Anyone pointing at the players alone and exempting Finidi George is being very dishonest and avoiding the obvious.

This is Finidi's Super Eagles now. So this is his doing. If it was Amunike, I am pretty sure almost no one would be talking about the players but the coach.

This is Finidi in full display.

Say what you want about Tanimu being decent but let us be serious, he has no business in the starting XI as well.

I am gonna agree with you. Finidi George is a total joke!!

Dude is a gamble taken too far. Basic rudiments of football are lacking in his managerial ability. He has displayed a total lack of understanding from his selections, tactics, and substitutions.

Shebi ina captain talk say "We can't beat everybody"

That's the mentality of the captain of a super eagles side. Funny isn't it?

I will continue to bash them because this is a team purely assembled on politics

Even the coach with a bad record

Lolll

Super Eagles isn't making the World cup

This is over.
There is no way we are qualifying for the worldcup. we have to win all remaining 6 matches which is impossible.

I don't envy the coach at this time, his head was be running 440 right about now. Panicking, even his substitutions tell that story.

Too many genZ kids here with a sense of entitlement
When we were kids we used to watch World cup with no hope we would ever get there

Pause and imagine

Finidi George was in the first set to play there .
Westerhof joined us in1989. He failed to qualify for the 1990 World cup

They kept faith with him and the rest is history
Even if this team qualify they will be disgraced
Whoever coaches us whether Finidi or not should be given the same space to build a team and forget about the next World Cup

Let us not Forget

It was Peseiro who started this campaign with draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

We need to go back to the same Home based formula that used. This is particularly important with defenders who can play out the ball and midfielders that are creative

For now we should be building for the future
We have not got players

Finidi should be a honorable gentleman and resign!!!

That's not true. We played good football. What is lacking is ruthlessness. Each player knowing why he is on the pitch. Don't forget that this is a new coach using a competitive match to instill his ideology or philosophy if you like. Take for instance Moffi is playing like a true 2nd choice striker. His body language says it all. Tanimu I don't have issues with him but will need time to blend in. To fail to plan is to plan to fail
this is one out of the many issues we have in the team style of play. Even at the just concluded afcon we played shittty football

NFF keeps on doing the same thing every time and expect different results. Gernot Rohr built a formidable team that even beat Argentina and drew with Brazil only for NFF to play politics and remove him and bring Eguavoen from NFF backyard and gave him original white shirt to wear, we missed out of the world cup to an inferior Ghana at that time.
Again , Jose Poseiro built another team that surprisingly reached the final of AFCON, only for NFF to bring Finidi George with no Superior football philosophy and polish him the way politicians polished bad leaders before presenting them to the common man. Today we have seen the starting. The players only played what they individually knew. If we don't bring in a well trained foreign coach, Nigeria may not go to the next world cup.

This match was a must win

Nigeria isn't qualifying for the nest world cup

Nigeria can't win all the remaining group games

Watching Ismaila in Jersey #2 makes me wonder how we fell from Jose Peseiro's "Efficient Haram" to this Finidi's disjointed and deceptively beautiful nonsense.

Not like Peseiro's was okay but at least, he was results-driven until the haram became exposed.

We had a chance to give this job to a proper local coach who knows his stuff but nooooo... Let's give it to Finidi for the "sake of continuity".

Please point out the "continuity".

NFF has issues with Amunike that’s why they didn’t give the job to him I believe

The two goals conceded by the Nigeria team were gifted by the defenders.

No wonder Peseiro used 5 man defense and 2 defensive midfielders. He couldn't trust the backline.

The same man, who despite all odds and a lot of criticism from Nigerians, surprised everyone and took Nigeria to the final of the just concluded AFCON(something that a lot of local coaches have failed to do in a long time). That same guy.

The same man who drew against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.yes him.
We all know we were lucky
He had no clue and the Final game showed that clearly
He was tactically empty in that game

We were a goal up and watched Cote d'Ivoire kill us in slow motion

No answer totally clueless performance
Final ?? Second is the first loser
Keshi did better with worse and scornful treatment from NFF

beating the same Ivory coast who had a much better squad then
How did we treat him
