Festac used to be multicultural. Guess the people that live in festac nowadays after they hijacked it.
The tribe starts with an I and ends with O. They invaded the town and messed it up.

Before and after below 👇
It speaks volumes that the Igbos you love so much drove the Yorubas out. What does that tell you?

Festac Town has lost its glory. Bad roads and shops everywhere. Almost all ground floor of block of flats have been converted to business centres. Duplexes are not left out in the madness. The last time Festac Town had a good serenity of environment was in the early 2000s.

I miss the town though cos I was born and bred there.
Same. Was thinking he'd pass through Christian Council. Opposite was a mini amusement park. Fun days.

YORUBA MEN DEY TALK LIKE HIGHWAY ROBBERS.

IT IS LIKE THEY JUST DISCOVERED LAGOS.

THEY FEEL IGBO SHOULD JUST COME OUT, AND LEAVE THEIR INVESTMENT FOR THEM

THAT IS HOW THEY FEEL.

LAGOS THAT WE ALL BUILT, JUST LIKE ABUJA.

An Ode to my beautiful Festac:

Oh my Festac, once radiant, now forlorn,
Your beauty dimmed, your pride, once brightly worn.
In you, my heart found solace, peace serene,
A haven where my joys and dreams convene.

May those in power hear our heartfelt plea,
Restore your grace, your charm, your dignity.
For in your arms, my soul learned to be free,
A sanctuary of love and harmony.

Your streets, the cradle of my fearless youth,
Where safety reigned, and life was purest truth.
Embodying the dreams of unity,
A symbol of our nation's legacy.

Forever in my heart, your memory glows,
A beacon of the peace that ever grows.
Oh Festac, may you rise and shine anew,
A testament to all our dreams come true.

For those of us who grew up in Festac, I am sure we are not happy with the current state of things in Festac. I wish Festac will take back it's place in all ramifications.
Which primary school did you attend?

WHAT STOP YOU BUILDING FESTAC IN IBADAN? grin grin

U DONT EVEN THINK OF BUYIG PROPERTY THERE.

JUST IGBO COME OUT.

DID YORUBA TELL YOU THEY ARE NOT PLENTY IN FESTAC?

THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU WILL BE IN OGUN STATE AND BE TALKING ABOUT PLACES YOU DONT KNOW.

ASIDE THE ISLANDS, ON THE MAINALAND, FESTAC, SATELLITE TOWN ARE RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE BEST.

YOU CAN ACTUALLY WALK CONTIINOUSLY ON PEDESTRIAN WALK WAY FOR 2 TO 5HOURS NONSTOP IN FESTAC FROM POINT A TO B. CLOSED UNDERGROUND DRAINAGE FOR MORE THAN HALF THE AREA, SO U MAY NOT SEE OPEN GUTTERS.

SOME OF US WERE RAISED WITHOUT OPEN GUTTERS IN SIGHT.

IT IS RARE IN NIGERIA AND LAGOS, WHERE PEOPLE SHARE ROAD WITH CARS AND OPEN GUTTERS EVERYWHERE.

THIS IS THE BENEFIT OF URBAN PLANNING AND MANY HERE WERE BORN AND RAISED THERE.

I remember playing in the park whilst waiting for the school bus as a kid.

Sometimes a group of us would miss the bus on purpose after school and walk instead, loaded up on yoghurt and fan iced cream from the ice cream parked out outside the school gate.

I remember Clarinder( I think that's how it's spelt) supermarket and agboju market where my mom would do the weekly shop.

There was a real sense community, close party at Christmas for the kids, neighbours mum could dish out an ass whoop if you misbehaved in your parents absence.

Fun times and great childhood memories.

even ikeja that is under your control what does it look like, go check igbo cities and compare with Yoruba cities, igbo cities are well planned while yoruba cities are unplanned and unpleasant ghetto

I grew up in festac extension. But of recent I stay in Festac whenever I visit Lagos. My emphasis was more on the light situation than even the drainage of a thing

am not being tribalistic about this.
It's an experience am sharing. Have been a resident of festac for a very long time and had to witness how this beautiful place got transformed to an eyesore overtime especially by this same set of people.

You are being sentimental about it and trying to dismiss the truth.
