I remember a place called cocaine avenue in Festac, how as kid growing up I used to admire the mansions in the area.

There was one particular house that stood out.It was built like the shape of a stadium. Very innovative at the time.

Festac was beautiful then.A well planned town with good roads and drainages in the 80s.i trekked that town tire going to school from 21 Road to 24 Road on a daily.I still cherish those childhood memories.

The last time I visited Festac in 2015,I wept.

This is such a stupid assumption to make.

You mean to tell me that if the govt kept up with the infrastructure all this time, made sure the roads are well paved, well lit, there’s greenery for beauty and ventilation. The gutters and drainage are well maintained to prevent flooding.

Minor decay of roads and bridges are fixed before collapse sets in. Tax money is used to pay sanitation workers in a timely manner so that rubbish isn’t littered everywhere. There’s clean affordable water and electricity. Each house has plumbing by law etc etc

That Igbo people won’t like it?

This is what tribalism has done to your brains. You don’t mind saying the most outlandish things just to try to win a silly argument

You're the one who's blind she's calling the Govt attention to tidy the place buh once Govt starts and put everything she made mention of people will start playing the victim card or saying is because they're not voted.....

People can't be hungry and trying to survive and you be calling on Govt to give you something smart when people are hungry and just trying to survive...

So is ur problem if you think my comment is tribalistic...

If you want a good and smart city head will roll and poverty might also increase...

The light situation in festac is so terrible 😔. For all the years I go to Lagos that I stay in Festac, 1st avenue especially light na wahala o.
Just came back again last week. We could go for 2 weeks without light. The roads are very bad. No drainages. Usually flooded when it rains.
Festac has indeed lost its initial glory.
The sound of generator from almost every house in festac can deafen someone.
I grew up in festac extension mile 2 estate. Even that area sef dey get light pass festac.
you stated in extension and stay festac has poor drainage system… you are laughable indeed.. Anyways I know I a lot about both places too.

STFU you don't know anything about Lagos. All those places you mentioned are still full of Igbos except Ajegunle that is more of Delta enclave. Moreover we are talking about environment you are saying a different thing! Igbos are the ones that will call Yoruba dity but Igbos are the dirtiest tribe in Nigeria.

The person you quoted is actually right, though you might not want to admit it. The few times I visit Lagos, I discovered I met more of Yoruba people when I went to the low-income areas with cheaper rent like Orile and MazaMaza. I met more Igbos around Ago Palace Way . This is just an honest observation

Most of you guys are stupid as Bleep. Yes the shops are becoming too much but that is never the In thing with festac… So idiots expects taxpayers to repair roads Festac has on the best road networks. The building looks old because it has not being painted for a long time. Tribal non sense is for what exactly? I saw a post from someone saying festac has a bad drainage system like can you imagine. We complain and overlook human factors encroachment on land meant water most people buy lands without taking build instructions.

You guys don’t get tired of being dense and tribalistic?

Your government collects taxes and does nothing with it except to feed fat. While you get off on hating each other as they stow your collective wealth away for their future generations 10x removed.

They know you can’t do anything but come on the internet to spew tribalistic BS. When you see the people responsible for your plight, you lay down and worship them but feel strongly against the next person who’s just as much a victim as you.

I’ve never seen a group of people as unique as Nigerians

My opinion, I kinda think these are paid actors. To properly rule people as large as Nigeria, they must be divided along tribal and ethnic lines. They probably foot soldiers who get paid with a token. Because I can’t understand the hate from one tribe towards another tribe but they constantly afraid of the Fulani tribe.

Stop defending rubbish

So if govt collect taxes does that means citizens are qualified to leave like animals, don't maintain and destroy properties for selfish gain.

Even if the govt is corrupt with the taxes that does that mean the citizens should be nuisance to the society?

If so then there is no difference between the corrupt government and the nuisance set of citizens.

I don’t minimize the value of individuals contributing positively to their environment. However, every Nigerian is just as liable as the next person. Stop being tribalistic about it.

Festac Town has lost its glory. Bad roads and shops everywhere. Almost all ground floor of block of flats have been converted to business centres. Duplexes are not left out in the madness. The last time Festac Town had a good serenity of environment was in the early 2000s.

I miss the town though cos I was born and bred there.
It was way better in the 80s. I lived there between 82-89. It was the best year's of my childhood life. The buildings were more pristine and the road networks were still very much good. Festac was like a one big family then.
