Onuachu should start in the next match. It's not like he missed any clear chance. The half chance he headed to the hands of the SA goalkeeper. He was OK. Except the midfielders who came in to influence the game , I didn't see Moffi do much better.
Onuachu is big but not strong. It was very annoying to see him losing duels to SA defenders.

I'd rather have a strong and quick striker against Benin. Penalty go full their body

How do you even call that a miss?
Did Moffi kick the ball?

He wanted to round up the keeper..

I wonder why they are bashing him

I keep forgeting Awoniyi. We have strikers to stand in for Osimhen. And they will deliver given the time Onuachu got.
why the delay in calling up Adebayo?

Ndidi's early days in the SE were his best period till date.

I remember his strong performance vs Cameroun in Uyo back in 2017. Excellently solid he was.

And he was brilliant too vs Iceland at the 2018 WC. Against Argentina too, Ndidi did very well although we lost.

Against Brazil in 2019, he was excellent as well.

Truly he has regressed but let us not allow recency bias make us forget how wonderfully solid Ndidi was for us in his early SE days.

ChrisKels:
Since Ndidi made his eagles debut, I can't pick one game where he was excellent for us.

Okay lets forget that header miss. What did Onuachu add attacking wise? Any individual runs or goal threat? It's not like they didn't put several looping passes to him. Dude cannot run.. Does not suit our game style.

Lookman for example did not score, but took quite a number of shots that were blocked (kudos to the SA technical staff who also did their job here). The one he missed from a sexy (in Amokachi's voice) Onyedika pass, he probably would have laid it for Iwobi who was open.

Or did you mean his action part on the pitch?
if I remember him in the first half he was always looking to linking up quickly. Doing swift turns and runs..
if you have much of the first half video, you probably can do one..

How about Tinumu. I remember him more for his sideways runs, not really doing much going forward or in forward areas. Had a couple great clearance though.

With the way Iwobi is playing now (as a playmaker) I only see Kelechi Nwakali as a potential back up. The latter is a better shooter though.

Problem with Nigerian coaches is, they like playing players out of position and they prefer physical point man (tall and big).

Messi, Aguero and short players will never make first team of a Nigerian coach. I have studied them enough. I may be wrong ooo.
Messi and Aguero are exceptional players, both taller than Chukwueze and Moses Simon who is just an average player, yet selected by Nigerian coaches.

But me as Nigerian coach,
I won't be looking out for short players unless they are above average or exceptional,
because we are not known as people of short races,
unlike countries like China,or in Argentina which u would not be taken serious if u are tall

Look man played above average but he is selfish and seeking personal glory than team victory .
