Samu chukwueze is still very important in this super eagles team

Bobo troubled SA defense when he was subbed in

Nwabali's performance went under the radar, he was solid. We now have a reliable goal keeper at last.
He's ever so calm like Courtois and Neuer. He's never flustered

What would you say about the tame header?

However I agree with you. For Onuachu to thrive the wings must be well oiled for low crosses/cutbacks. The right wing had Iheanacho and Tanimu, square pegs in round holes.

There was not enough pace on the cross. Even Ororo isn't scoring from there. Taminu was great defensively btw

We are not missing Peseiro at all

Well, we have the chance to top our group on Monday. let's just win Benin CONVINCINGLY because the whole thing might go down to GD at the end of the day.

The most shocking thing I read here yesterday was some peeps mentioning Jose Peseiro. Like was he not the one who drew the first two matches? I dey ask abeg Matches we ought to have won on a normal day. Baba denied us an AFCON trophy by listing almost 5 injured players in that final match when capable and fresh replacements are on the bench.

All of you shouting we will beat Benin are sounding buffoonish. Ordinary Lesotho at home, you cannot beat. Zimbabwe, you struggled to salvage a point and you want to beat benin. Wake up and smell the coffee. We are on the verge of not qualifying for the mundial for the second time in a row. Rubbish

I just saw that Moffi miss from a highlight.

How could he miss such chance for God sake.
What else does he want?? On his left foot again. Abeg that guy no be striker. Even Onuachu go score that goal.

Onuachu
Dessers
Sodiq
Moffi.

These four no follow.

We don't have good backups to Osimhen. It looks like we do but we actually don't.

Onuachu had a good game for someone without service. If he had missed opportunities like the one Moffi did I would understand the complaints

Onuachu that went to EPL and flopped. As tall and huge as he is, SA were getting the better of him repeatedly. I repeat, if Onuachu was there he won't position himself to receive the ball Moffi received.

Iheanachio that Leicester most times don't even name in their starting lineup becoming a starter yesterday was like a dream to me.

No matter how anybody wants to turn and twist any English or huffs and puffs grammar, Victor Osimhen is the lifeline of our Super Eagles team.
There are other good strikers, but how many of them are performing exceptionally in his absence. He's still the only world-class number 9 that we have whether you like it or not.

Three world cup qualifiers without Osimhen, 1 all draws, we lost the first half in all of them;
First game 🆚 Lesotho a defender equalized - Ajayi 67'
Second game 🆚 Zimbabwe a striker equalized - Iheanacho 67'
Third game 🆚 South Africa a midfielder equalized - Bashiru 47'

Only one striker scored in three games!
That tame header that Onuachu gifted Williams, Osimhen's headers goes almost with the same force as his legs! I remember that Angola game, where the keeper pointed the ball but it still forced its way into the net, a header!

Even if he doesn't score, he must pave the way for others to score. I think since he became our top 9, the Super Eagles have only lost two games he played in (I stand to be corrected)
0–1 🆚 Guinea-Bissau (2023)
2–1 🆚 Ivory Coast (2024)
That guy's mentality alone can start while he sits on the bench.

Over all;
Our team is good, Finidi George is still under scrutiny, we will still qualify for the World Cup (95%)

Dropped points again but from people's opinions and the match highlights seems we could have nicked a win with a little bit of good fortune.

Well there's good news and bad news. For the bad we're 5th on the log and have a pathetic 3 points from 3 games. For the positive we're only 2 points off the top of the log and our destiny is still in our hands but the margins for error or dropping more than points are getting slimmer.

Negatives of the game I noticed from the highlights defense was always stretched once the southies got the ball to the wide areas. Bassey and Seyi were asleep for that goal. Wasted too many chances. Onuachu half chance header, Chukwueze unluckily hitting the bar while Osayi and Moffi should have done better with their opportunities. Boniface should probably have started for a stubborn and resilient side like SA you need a more dynamic forward. Have nothing against Paul but he's too one dimensional as a striker.

For positives midfield passes looked slicker and sharper. Our attacking players were receiving balls in good areas allowing them to progress and cause problems to the opposition. Great full debut goal for Fisayo. Hope his injury is not too serious. Still work to be but I think they are positives to work with.

As for WC qualification we're not in a pleasant spot but let's stop feeling sorry for ourselves and roll our sleeves up to get out of this situation.

SUPER EAGLES ALL THE WAY.

Rubbish - 😔 all action midfielder.

He is too poor to be in the SE , he is simply a water 💦 carrier that huffs and puffs but doesn't blow any House 🏠 down.

No inventive and creativity in his game AT ALL plus very very limited sorry 😐 no skill.

Tell me how many goals he has scored in his entire professional career please 🙏🏿 ❓ 74 games in Belgium league 3 goals 🥅 CHEI.

You are trailing in the game you need goals and you don't bring on a player like Onyedika who can battle in midfield has aerial dominance and can drive the team forward.

After this one good point , the doubters now knows what the fuss plus fuss is about Fisayo he is a baller. Right from his Manchester city days.

How many goals did Mikel score in Chelsea yet he was a pillar for us. Free Yusuf. He's good for us. Go and worry about waste men like Onuachu and leave Yusuf alone. Look at how he pinged that ball for Chukwueze. For him to spot that run and lay that kind of accurate technical pass shows there's a deep reservoir of football intelligence in Yusuf.

And he's always looking at progressing the ball.

He's good for SE. We go manage am.

Getting the better of Onuachu so much he kept on drawing fouls on them and even drew 2 yellow cards. Make it make sense. Then he was involved in our only goal of the day.

FIFA and CAF organise WCQ so the provision of VAR falls on them.

codemaniacs:

The NFF are the ones meant to provide the facilities and infrastructure for VAR and insist on VAR..

It is the incompetence of the NFF that there was no VAR in this match.

So it will be foolish of the NFF to file a petition just to hide their incompetency.

During the AFCON, one of our attackers I think it was Lookman tried the same thing with William, he nipped the ball off him. Moffi tried the same thing. By now they should know that the GK is good with such one on one situations.

like i still dont see why that onuachu of a guy is spearheading our attack when Osimhen is absent…he is not anywhere close to Osimhen ruggedness…Moffi/Boniface in 80 mins would have made impact…i remember in afcon when Moffi was brought in die min vs SA, he made a particular 1 on 1 run at goal but was hacked down by SA defense…our coaches! i dont know what dey see in that guy in SE.
even inthe case of killing time when we are leading, i still would not prefer onuachu…cos if he was brought in to kill time and we fortunately got a counter to double our lead, onuachu would still not be able cos he’s too slow in d GWG colors
