2013, my wife wasn’t allowed to check in at Lagos airport because her UK visa had no seal. I believe they could fine British Airways if they had allowed her to travel with that particular visa. Anyway, she went straight to the UK embassy the following morning to rectify this.

Invitation letter/hotel reservation is part of the necessary documents to fly in this part of the world

It shouldn’t be that way. Our people at the airport are just talking advantage of travelers.

You might be exempted because you are a frequent traveler.

The attendant will flip through your passport if you notice, once they discover you are a frequent traveler then you will be granted access immediately,,,, it's opposite for first time traveler.

But wait, are you comparing the advanced country system with Nija own? 😁😁😁 All those nonsense only happen in Nigeria ofcus

You are a frequent traveler and it's easy for you to say this, but do you know how many new traveller have had their Canadian visa canceled because they chose to argue when asked to provide some requirements at the boarding counter? This is especially true for new travelers whose main aim is to use visitor visa and claim asylum and use agent for visa application and do not even know what the agent use on their application . Or will you argue that the airline has no right to report a passenger to the embassy? I personally blame our people for abusing every system and then turning around to blame others!

Anything goes here in Nigeria because I don’t see any reason why an airline agent will cancel a passenger’s visa.

Only immigration officers can cancel a visa if they find out out you lie in your application or they determine you’re coming in illegally.

Anyway, I believe you, I don’t want us to drag this further so we don’t derail the purpose of this thread.

Read my previous write-up; I never said the airline cancels the visa. If the airline is not satisfied with your explanation or you cannot provide what they request, then they contact the embassy regarding your visa. After a few questions, they will notify you that you cannot board and that you need to contact Canada immigration. Later, you will find out that the visa has been cancelled in your application portal , and the embassy will tell you to reapply. It happens.

me over in Canada (visit VISA) updated his work record on March 4. I want to know when will my application start counting?

Before the decision, I think days after I first sent the application.

I have requested for gcms notes to know what went wrong.

I am guessing they interpreted my statement of account as naira instead of USD because I submitted my DOM current account. That will be silly of them tho

IRCC mostly does not consider documents submitted via webform after you submitted your visa application unless they are requested or related to a change of passport ,change of name, change in marriage status, the birth of a new baby , minor error like you forget to state your previous usa visa refuse or withdraw of your application .

What you guys don’t know is ircc look beyond your account balance. They also use other factors to determine your eligibility. You can reapply and package your application well. If you need a professional travel service, I do offer one at a low cost. It’s up to you.
benjijosh:
Good morning I just got a refusual but I am sure it's wrong because I submitted documents to backup the points I was rejected for via web form and I am sure that was not used.

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by
paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/
section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will
leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the
details you have provided in your application.

How can I appeal this decision?

Purpose of application was tourism
I submitted via web form my property documents
My statement of account has over $50k in it

I don't understand why some people do not understand this @bolded.

Canadian embassy do not care about the billions in your account.
They look beyond that.

Be careful boss! You seem desperate, Singapore is not easy. Don’t let anyone sell you a pipe dream of the Singaporean work visa.

You are better off in Nigeria till you can find a way to get to Canada.

Good day everyone. I have been following this thread consistently and was hoping that one day I'll get to share my testimony. That was not the case, but still, I will share my Timeline for any that may still be believing God for a visa in this path. Don't give up. It may not have been for me but it doesn't mean it's not for you. Visit visa.

Application lodged- 12th December, 2023
Biometrics- 19th December, 2023
Refusal- 5th June, 2024

My application:

Duration of stay- 2 weeks
Travel history- Dubai and Singapore visa and stamps
Pof- $11,000 in my bank account (from savings)
Family pictures
Receipts from land purchases in Lagos and Ph
Sources of funds (contracts with my clients)
Motivation letter

I am actually not upset with this news, because I'd already passed the depression stages after waiting for months with no response from ircc. It was very painful because the person I sat down beside with during biometrics on the same day got his own visa after two weeks and have traveled to Canada since while I kept waiting. I am also on Filipino and Indian groups where I see people getting decisions after 30 days, but Nigerians Wil take months just to get denied.

For my Japa journey, I first tried study path, it didn't work because of the increment in pof requirements, I couldn't afford it so I gave up on that. Then I discovered a new pathway; the Francophone mobility program (this is good for those who know French and have visit visa). I spent a lot of time and money improving my french skills, but I also gave up on that after discovering the huge rate at which they are deporting Nigerians on visit visa because of asylum cases.

