If na joke stop it, that bill will not come to light. There’s no state creation agitation in Anambra. Imo and Abia can go on and create the state. Anambra is not part of the state creation .

If Anambra south want to join Orlu people then goodbye to them.

Many church parishes in Anambra South are in Orlu Diocese.
Most of Anambra south senatorial district have had traditional and political ties to Orlu, they also have lgbo accents closer to Orsu in Orlu senatorial district, than Onitsha or Awka accents.
In 2006 when this same proposed state was about to be created during the Obasanjo govt National Political Reforms Conference, leaders of Anambra south senatorial zone, including then serving gov of Anambra State and one former military gov of Anambra State, all came together with leaders of the 12 local government areas of Orlu senatorial zone and requested for this same proposed state called Njaba then.

From more reports released after their session in the House of Reps, the representatives from Anambra south actually supported the bill. It seems proper consultations were done before the bill was passed.

Speak to your representatives to ensure the bill fails second reading. From the look of things, your representatives are in support of the bill.

Most of Ebonyi state came through division of Enugu State.
Now you want them to divide Enugu State again to get Adada state. Those from Imo and Anambra States who were agitating for Orlu/Njaba state before Ebonyi state was created, don't they have equal rights with people in the former Enugu State? Be considerate.

Did Igbos in Kogi and Benue States tell you they want to leave?

Proposed Orlu/Njaba state has the largest natural gas reserves in Nigeria and has been an oil producing area since the 1970s. Ohaji-Egbema LGA is in Orlu senatorial district.
University? There are two universities in the area of Orlu zone. If you add the university at Uli in Anambra South, that's three universities.

The whole orlu zone is less than uzo-uwani and Nsukka LGA in size and in population. Let it be known to you that the state I proposed is more than owerri and orlu zones combined together if not the whole of imo state.

In addition, it will unite all northern igbos (kogi and benue) in one state.

After this, we will go for western igbos that will include all anioma , ndoni and ogba people to be united in one state.

Regards.

Orlu should develop in Imo State.

Owerri zone is already developed at the expense of Orlu zone, through education institutions and government parastatals in Owerri zone.
Owerri never left anything for Orlu to develop with, as Owerri cornered all the six federal and state tertiary education institutions and establishments for Imo state, and located all in Owerri zone during the military era.

When Imo state was cut off from old East Central State, people of present Anambra and Enugu states that were left in Anambra State then knew that Imo state would have all the oil producing areas; but people of Enugu and Anambra States never objected to cutting out Imo state from them. Today, how much better is Imo state compared to Anambra and Enugu states?

The federal government knew about the presence of these submarine cables in that region, so in conclusion, the government intentionally demolished the Landmark resort, the same way they have been demolishing Igbo properties and businesses in Lagos, Abuja and the northern state without compensation. Do not support or be deceived by this government, invest wisely.

The news is self explanatory na. Why do you need me to explain further? I have told you the importance of that road and why I supported it's construction but seeing that the road construction has now been stopped, to be honest and fair, Dave Umahi is a bloody fool.

I can't believe that in order to impress the Tinubu government, Umahi first approved a change from the initial plan without proper study of the terrain. If they had done their study well, they would have discovered that building that road would affect the underwater internet cable and they wouldn't have started the demolition of people's businesses but, the fool of a minister was in a hurry to impress his lord and personal saviour by first demolishing people's businesses. I'm just disappointed in that idiot.
Don't blame Dave Umahi, they have used him as Minister of Works to get what they want so that the Igbos will blame him, but the truth is that he never planned that demolition.

Wow. The same Dave Umahi who arrogantly defended the new plan for the road and also defended the demolitions? Sometimes we as Ndigbo should learn to take responsibility when we do nonsense instead of blaming every other person but ourselves. See how you are trying to exclude Umahi from the collosal mistake he ordered and supervised.

Is Nnewi going to be part of this Orlu state because that will be a massive disaster for Anambra. If that bill passes 2nd reading, then Orlu state is sure deal because it will definitely scale through 3rd reading and with the support the bill has gotten from the representatives of Anambra, Imo and Abia, I really don't see what will stop the bill except representatives from other geopolitical zones vote against it.

