The cc company don tire for me…. They’ve been sending me ads and offering me low interest rates so as to split my payments

Excellent Nwanne

Keep the number of open accounts low, the offers won’t stop coming because your rating don high.

Me, I always use worst case scenario to keep my discipline. The temptation is there but I always remind myself, if something happens, can I comfortable manage my accounts before I get back on my feet?

The word is discipline, just as Dayo has also stated. Avoid Ibime when him dey the mood wen him dey now. Lol..

Continue to reach out and research before jumping into anything because at the end, na your money and the consequences good or bad, na your head.

Na underemployed govt worker NLC want to pay 400k? Did we not all do NYSC? How many civil servants do anything more than show up on last Friday of the month?
Gbam!

65k - 70k is okay for minimum wage, even for the most hardworking entry-level civil servants. Also, the national minimum wage law may be amended in a way that it would apply only to the federal and state governments, and corporations.

If this is done, u will be surprised that most private businesses/companies will start paying their staff ridiculous amounts as salaries .

Also if private companies/businesses are excluded from the new minimum wage, it will have no effect on businesses and the economy at large . Workers will continue to groan under hardship .

One of the unwritten rules of the Nigerian university system is : Never challenge a lecturer openly in a public settings. It is not written in any law book but u must learn it or 4ck around and find out .

No matter how intelligent or brilliant u may think u are or how dumb u think the lecturer’s opinion is or how grand ur opinion is; U just aren’t expected to openly challenge him in the full glare of the public . U can go and argue with lecturer in the privacy of his office , spend hours debating and disagreeing with him.

When I faced panel in my final year, it was for something I didnt even do. I was sure my HoD was waiting for an excuse in that final year to deal with me because I show the man pepper when I was the President of the student association.

Small protest that student did because they wanted to start no school fees no test, I joined the protest in solidarity. I wasn't even in the front or do anything, I was just at one corner observing but because my HoD saw me while trying to maintain peace I was called the mastermind of all the whole thing. Infact before the end of that day, the news has gone round the town and the other 5 campuses that former accounting student President organized protest and wanted to beat the HoD. Our HoD infact told me I will not graduate with my set.

We were over 100 that protested, but na me and 5 friends name that they pasted on the school board for exam malpractice and school disturbance. They didnt even know one of my friend name, they wrote his description from head to toe. It was almost a week later they I heard that it was about classmates that we were protesting together that gave them my friends name.

The next 3 month we were facing and panel, begging lecturers and my HoD everywhere, prostrating on the road, going to our main campus to defend ourselves from being expelled and the likes.

Thankfully all the begging worked and our HoD wrote a letter to the school disciplinary committee exonerating me and my friends. That's what saved us from expulsion.

It is official. The FG pegs EOY subsidy payments at N5.4T.
drive.google.com/file/d/1POFpgrj5Y9n60VKCFQXvF5bc3GRqC4wY
To put that in perspective, it was N2T in 2022. And N3.6T in 2023.
In naira terms there's been an increase. In $ terms however, there's been a significant crash.

Heineken and Tinubu should commit to a new subsidy regime where payments do not ever exceed $5B and preferably stay below $3B.
That should be the ceiling.
One way to go about this is to introduce quarterly reviews of the price at the pumps.

They should not let the problem metastasize to the point where another kneejerk "subsidy removal" is floated again.
Get Nigerians used to the reality that with fluctuating exchange rate, cost of gasoline on the international market, and double-digit inflation rate; we cannot have a fixed price for an entire calendar year or longer.
It is imperative that they increase the gasoline price to between 900-950 after the minimum wage increase.

Gasoline price is critical to the health of the economy. We either manage it carefully or in 4 years payments will balloon to N20T+ and we'll start rummaging for the courage to remove subsidy again.
They've mentioned a subsidy sunset plan, but it's light on details. As usual! /s

BTW, Tinubu handicapped his administration with the appointment of Edun and Cardoso.

In the policy that Wale Edun submitted to Tinubu 2 days ago, we are going to pay 5 trillion in subsidy this year due to exchange rate.

Thoughts Egbon raumdeuter

It becomes obvious day and months after that removing fuel subsidy on the first day of his administration is a fatal error. Combine with the full exchange rate floating and here we are.

U are lucky the man came through for you eventually. Public University lecturers know the kind of power they wield over a student's future and they always use that power ruthlessly over any student they believe to be challenging them.

I was close to lecturers in my later years in school and I see them using that power to its full strength. I saw lecturers handing over "discipline "of students to fellow lecturers in other courses. Omo even if u be Albert Einstein , dem go find way use ur meat rub ground.

i no go lie o - we thank God for your survival

in my final year some stupid students attacked one strong head anti cheating lecturer with acid.
The fallout: that year everyone caught in exam malpractice was expelled.

people who had lecturers as parents were expelled - people with relatives in the system were expelled - that is how vicious the response was

at least 10 guys from my set were expelled that year. one connected dude even got a job while awaiting his final result only to hear he had been expelled