I'd honestly thought that since my application took long, it would be approved. And its clear that Canada laws are now becoming more stringent given that I submitted a strong application. I have seen now that Canada may not be for me.

I would have tried Express entry route but I don't have enough work experience. I have promised myself that I will not stay in Nigeria beyond this year for the sake of my mental health. ASUU has already wasted two years of my life I'll never get back.

I am still finding alternatives, but Good luck to those of you still awaiting a decision. I pray that you will receive a positive answer ijn.

Good morning,

Bro you can try again in few months, refusal doesn't mean the visa is not for you, you try again.

Pof- $11,000 in my bank account (from savings)

[b]Actually 11k usd from naija may not be a really good statement. Did you submit naira bank statement as well. Like if you work and earn in naira, you prolly need both bank statement.

Like your job profile should be very confusing.

Sources of funds (contracts with my clients) (doesn't sound like a permanent job ) . Seems like consultant or something, I might be wrong tho. Are you self employed?

Are you married? kids? If you work in a company and you submit statement showing salaries and appointment letters. How long have you been working with the company?

Those are what I would check to be sure you will leave the country....

[b]The place where they ask how much fund you have for your stay in Canada. How much did you put there?

To approve your application, I would check your Marital status and your Job (income daily inflow and job information) and family back home.

In my case I never want to put married when I am not, so I proof my relationship, submitting proofs and wrote letters that I have a relationship for 7yrs, even call her fiancé lol. And that we are planning on having beautiful kids and also get married soon lol. ( that also a way to convince that I be coming back lol). Plus during my visit I will be doing shopping for our wedding, If you single o lol .

I know some people are lucky and some are just gonna try it again.

It is well bro. try again next time, dont give up on it. U dont wanna know my story lol.

Thanks for your response. I don't earn in naira. All my earnings comes in dollars and I make about 3-4 figures monthly. I am a freelancer, and I detailed information about my work, as well as provided contracts with the companies I worked with.

I am not married, neither am I in a relationship, and I don't think that's a crime or a good reason for my application to be denied.

I placed that figure in my bank account. I do travel regularly so I let them know that I would spend a lot.

Thanks for your suggestion but I don't think I will try Canada again. The country keeps disrespecting Nigerians in particular, and I honestly don't see them as worth my time or money again. Their country is not heaven. I will try my luck elsewhere

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by chatmate: 10:20am On Jun 05
It is well.

So people with USD statement are denied visa. They applying from or with Nigerian passport. And submitted USD bank statement as proof of fund.

Now I would not make that same mistake. I would submit USD as my savings and normal naira statement as my day to day inflow coming from my job or business. I do not spend USD in naira daily. They wanna see that too.

I know someone that got his visa, with his bank statement incomes and all that, plus USD savings bank statement.

If you put in that form that you want to spend 4 to 5k for your trip to Canada The consular would not grant visa with 11k usd statement. I would believe you spending half of your income on one trip. And no other source of income. Looking at hotel reservation of lets say 1500usd or so for your trip. I don't want to know if you are fucking rich or you applying with the intention of visiting only. You fit still enter chop asylum lol.

What you filled in and your documents are what decision is based on.

Half of your savings for one vacation doesn't seems you will return.

To THOUSAND OF DOLLARS STATEMENT. NO NAIRA ONLY SAVINGS. good for study visa sha.

Some pple get money for naija that they spend in usd. However, if i were the consular I might just believe you put that to convince me. I need to see recent incomes pay slip, and your withdraws activities for your daily spending in naira in Nigeria. Where do you cash or exchange the USD into to spend for your other bills.

I fit de over think, please no abuse me lol. I get small experience too lol.

AND I READ TO UNDERSTAND WITHOUT EMOTIONS.

My naira account was also in the same pdf I sent them. I spend in naira so of course that's not the only statement I attached. Pls Stop trying to defend country that is clearly finding anything tangible to issue refusal. They obviously don't want people from our side again.

And I didn't share my Timeline to be receiving correction based on what I did or didn't do wrong. I shared it for those still awaiting a decision. I have been following immigration news for years and I know when a particular route is close to or nearly impossible. If you like climb mountains to submit a perfect application, they will still deny as they wish. And dem no send Nigerians or whatever economic problems or useless leaders we have.

I'm not discouraging anyone that still wants to apply. Pls go ahead and apply, as for me I don wash hand commot for everything Canada about a month ago. When millions of people are trying to move to the same place, things like this are bound to happen so I'm not discouraged.