Nnewi South LGA is part of Orlu state. People of Orsuumuoghu and some other communities in Nnewi South LGA are kit and kin to people of Orsu in Orlu senatorial district. No natural boundaries separate them. They speak the same Igbo dialect.

This is a wonderful initiative to address the issue of street trading and help petty traders secure a decent venue without the burden of rent, which often forces them to trade on the streets. It would be fantastic if ACTDA could organize all street traders in Awka into a formal group and help them acquire land along key roads to build these Solution Arenas in various parts of the city.

In other cities like Onitsha, Nnewi, Ekwulobia, and Aguleri, the state government should allow ACTDA to work with the local governments to organize street traders and build similar Solution Arenas in those cities. If we can eliminate street trading and shanties, our cities will start to look modern and livable, as promised by Soludo.

Yeah u are right?

They need to be organised into a union.

Each venue union will have list of people utilising the facilities and organise themselves.

I hope they built a decent toilet even if they have to pay to access and use it.

That money will be used to pay the toilet cleaners and maintenace to ensure it is in top form.

Waste bin near-by for the waste, so they do not litter and they must sweep at the end of the trade.

ADDITIONAL STATE IN ANY SHAPE FOR SOUTH EAST IS ACCEPTABLE
I can read some ignorant and insatiable Igbo people say they don't want Orlu State.
Tomorrow these same stupid people will say Nigeria is marginalising the Igbo.
I remember Buhari challenging Ndigbo to agree and bring the name of ONE STATE and he will put in motion its creation but Ndigbo COULD NOT AGREE on one state. Ndi Ara !!!. It has started again, NDI ARA are saying Ozubulu and Okija will not be part of Orlu State. Now tell me, what has Ihiala and Ekwusigo LGAs gained from Anambra State? Ihiala LGA is overlooked as a fringe LGA.
Please Ndigbo that are wise should SUPPORT this great move that our grammar speaking Igbo elites and Politicians couldn't initiate. Let us leave off the foolish wailers.
Finally, I do not care where additional state is created or the name so long as South East is given an extra state.

Brilliant. I hope more people here can reason without adding too much emotions because I can't believe how a normal human being who calls himself an Igbo man will reject this great opportunity for the East to get a 6th state.

Your comment is focused more in dividing Anambra than importance of creating new state. You ended up giving no good reason driving the motion instead you are creating sentiment that Ihiala and Ekwusigo are being marginalized in their own land... Point of current; No Anambrarian is being marginalized. We are unique. Ihiala, Ozubulu, etc are as important as Awka, Aguleri,.. Atleast ANSG has never in any administration focus only on the state capital like we see in other states... Even if any part of Anambra leave today, they hv thousand and one government signature project to develop with. So correct ur ignorant now.

I don't even know what it is with Igbos and victim card (marginalization) it's obvious the new state bill was birthed out of victimisation. The sponsor "IkengaUgochinyere" has been in a very loud war with his state governor of Imo state. ... So I am not surprise when your defense speaks only marginalization. Anambra does not discriminate against it's own except for ones suffering from inferiority complex.

Wheather a new state is created, making Anambra the smallest state by landmark or not, the eagle will always soar. I still insist u delete that awkward comment because ur town is not more important than Ihiala, Ozubulu, or Orumba. Below is one of the roads recently started/complicated by CC Soludo connecting Orumba direct to Awka. We can go on and on.

My support for creation of EXTRA STATE from ANY part of Igboland is more about more resources from the federal government and development for Igboland as it will one way or the other trickle down to those parts of Igboland not affected.
If Orlu or Njaba whatever name it is called is created and Ihiala LGA is part of it, do you know that the skeletal remains of the Ojukwu University Uli can become a full fledged federal or state university and the development in all that axis will be phenomenal. This is my angle of argument ....development! development!!. Coming to Anambra state govenment, go to Nanka, Ekwulobia and Old Aguata and see where the resources of Anambra is concentrated. Please point to me the road constructed by Anambra state in Ihiala LGA since Soludo came. May be I am in a hurry, probably next phase of road construction may benefit some communities in Ihiala but we are yet to see the sign.
Finally let no one be against this very nice move which I fear may be thwarted by same Ndigbo because the initiator is not of APC or in good terms with Uzodimma. Nkea bu Nke Anyi nile.
