Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Debbieeeeeee: 12:54pm On Jun 09 |
Villa12:I didn’t disclose the exact reason to them I just told them personal reasons. Reason was I had a baby close to the resumption date and I got the admission the previous year, I didn’t want to adjust status in the usa so I decided to allow time to figure things out and take it up the next year. It was very easy and it was done via email, I got an update admission letter and paid my seat deposit thereafter for my I-20 a few months later. Deferring your admission is not hard at least it wasn’t for me. An email sorted it out. But I did this after fall session had resumed. 1 Like |

Hello guys. I just got my I20 and I'm supposed to resume this August, what do you think about going to maybe Cameroon or Benin Republic to do my visa interview as they are no available appointment dates here in Abuja. Thanks 1 Like |

DanteSilva: Hey 🤠 @DanteSilva. If you like go to Papua New Guinea for your visa appointment. The moment your nationality says Nigeria, then same policies will follow you. 1. Another disadvantage is that the USA consular would think that you are Forum Shopping which means that you want to use the 3rd country to improve your VISA chances. 2. Try change back to Lagos or is this your 2nd attempt in which you are supposed to wait for a specific period of time ? 3. You may join that group as @Debbieeeeeeee have suggested. Don't go outside Nigeria. Best Wishes 🙏 |

Speaking from personal experience from a while back -- I deferred my admission to my masters program without a need for my I20. When I was offered admission, I had three options. One was to accept the offer, decline the offer, or defer. I checked defer and my admission offer was updated. They did not request a reason for my deferment and I did not provide any. Very easy process. All of this happened at the level of the department. It did not involve the graduate school or the international student office. If you are still unsure about the deferment process, email your graduate director or graduate coordinator and they will explain the process to you! Villa12: |

You can apply for an expedited appointment in Nigeria within 90 days of your program start date if you have not been refused a visa within the last year. https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/en/expedited-appointment If this is your first F1 visa and not an F1 renewal, I suggest you apply for an expedited appointment in Nigeria. It is best to apply for a first-time visa in your home country if that is where you reside full time. While some people are lucky to get first-time F1 visas in neighboring countries, you will be considered a third country national and open yourself to unnecessary scrutiny. It will be difficult to convince a VO about your home ties to Nigeria. My response assumes that you do not live, work, or study in Cameroon or Benin Republic. DanteSilva: |

Good morning all. Please I need your help, my J1 visa was denied in May. I have applied again but unable to get an appointment date. Anytime I click the option I have been denied in the last 6 months, it shows me no available dates. I am contemplating using the regular appointment option. Does it matter? Someone said it doesn't because it's a separate company not the embassy. I am really in a dilemma. Will it course them to deny me again? Because my training will start this June and I am already running late. Please I need help Please I need urgent suggestions. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 12:02pm On Jun 10 |
kitlady02: Hey 🤠 1. You are supposed to wait naturally as a 2nd timer or cancel your appointment and change to another location (Lagos/Abuja). And securing another F-1 VISA appointment by all means does not affect your visa decision providing that you are not impersonating anyone and the consular grant you the audience. 2. And to clear your notion, USA embassy official website and CGI portal as well as DS-160 portal are under same umbrella. 3. But, you seem to be rushing back to the embassy in order to meet up with your June resumption, has the USA embassy or the previous consular who interviewed you promised you the VISA ? 4. I think you are supposed to work on previous lapses, I mean why was your visa denied ? Best Wishes 🙏 |

Good morning house. Please I need your sincere guidance, a friend applied for MPower financing to fund his education at a school in the US. Then, he received an email that he is having a deficiency because ffrom his credit history, he borrowed certain amount of money in 2021 from UBA which he delayed for a month befall he payed back. The delayed was caused because he changed job, and the former company did not pay him for the last month he w irked with them. Please who knows what can be done in order to permanently remove the deficiency from his account history so that he will be able to be qualified to access the loan? |

Cheundaisi:Do well not to respond to that charlatan who quoted you earlier. I don’t think there is anything you can do regarding your credit record of late payment. It’s a red flag and it has affected a lot of people who borrowed money from banks during the COVID-19 era. You can’t do anything about it. But you can contact UBA so they can give you information on how you can get that history taken off your account. Here in the U.S. if you miss a payment and it goes on your record, it would take 7 years or so for it to fall off your account. You see how long that takes. I don’t know the rules with Nigeria so you might need to check. 1 Like |

yomm45: I do not know how this works totally but I do not think it is because of the date of marriage she was denied. I would suggest you review her interview to find what could be the cause of the delay and fix it. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by GboyegaD(m): 12:17am On Jun 11 |
Prettyfranca: I would suggest you wait till end of June and use that time to ensure you tie up every lose strings on your end. This would include ensuring your story is tight and convincing enough because paying $35k is no child's play and you have to prove beyond doubt it is a worthy investment. |

OyoTunjiUSA: I do not agree with your second point. I have a friend whose wife attended her F2 interview the following week after their wedding and was granted . For mine, we attended interview together two weeks after our wedding and were granted F1 and F2 respectively (however, in my case, I have schooled in the US in the past and that is why I wouldn't want to use mine as a typical example). On the 3rd point, why would anyone expect his wife to be coming on and off if she doesn't say that is what she wants to do? Who is he suppose to sleep with when she is not around? No one will want to separate a spouse except the spouse decides to do that him/herself. 1 Like |

Ellskc: You have a full tuition scholarship and your family friend is there to sponsor your outstanding (boarding, books, and feeding). This should give you the confidence you need to go get your visa. A simple question is how do you address him? If anyone ask about your sponsor, just state Mr X or Uncle X depending on how you call him and explain the relationship and how he has always believed in you and promised to sponsor you through school. I would rather you focus on why the school, what your long term plans are, how the program will help you achieve that amongst others. Congratulations in advance and I hope to read your success story. 4 Likes |

GboyegaD: Hey 🤠 Your critic is not genuine and it shows that you knows nothing about USA VISA policies. 1. How many percentage of PhD applicants secure visa with spouses immediately after wedding? Phd applicants needs the highest form of concentration and taking dependents straight away with them as they are resuming school is usually view as a DISTRACTION. 2. You finally exposed yourself on the 3rd Point. Is the wife suposed to go and stay permanently with the husband ? Even the husband as a student , is he suppsed to go and stay finally ? Who is she supposed to sleep with when she is not around is a subnormal reasoning. She is supposed to visit and come back not to go and stay. 3. You are coming from another forum my friend. Go and Google PhD students in the United States and how esteem they are, as well as how delicate their F1-VISA is regardless of fundings.. And let me lecture you that your wife is your highest form of collateral that the United States embassy can hold in Nigeria as a STRONG TIE. Stop misleading the public because you want to attack OyotunjiUSA. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 9:12am On Jun 11 |
GboyegaD: Hey 🤠 1. Mr novice, someone applied for visa after 2 months of wedding and you do not think that it is because of date of marriage . NOW TELL US WHAT DO YOU THINK ? 2. You do not know how this works totally BUT YOU ARE CRITICING WHAT YOU DONT KNOW. 3. You are now suggesting that the OP who needs public idea and confuse to review his wife interview and suggest his own solution ? So there is no solution in your brain ? But you can mislead the OP by taking away the solution he has already gotten ? Go and face your jobs in other threads. You dont have any visa and i doubt if you have a travel Passport. This adventure will not pay you. Dont join the failed groups. |
