Multi choice is doing all these nonsense because there's no alternative. If not for live football games,I won't be spending 15700 for compact package monthly..

We want Pay As You Watch. Let's buy in hours.

How can I recharge DStv and travel for official assignment for 3 weeks only to come back to discover after a week that my subscription is not valid anymore?

One of their reps called me and was trying to toast me back to Dstv. I told him when standard of living improves and there is no serious competitor I will reconsider .
How can I be paying almost 30k per month for tv I barely watch ? Thats 360k per year . It is ridiculous .

PS- I don’t think it is the place of the court to prevent private companies from setting their prices even if it is predatory. It is anti capitalist

But come to think of it, is it that difficult for Nigerians to boycott DSTV?
Are you people umbilical cord tied to DSTV, or you will die if you don't watch DSTV?

I think it's just classism worrying a lot of nigerians, yet una no wan pay the high price.

So if DSTV obeys the order, and you were on lowest package, they should give you access to highest package free?.

It's normal to assume the free access you will have is on whatsoever package you are on.

I find this grossly unfair. The is a private business and customers who cannot afford the subscription are free to downgrade or leave.

Premier league and other TV rights are very expensive. Nigerian TV companies don’t have these rights because they can’t afford to pay. If you doubt this, go and ask the late HiTV
Oga stop being docile! Consumers have rights! For DSTV to have rights to air the premier league, champions league etc, they beat other tv stations to get the rights meaning only them can air it in about an entire region. They cannot hold is ransom like that! They should let go of their hosting rights so that some other companies that can cope can carry on!

No smoke without fire. I hope they're not about to chase Multichoice out of the country with their bad policies. There's virtually no product in this country right now where the price hasn't skyrocketed or tripled the price before this administration. I find this a xenophobic attack on SA

There is nothing like xenophobia here.

We have alot of profitable SA companies operating in Nigeria without let or hindrance. I'm not sure that SA will extend the same courtesy to Nigerian companies if this were reversed

Exactly. They don't have a competitor. I spend 9300 just because I want to watch CNN. If there is a good competitor,or won't be like this

We are being cheated a lot

First sensible comment.
Good one.

Private business for that matter.
What is it that has not more than doubled in price for the past 365 days.
Why is PHCN increasing tariff on darkness, for instance?

Absurd...

if they chase multi choice out of Nigeria it can only give rise to a multi indigenous or new reasonable pay tv provider
Dstv toxicity outweighs whatever they have to offer, a competitive market is what foster true economic growth
Good riddance to there rubbish
