What defect or lacuna will it cure? Is Nigeria a country that values figures and statistics?

That should be our starting point. Otherwise, this will be another value to waste public funds.
The timeline for making the whole results publicly available as fast as possible..

..

Nobody can tell us (up till this very moment) the reasons why the RIVERS STATE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION ON THE IREV-PORTAL was totally different from what the INEC announced..
The major reason being that,, INEC still hoarded the results up till this very moment.

The main aim of this new Legislation is to make the INEC to be compulsorily compelled (through another independent body) to have no other options left for them, other than to bare the whole results to this independent body, who now has the obligation to analyse the data and release same to the general public and to the whole world.

When you tell cl*wns who have not travelled before, they will think it's not possible!

BluntCrazeMan:
Very Straight Forward..

In Norway, after elections, the Country’s Statistical Board is supposed to run consistency tests on the results within ONE WEEK..

So, it happened that last year,, an election in Norway was cancelled within ONE WEEK, and it was rescheduled..
The Country’s statistical board passed the whole data concerning the election through their algorithms for testing the consistency of election results,, and they found some really huge inconsistencies which would have affected the outcome of the results if they were not there..

And that was it.!!

JUST ONE WEEK.!!

..

In Nigeria, Eleven Months will just pass in the courts, and nothing good would still come out of it.

Yes..

They trust their electoral processes so well,, that's why they do DIRECT DEMOCRACY,, where the people always vote for whatever they want to become laws for them..

They don't do the Nigerian Representative Democracy..

The National Assembly should amend the Section-62-(subsection-2) of the Electoral-Act in such a way that the INEC should be mandated -- to within a SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME after the announcement of the results (Say; 2-weeks) -- publish on their website; ALL the Election Accreditation Data including the summarized final results, together with all the lower-level collated results and the various results of the various Polling-units -- for each of the elections that are concluded by the INEC.
(The Election Accreditation Data which are published on the website should come with all the possible categorizations and demographics fully represented).

..

The Electoral-Act should also be amended in such a way to mandate the INEC -- to within a SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME after the announcement of the results (Say; 2-weeks) -- Formally/Officially send ALL the Election Accreditation Data including the summarized final results to the office of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) for statistical documentation purposes.
The NBS (after receiving the set of data from the INEC) should be mandated by the Electoral-Act to run series of necessary independent consistency-tests on the whole set of data received (without any further compulsory input from the INEC during the period of the consistency-tests) before making the data public on their platforms; from where independent researchers can have access to the election data.

The maximum timeline for the election data to be made public by the NBS (including the publishing of the comprehensive reports which showed all the methodologies and the full results of all the consistency-tests which they conducted on the election results) should also be specified inside the Electoral-Act.. (Say; 3-weeks).

(The Election Accreditation Data that is sent to the NBS by the INEC should have all the possible categorizations and demographics fully represented in it)

The Electoral-Act should also indicate what would happen to the sets of data that were sent to the NBS, should in case the dataset fails the mandatory consistency-tests that would be conducted by the NBS.

INEC is the most vseless organization in Nigeria.

Godwin Emefiele, Hadi Sirika, and Mahmud Yakubu should all be in jail for commiting the biggest fraud in Nigeria.

Why only Emefiele is in jail baffles me?
Godwin Emiefile's case is a witch hunt by the present Administration his guilty because he was taking orders from his Boss PMB

South-Africa used all those things INEC were promising.
Now, the whole world is praising South-Africa.

The truth is that they implemented the Ideas of the Nigerian INEC.
But we cannot openly say that they copied Nigeria..,, because the chances which INEC had to implement its bright ideas, they went and did something else..

Then, Yakubu knew what we would have done afterwards (when he discovered that he had been played at the lower-levels of collation)..
But he didn't do it.

That means,, Yakubu knew what he was doing.
