I was surprised 😯 when I kept seeing 8 points instead of 6 points should we beat Benin. Baba sha want change winning points because of us 😎

Beating Benin gives is 5pts? smiley

You don't need to rely on anybody's result at this point. Just play to win.

I expect the match against Benin to be very stop-start as per Rohr na mujahideen football advocate
Rohr will play defensive and hit on counters but we will beat them. I don't see anything special about Benin.

If you can make time to rewatch that match. Then you can compare. I know bashiru scored but his overall work is where am talking about. If u observe the way Alhassan plays, he drives forward a lot. His passes show the intents. All I sha know is we need to get it right in the middle of the park for us to have hopes of winning matches.... otherwise it's gonna be huff and puff
They're different players entirely. I hope Fisayo is fit for next match so we can study him better

These coaches really do thier homework. When Chuks came in, they knew just what to do. Two to three players on him anticipating his cutbacks.
but e for sweet if that he shot enter.. He is an x-factor (and I mean he brings a different dynamics).

Nobody is talking about Lookman. He was beastly only that he didn't score.

joelsteron:
Chukwueze is good. Just use him at 2nd half. Please can Onyedika and Ndidi play at the same time? Because I doubt FINIDI will move the latter to central defense

There's nothing special about Benin quite alright. It's going to be a physical affair, I expect Rohr to cede possession.

We'd just need to be unpredictable

We have 7 games left, with 21 points to play for. Our chances of qualification is well within our grasp because our group has no outstanding team that can rack up points consistently. Doesn’t matter if we’re currently 5th with 3pts, we are just 2pts off the 1st place (Lesotho). We should get better in coming games (by taking the positives from today’s game) and try to win 5 of our 7 games left (15pts + our current 3pts = 18pts). With 18pts we should easily top our qualifying group. It’s now up to Finidi to set up the best team to pick our first win vs Benin on Monday. If we get that win, I expect a smooth ride to WC26💯🤗.

Rohr doesn't have the kind of players to pull off the stunt on the Super Eagles.
Highest they can do is defend and hit on counters or Play long balls.
Even he himself(Rohr) knows he can't win against the caliber of players SE possesses, best bet for him is to defend to earn 1point.
Expect a draw or a win from Nigeria. Either 0-0, 1-0, or 2-0.

I thought Ndidi at CB was a better option than when he was in the midfield. It allowed us more progressive passing from the back.

Nice work from Dele. Took the initiative with the goal.

Nwabali's performance went under the radar, he was solid. We now have a reliable goal keeper at last.

I saw it as well. He came off his line well, made saves when needed and was calm on the ball.

His distribution isn’t the best but I’d rather my keeper make saves first and foremost

If Ndidi our captain or any of the player protested that penalty of Dele Bashiru like I did, maybe we'd have gotten a penalty.

I expect them to mob the referee and get that Pen. Southy will not let such juicy offer let go.

Inside our stadium again, we no fit protest...

Good game. Best game I've seen in many years.

Chai, Chukwueze should score that goal.
Onuachu, no point for "talling" if you gonna nod like that. Kuku short.

Smooth ride ke,with 3 draws u are still yet to realize there won't be any easy game in this group.
By the time they come back with one point on Monday, then u will understand.
They have to find a way to win on Monday if they r serious about qualifying

Good one, but I don't think Iwobi and Dele should play at the same time. ONYEDIKA is fine where he is though.

I think you could actually move Dele to a RF role similar to Lookman on the other wing. Have Iwobi just in front of Yusuf and Onyedika. You get a lot of midfield control that way. Lookman, Dele and the strikers would need to shoot sha

Finidi George on Victor Boniface;

"Allow us to do our jobs."

"We wanted to introduce Boniface and Moffi, but Semi had a knock and we had to take him off and introduce Moffi and Onyedika.

"The fans and media would shout for different players, if they don't perform well, the shout will be, take him off. Allow us to do our jobs."

Us Winning the Next game depends on One Thing: FINIDI GEORGE.
If he could look himself on the mirror and access the quality of each Player today based on their performance will be a path to the right direction.
A Training pitch performance is different from a Match pitch performance.
A player might be awesome during training but when the time to reciprocate on the field of play, he go numb.
Secondly, it's an unforgivable sin for a player to miss one-on-one sitter with a keeper(especially a professional no 9 striker.) Such a player should be made to sit out on the bench for a lengthy period or dismissed from the team. It's catastrophic to keep repeating the same mistake each time and never willing to improve. Is he afraid of Injury? Trying not to be involved in a tackle would have atleast gotten us a penalty.
But In all, SA should count themselves lucky to have escaped with a Draw but I can tell you for free that Benin will lose in their next game against us. There's no magic different from what Rohr has performed with the super eagles. Best bet they can go with is a Draw but I predict Win for us(either 1-0 or 2-0) and I'm ready to Bet with anyone who thinks otherwise.

The NFF are the ones meant to provide the facilities and infrastructure for VAR and insist on VAR..

It is the incompetence of the NFF that there was no VAR in this match.

So it will be foolish of the NFF to file a petition just to hide their incompetency.
tell me one match that have used VAR in this qualifying series 🤦🏿

I don't believe a player can be prime Ronaldinho in training and then Puncheon in the match.

Finidi needs to sort his selection out and stop looking at names.

He should come up with a playing template and select the best for each role.

"Allow you do your job" has cost you a win in your first real official match. This mentality will not take him far in SE.

You dumped a very top player in Boniface that is ability is not in doubt on the bench and started a Onuachu that fans have never liked his football with SE and you have the temerity to tell fans to Allow you do your job. Nigeria coaches and that statement is like 5 and 6.

You started kelechi that is terribly off form...I can't remember if Kelechi has played upto 4 matches this year 2024 with Leicester City.

You took Tanimunu to play central defence, and Bassey to play left back so as to please your bosses that want to sell players and when it boomerang on you, you switched Tanminu ro right back, Osayi to left back and turned SA to prime Brazil in the first half.

Finidi is not the manager that will qualify SE to the world cup. Directionless NFF should relive him now before it's too late...too many elementary decision making in playing selection and formation.

I predicted maximum 2 point in the two matches because of all what I have seen and observe from the end of Afcon mid February to the 30th of April 2024.

SE will not beat Benin with Finidi in charge...he does not have it all...too inexperienced. He is already cracking.
